congrats to you and your family doing any homesteadin? Rabbits are pretty chill and multiple like crazy
Whoo hoo! I got a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX
Its me on on dec 2019 got my property it was panic one day the other was happiness since then we keep moving forward to the next goal congrats to you guys I’m a fan of yours hope one day be fishing with you
I think a cool idea for your cookbook would be for some of those QR codes to link directly to the video on your channel where your recipe originated from. We can follow your recipe by book and video while we make it ourselves! Just a thought. Also, congrats on the property! Been following you and Jocelyn's journey since 15k subs. You two have really come a long way
that's a cool idea! i was thinking the same! Lots of photos, not only the food but also some background stories and photos, would be great.
A sprinkler system around the house. Especially during fire season. Run that bad boy every so often during fire season to keep everything around the house wet in case of fire. I wish I had one on my property a few years ago during the fires and unfortunately lost my house. Now I have one that during the fire season I I use every other day. Congrats on the property. Can’t wait to see the videos you guys will produce here
Defensible space!!!
Dude I been wanting to suggest this so bad..
Isn't there supposed to be drought in CA and they really haven't even secured a water source for the property.
@@SiopaoSauc3 I have a 25,000 gallon tank I have it all hooked up to
@@SiopaoSauc3 Northern California gets rain it’s different from Southern California
If you haven’t done it then I strongly suggest you to do a survey of your property. The survey will identify all boundaries and corners of your property. Please buy some strong metal posts to pile down at all corners and use concrete bags to enforce the post base. I would also use orange paint to paint the posts for easily identifying in the future. That’s way, you always know what is belonged to your property.
Please do it and you will thank me later.
can,t believe he bought a property like that without a survey in the first place.
As a land surveyor, I highly recommend getting a survey done also.
Nice piece of property BUT
As a former forest fire crew member in southern Oregon, PLEASE get a lot of advice on IF (or HOW) to burn that scrap wood.
There are WAY too many overhanging conifers right there, and I'm guessing you get a lot of wind/breeze. Even in wet times, you can light your property on fire if there are enough flying cinders and overhead branches. Please get some professional advice first, cuz you'd probably be liable for any off-property damages you cause.
Just be safe.
I can't bail you out. I'm too old to dig fire trail any more. How are you with a hazel hoe or pulasky?
BTW, I live in the woods too, and I love it. When it's Green...charcoal-grey? not so much.
Enjoy the new place. It looks pretty amazing.
Think about making a big clay-oven back on that electrical stub-line.... check you soil, cuz you might have the right kind of clay right there. All you need is a fine, flexible-when-wet clay, a little sand, and some straw (that dried grass around you, cut a couple sheaves of hay. There's a great book on how-to-build ovens, etc by Kiko Denzer (Earth Oven). There may be a side job in making those things and towing them to the rich folk in a 30-40 mile radius.
Bro I think he’s got it
@@xFrUiTySmoothie1 I think somebody from a fire crew would have a valid qualm on the subject
Taku, so happy for you and Jocelyn. You guys are legends and rightfully celebrating the fruit of your hard work.
I lived in Redding California for a bit and I recommend clearing the trees away from your house to avoid wildfires it’s nice you have metal roofing
That area doesn't burn like the tinderbox of Redding
@@BallardBaller i live in Redding :( Tinderbox in an understatement. I am moving to Trinty here soon. Beautiful.
@@robertwilliams-ig6yi my buddy and I are looking at properties in that same area
@@robertwilliams-ig6yi I been living in Oklahoma for the past 3 years but I’m moving back to Northern California in the Redding area maybe near Shasta or trinity
@@rizlaruler7404Welcome back
Taku you and Jocelyn deserve this success ten fold. Beyond happy for yall
Not many people are excited about buy out there because off all the wildfires. I’m glad for you guys. Good lucky
Dig swales and bunds for water absorption and that’ll keep the property moist
We should call that spot the "outdoor kitchen campground". Such a sweet spot💯
Go Taku go!!! Congrats on your property Chief 👏 🎉love both your channel's.
Congrats on the house! So happy for you, been supporting since 2018. It would be nice to do some content either on this channel or taklyn the world where you document the native/invasive plant species on the property and discuss making changes so it’s all natives/beneficial to local wildlife
@@bryane1582 the only invasive on our property is the Himalayan black berry bush and it’s pretty nice to have as long as we keep it under control. The native butterflies seems to love it as well.
I am so glad for you! California can be expensive. I'm helping my nephew get into a home in Ferndale. It's over a 100 years so getting home insurance is a problem - but from the age of the property. . I'm sure you're having that problem but from fire risk. Cali has to fix this this, if you have a loan the bank will require the insurance. Frankly, even if you cut down trees etc. close to your house, with the type of fire storms we have now, traveling sparks, nothing is guaranteed. Just be ready and enjoy what you have. Your home reminds me of the home Edward Weston lived in, in Big Sur in the 30's. He was a phenomenal photographer. He kept a journal, his "Day Books".
Congrats, sad to see you leave the bay. Congrats on your future little ones and family
Highly recommend rain barrels!!! I have mine set up to my gutters, and then they all run self sustaining with an "on demand" pump connected to a solar panel and battery. So i can just water my yard and garden as needed! Totally "off grid" and super sustainable!
Love watching both your channels and thank you for sharing your lives with us! Hope you keep growing your channels, content, house, and lives together!!!
You earned everything you have now. We are lucky that you bring us along on the adventure.
Looking forward to seeing the mushroom scene on that property. Might be a good idea to inoculate some logs and start some colonies.
Congratulations J&T !!
A worm bin for the property is my suggestion. Keep the worm alive and you have a constant supply of castings for the garden.
hey Taku, I'm an OG...I mean real OG...before you quit your job, before you had Joclyn in your life...and I am so beyond proud or you. You did it!
he don't know you lil bro.
If you r an OG then what is his middle name
Dude, it's been fun watching you two grow through all of your guys' adventures. What a milestone! Congratulations to both of you!
Congratulations on buying the property! I have a great idea for how you can use part of your new land. You can start a health spa and serve really healthy, freshly-caught seafood, wild game, mushrooms, probiotic food (miso, kimchi, etc.), and other Japanese foods (but, please, no brown rice sushi!)
Congratulations on your new home! What an amazing space, looking forward to watching everything you have planned for it. My son and I are long time fans🤙🏽
The tiny mountain town we live in has been overrun with bay area transplants buying everything in sight. Friendly advice, be aware that not everyone is excited to have new neighbors. We're happy for you guys, you deserve it, and you've always been respectful. Cheers!
Those same transplants were transplants in the Bay Area
This is happening everywhere. Everyone is trying to move away from the very liberal cities they create to small countryside town. A lot are nice people who just want a quieter and safer place to live but some come in and try to install the same crap they did in the big cities
I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU AND JOCLYN!! WELL DONE TAKU!! WOW!! ENJOY THE PROPERTY BE SURE TO MAKE LOTS OF VIDEOS. WOW I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!
The only thing that would make me happier is if it was me getting my own off grid house! May u be blessed with many wonderful memories in the years to come!! Congratulations, u both deserve happiness
If yall watch their other channel yall Already knew about the new house but Congrats! And as A guy who lived in the country side I k ow how yall feel, its soo nice and quiet not no car traffic or neighbors making loud noises.
You and Jocelyn deserve everything amazing coming your way, Taku! Please share your home projects with us!
Excited to see Jocelyn's garden
I would love to volunteer hand out with you couple of days, help out clean and clear out area. Boiled tobacco and soap is apparently good for stem boring insects. I hope it works on longhorn beetles too so they don't damage more pine trees. The procedure is, boil tobacco leaf, add soap of any kind, that hopefully won't fizz too much, spray concentrate around roots of plants before rain or put some water after so roots will soak up the medicine and stem boring insects will have it's last juice. On veggies it's good to sprinkle it before or during budding stage, so plant will cleanse out itself before the fruit is ready. Helps with aphids too. In Nepal sprinkling with cooled ashes also helps with aphids and probably good for plants in other ways too. One of our subject in grade 8,9,10 was agriculture
property in the redwoods sounds like a dream, congratulations taku you deserve it.
Maybe a pond of some kind and raise your own fish. Trout, catfish, bass, tilapia, etc. Or a small aquaponics set up. I see Jocelyn already has a garden but maybe its something you two might be into later. I eventually plan do start a small setup at my place, that way me and the kids can go fishing whenever we want 😂
You earnt it bro, been watching your content for 18months now and always waiting for the next installment well done Taku
As a tree guy please be very careful on that ladder when cutting brother. August hunicke is another UA-camr just across the border who you could probably do a collaboration with. If anything watch his videos before tackling more tree work. I love his videos and products. Congratulations on the property man love your content as well.
Congrats on the house guys!!
Congrats to the both of you! So excited for you and the new contents and videos!! You worked soo hard for this! So proud of you!
You guys seem very satisfied. You deserve everything you have.
@6:32 - announcement
The extra bit of land you found down the bottom, you should turn that into a Yatai spot 👍 That way if any one ever comes around you can go all out with them at the Yatai sanctuary
Both of you are living my dream ❤ you definitely deserved it. All your hard work and all. Can't wait for your future episodes ❤
Congrats on everything. I have a few fig trees and they quickly became my favorite plants as well as fruit. I’m really excited for you guys!
Don't want to sound weird but I dreamt of this space and a host cabin for high end venues and here it is! You should definitely consider a high end venue route with the extra property you didn't know you had bought lol
Congratulations!!! That Digger Pine is a major fire hazard. Super happy for both of you
You guys deserve it and proud to be a part of the journey if only online!
We were here since you started YT bro and was a fan right away me and my girl... Proud of you and please continue to upload cool down to earth outdoor stuff with jocelyn. life is great with outdoorcheflife and taklyn the world.
Congrats Taku thats a beautiful property! All u need is a few egg laying chickens and your set 😅
Congratulations. Well deserved. What a blessing, thank you for sharing your adventures. I look forward to Panama 🤙🏽
Yay, yay, happy day! I am so happy for you and Jocelyn!! What a gorgeous property surrounded by amazing trees! Your "camping area" with the power is going to be one fabulous outdoor area! Looking forward to the build!
A glamping treehouse for summer nights, a natural creek/open water sink like WildernessCooking on Yt, a pizza oven bbq fireplace. Big thanks for the awesome content and congratulations!
Everybody leaving the Bay Area for that good old country life. 😂
Praying you and Jocelyn will be blessed beyond measure so that the mortgage won't need to be such a worry. Whatever your journey is whether it's staying in UA-cam or not hoping for a successful journey. However, I like watching your vlogs a lot and hope you guys continue updating about your adventures as I'm also watching the OG fishermen of sf Bay area.
Congratulations Taku and Jocelyn!
It's perfect!! Congrats and God bless to you and Jocelyn!! 😎👍
Just a tip for everyone. Since cold weather isn't too far away I usually start buying the "Old Wisconsin Snack Sticks" to slice up and put in my soups, seafood gumbo or just to snack on. The Hot & Spicy are my favorite and the "Beef" ones are great too.
So happy to follow you and Jocelyn on this entire journey, can't wait to see where you go next!
Happy for you both Taku
When you listen, you can hear the breeze coming and then it goes by and it’s quiet again
Congratulations pal, very beautiful place you got 😉🍀👍👌🙏
I'm so excited for y'all, you have so much potential to do with that property. I had to add this in. I love the 5-second rule been doing it my whole life and I'm not dead yet, LOL.😂
I never usually comment, but congratulations, Taku! I look forward to every one of your videos that you post. So excited to see what’s next in store for you both! This is definitely my comfort channel. 😊
I'm excited for your new place man, we love you and no stress.
I think this is the most tackle box viewing ever!
This news is awesome!!!
I am soooo happy for you two.
Friends of the channel.... It is easy to subscribe and like.....
Let's get them to one Million by sharing this awesome content!!! Not sure you all know....here is a "Share" button!!!!
Tuna Slayer out!
Congrats to you both! Nice to see 2 little fish make it to the big pond.
I reckon some nice safari tents down near that outdoor kitchen you’re planning. I’d stay for a whole summer 🏕️🍻🍣
Congrats bro. Couldn't be happier for you both. You feed the soul for us normies stuck in the grind. Living vicariously thru you guys makes life a little more enjoyable. Cheers 🍻
Omg so happy for you!!! That’s freaking amazing! Dude this video inspired me so much 💕 you’re amazing!!
Congrats! So happy for you and Jocelyn
Congratulations to both of you, so proud of both of you. That’s one of my dream too to live in the woods. As a long haul trucker I’m working almost nonstop trying to save by living in my truck.
So dope to see. Been a follower for a few years and man its well deserved
Been a viewer since the beginning! Absolutely blown away with your accomplishments! Happy for you brother!
I follow you guys religiously! Both Outdoor Chef Life and Taklyn the world! Pls keep making awesome vids!
"Listed for only $500k"
Yeah, ONLY $500k.......I can't imagine why people weren't fighting in the streets for it
Gotta start watching some Epic Gardening and Homesteading!
Okay, matt, we know how this goes oops.I've forgotten I thought you were fisherman's life
Underrated comment. All the Bay Area fishing folks moving deep into the mountains. Cost of living in the bay is painful and can’t start a family in a studio
Congrats on the new house! That's such a huge struggle for our generation and to achieve that is something to be truly proud of! Looking forward to the next time you visit Washington state again!
I thought the announcement was Joycelyn being pregnant because I haven’t seen her drink any alcohol 🍷 😂😂 Congratulations on the new property and house.. I can’t wait to see your outdoor kitchen build and all the projects.. Also I can’t wait for the cook book..
please make a separate video and educate us on the whole process of buying this land, this is so exciting!!!
Yayyyy!! You can tell by the smile on your face that your truly happy and that's a beautiful thing! I'm sooooo happy for you guys! Enjoy what you've worked for..✌️
Awesome buddy. After you get settled you should bring me on a trip. 🤙🏼. I would have a blast hanging out with you.
So sick. Honestly, thank you for bringing us along for the ride. It’s been great to see your channel grow and your life expand over the last few years. You gotta show the view from the top of the ridge. The only thing i can think of doing is a zipline.
beautiful place. cant wait for you to build it. start by building a bbq and wood oven. for your big outdoor kitchen. cabins for guests. a pond for the khoi like japanese garden. enjoy.
I know that's not Yosemite but I remember getting dropped off in Merced then hitch hiked to Mariposa and into Yosemite. Beautiful country up there.
Love it brother! Congratulations to the both of you again!
Congratulations! I am part owner as I have invested in 10+ kelp chili crisps
So happy for you man!
This is Thanh, from Royal High!! Just want to congratz on your home! supper happy for ya
Congratulations on the crib and property. You guys deserve all the success. Because no matter of ya'llz level of success you guys always remain humble. Constantly thanking us for your success. I will follow you until you no longer want to be followed. I have both the knife bag and the apron. Your mom is a beautiful craftsman. Keep bringing the bomb content. Can't wait to see your Los Buzos content. I hope you colab with Robert Fields sometime. That would be AWESOME!! ♥️✌🏼
Congratulations on your new home I'm very excited for you and for what's to come. I have one recommendation replace the green corrugated fiberglass panels with white corrugated fiberglass paddles. It should give you excellent lighting during the day for making videos. I used to have a patio with that green corrugated fiberglass and replaced it with a standard roof and I instantly regretted it. Love you guys congratulations!
Taku!!!!! I'm SO very happy for you both!! What a wonderful property! You can absolutely build a Life there, and still travel. I'm a Florida realtor and I'm over the top happy for you guys!
Dude that outdoor kitchen is going to be amazing. Congrats you guys.
Nothing like a good fixer upper to make your own. Happy for you two. How many acres do you end up with? Such a sick location. I also live in the woods, not nearly off the beaten path as your new place, but its enough. And it doesn't get any better
Congrats on the house
Congratulations guys! Looking forward to see you fish at Panama. I’ve been watching Robert Fields for a long time and hoping to do that one day. As a Northern California native, I enjoy watching your content.
Congratulations man. The place looks great can't wait to see the way it all develops for you two
TAKU MARTES! Congratulations guys!
Happy for you guys 😍😍 It is a lot of work doing what you do: First just doing it! Deciding where to go and what you will being doing when you get there! Capturing it on video (On the fly), then the time to edited it so it comes out in a streamed line flow. To be honest, I don't know how you find the time to do it all. But having said that, it has been an incredible journey! Now to OWN property in the redwood, wow🤩🤩 Maybe I’ll start a UA-cam Channel🤪🤪
Congrats to both, very excited. You both deserve it. Stay safe and continue being blessed
Congrats again Taku, been watching since the Subaru haha. It would be definitely cool for some pop up events on the new land.
One decoration you need because your Japanese is the bamboo water fountain the one that fills up the bamboo and then pours out into the rocks
Congrats, well deserved 👍🏻
