What can I use to cover it with a trash bag? I bought this to use as a trash container but I’ve been struggling to put a bag on it 😫 I have the 10 gallon one Thank you
we ended up putting the bag around the lid part only so that the cans we were putting inside wouldn't be able to leak / spill on anything else... if you had a big enough bag you could probably just put it over the entire bottom part and then put the lid on top, but that wouldn't make good use of the rest of the bag's volume...
I wouldn't, since they're not sealed, in other words bugs could still crawl in and out. You'd need them to be in sealed plastic bags or something, which kind of defeats the purpose.
We moved out of that office so I don't have access to them to check any more, and I don't recall if there is a metal bar or not, but the current version on the website just says they're plastic (doesn't mention any metal). That said, for these ones, we used/abused them daily for 3 years and no problem with the hinge separating.
I want something to store the rice, do u think this would work for storing rice? I like the way the lid opens so it's easy to scoop out the rice with a cup.
definitely NOT good for rice. these things don't seal, so I think you'll end up with bugs or mice getting into your rice if you leave it inside here w/o further protection.
I think it would work best for things like bundles of socks or other things you could just pile in loosely. The opening is not really big enough to stack shirts or pants or other folded objects in nicely.
Hi there, does the 4L plastic milk bottle fit through the opening? I’m thinking to use the 16 gallon one at the bottom for containers, and stack a smaller one on top for papers. Would hate having to lift the whole lid up in order to dump the milk jug in. Thanks
what i'm interested in is: how waterproof is the lid? i plan on keeping these on my balcony and i really don't want any water to get inside the paper compartment.
I would advise against it, since there's no hard seal, bugs could still get in through the cracks. (the deeper one is 60L volume, so should be able to fit 30kg of rice or flour, etc).
So just one question... how do you take all the stuff out when it needs emptying? Really, just asking, this seems convenient but I don't know if it might turn messy when you actually need to take it out.
good question. I think you can pour stuff out of the front with the top off, but yeah, will be messy if you have lots of small items in there.. (e.g. if you filled it up with marbles or gravel or something....
Thanks for the nice short informative review. I know this video is already 1.5 years old, but wondering if you could tell us how "opaque" the plastic is. If you hold it up to a light and put your hand behind it, can you see your hand shadow from inside? (just wondering because thinking of using this for a reservoir for my hydroponics system and I need to keep light out).
I just checked - its almost completely opaque. if I turn all the lights off and look out the door into the lit hallway, I can see some light through it (and can see a faint shadow from my hand). There is a dimple in the middle (where the plastic molding 'runner' connected when they made it), that's a bit thinner and semi-opaque, but its only about the size of a penny maybe.....
3:17 (Petfood) Thank you, I was exactly looking for this.

Greatly appreciated
I wonder if a toilet paper roll could fit through that. Thinking about using these to stock the upstairs extras.
Sorry I know this is 2 years old.. but what is the base dimensions..the web site only has the dimensions for the top
Covered the pros and cons well thanks.
Thank you for making this!
This is good stuff ..just wondering can we put rice and flour big quantities in these ...i never used these before..thxx

@@CluelessDad yeah make sense
.thanxx alot for your reply nd guidance..much appreciated
Thank you for the information!
Do those hinges have a metal bar through them, or are they just plastic? Plastic tabs seem like they would break pretty quickly.

If its the same size a gallon milk jug from the US, I think it may be a tight squeeze... maybe stomp on it first!

Good question, i plan to the same. Any answer ?
Very late, but water totally get in 😭😑
@@soroh0062255 yeah i figured, got others from Leroy Merlin which are waterproof. Thanks for the answer tho!
Can I store grains in it? Like 25 to 30kg weight

@@CleverLittleMaker did you use it for hydroponics?
@@bufarah001 I did not only because it was a bit large for my system design. However I think it would work well.
