I love when those ads are actually a great song! I've come to learn to give it a second before skipping them.. this one is one of those gems!
As we get older and older, we tend to forget how fast we’re hitting to adulthood. Until we wake up all of a sudden and we become adults. We have to change who we truly are to become “socially acceptable” to society. We don’t have a choice, Even though we want to hold close to our child self and want to be free and wild like we use to be. Growing up wasn’t a choice, it was forced onto us.
This hurts me on an emotional and spiritual level....
Cause its true. It really is. I dont think im the only one who felt this way. Like you never got a crash course for being an 'adult' not knowing what it means to be one and yet all of a sudden you are one and youre told you gotta be like everyone else; work, spend, pay bills....
One way i look at this song is bidding farewell to that young part of you. Having to snuff out the inner child to be an adult.
It hurts.
And it hurts a little bit, thinking of everyone else like me that has and or has had to snuff out or cut out that part of themselves.
I would give any part of myself for just a little more time.

hits incredibly close to home. the symbolism in the video is really well done too. took me a while to notice all of it. caged bird, the trojan horse on the fence post. overall retail commercial sounding instrumentals.
