It's so funny to hear Nick speak so quickly, saying important things from the point of view of decoration and interior design, but in such a simple, down-to-earth way that you can't help but listen to him very carefully. But what I like most is that Nick shows his human side, with the flaws that we all have, in a way that is simultaneously humble, funny and very accurate! It is, without a doubt, the best UA-cam channel for decoration and interior design! That being said, greetings from Portugal!
I think, when we decorate our living spaces, we need to make choices based on the extent of use a piece of furniture will endure. I say there is nothing wrong with veneer in a night stand, or a table in an area that gets light use. Solid wood is better for dining room tables, coffee tables, and furniture that gets used (beat up) daily. Thanks, Nick, for showing us our options.
I just moved into a new apartment 2 months ago and I am sloooowly getting everything organized how I want (slow bc I'm broke lol) so this video is kind of perfect timing for me! Would love to see more stuff related to moving and having to reorganize/re-evaluate style in a new space.

After getting disgusted with myself over my collection of cheap Walmart/Target/dollar store organization bins, boxes and totes making my organization look disorganized and messy... I finally went to Ikea (and Daiso). Sooo happy I did! Everything is now super-organized, looks coordinated, neat, and clean! Ikea furniture is very hit-miss. But for organizing and cloth items like dish towels, toss pillows etc. Ikea is amazing value in my opinion.

Love you, Nick … super relatable for me … the humor, the attitude, an occasional whatever, don’t sweat the small stuff. I especially like 10:25 the IKEA sessions. Many closed media consoles don't have a method to allow electronics to cool off. Something very important to keep in mind when enclosing anything electronic is that electronics create a ton of heat. Because they create a ton of heat, you can shorten the lives of the electronics or even start a fire. Try to hide electronics in ways that allow them plenty of room to breathe and remove heat.

I once bought chair for someone for gift with acorn on top of ladder back and discovered it was Shaker before gifting it. I still have it, 50 years later, lol ❣️ I love the basket too, great impulse buy, verifies good taste.
When we renovated our two bathrooms, instead of the traditional medicine cabinet, we modified large kitchen cabinets (two per bathroom) to fill the spaces between the studs, installed mirrors on the cabinet doors and called it a day. They may be more shallow than regular kitchen cabinets, but given the large size, they work beautifully in both spaces, hold all our things and, what I love the most, are totally unexpected!🎉🎉
@@lleocttx2326That IS the new home! You’ll note the kitchen table is not in the background. But I seriously keep thinking it’s the old place too and I miss the clock, as silly as that might be. Everything else is the exact same, except that. 😂

Love your energy in this video! I think the speed with which you did it, let you be as funny and silly and irreverent as you like to be. I dunno. It just seems like you are naturally risking more and that the inner critic has left the room with an encouraging nod to your authentic self! Any way, bravo!
I have the 3 by 4 large kallax. I just bought the new blue doors to put 3 across on the top to hide away my purse and my husbands stuff. The new doors look so nice and has elevated the look of the kallax it self and our mudroom. On the bottom I use the black boxes to hide my children’s shoes.
I was so glad that you mentioned using the tins in your bathroom. I have been using Photo boxes for years, but I could see that the tins are a better choice. Thank you so much!
As a Swede Nick is completetly right! We don’t care about his pronounciation! I love hearing english speaking people trying to say IKEA names. The result is nearly always unrecognisable and very cute! ❤
Nick: you can make a medicine cabinet in your bathroom by having it put in between the studs. You can also have one built and install it on the wall over the toilet which is usually just wasted space anyway. I've done both.
Combine both concepts and get a cabinet over the cistern that is deep enough to hold a couple of bulk packs of toilet paper and still doesn't stick out far enough to be a problem.
I love Nick's pronunciation and very thankful for the practical advice he provides on all the options that are available at Ikea. 'Cause some of us don't want to wander through all the aisles & the chaos 🥵🥵 This provides me with just enough options. I'm in & out of the store in minutes. And I'm smiling throughout bc I giggle at how to pronounce all the Swedish items! 🤣
I like how you just copy pasted the layout from your apartment into your home, it's not the most creative but you've made it clear that that layout is your motif and I like it. I do wonder if someone will think why you constructed a wall in your apartment and close off a window too
Thanks for a really helpful video ! Lots of good stuff here. Sometimes the Ikea store is just so overwhelming and it is great to have you highlight pieces that you particularly like that I can then go to the store to look for knowing what I'm looking for.
I had a bright yellow ikea filing cabinet in my first apartment 12 years ago, I hated putting it together so much but it ended up looking cute with my desk that had a matching yellow trim, a white top with a black floral design. It was colorful and bold but definitely not something I’d want now that I’m in my 30s.
Love the ljungan! I also picked mine up to store earrings/bracelets/trinkety bits on my bathroom counter. So glad I made that impulse buy, also🙏🏼 thank you for another video🫶🏼

I once bought chair for someone for gift with acorn on top of ladder back and discovered it was Shaker before gifting it. I still have it, 50 years later, lol ❣️ I love the basket too, great impulse buy, verifies good taste.
There's nothing better than a man that can make me laugh out loud!
❤ You Nick 😉
When we renovated our two bathrooms, instead of the traditional medicine cabinet, we modified large kitchen cabinets (two per bathroom) to fill the spaces between the studs, installed mirrors on the cabinet doors and called it a day. They may be more shallow than regular kitchen cabinets, but given the large size, they work beautifully in both spaces, hold all our things and, what I love the most, are totally unexpected!🎉🎉
I'm BEGGING you to bring back the non-working wall clock you had before. It was a vibe and I miss it.
I miss it, too! Could you put it back until you broadcast from your new home, please? It looks rather bleak now…😢
@@lleocttx2326That IS the new home! You’ll note the kitchen table is not in the background. But I seriously keep thinking it’s the old place too and I miss the clock, as silly as that might be. Everything else is the exact same, except that. 😂
@@Jordan-ts5ji Oh, didn’t realize that! OK, we’ll do just fine without the table, but I think we’d all be happier, including Mr. Clock, if he were restored to his rightful place
@@Jordan-ts5jiThe wall leading out of the living room is wider ...

New House Nick is the vibe I'm bringing into fall. I never would have considered those metal tins to be cool before this. I like them!
Your honesty about NOT decanting food into perfect acrylic canisters is sooooo refreshing. Lowest fucking common denominator. Truth!
Love the Helmer. Thanks for highlighting it. The yellow is actually perfect for my house, and it's exactly what I've been needing. You always showcase something really useful for me. Thanks, Nick!
I love Office furniture as home decor. Those file cabinets are perfect!
They could be great bedside tables
As a newly minted minimalist who doesn’t want to buy a single thing more, I love to watch Nick for good information in case I fall off the minimalist bandwagon. And for his inimitable wit!
On the bottom I use the black boxes to hide my children’s shoes.
that's a cute R2D2 laundry bin!
Nick you have a unique ability to criticize an item and yet make me want to go out and buy it. Well done.
Love the tins, especially with the cork tops. I am moving back on my houseboat so staying stable is vital.
I agree. The cork tops look are genius.
Greetings from Göteborg. I totally enjoy your Swedish pronunciation. Keep it up Nick
Can I just say how much I love you! You always make me laugh. You are perfect!
“This, doesn’t just happen… “
😂😂😂😂😂
Congrats on your new home Nick 🏡 Can’t wait to see how you transform your space ♥️🇨🇦
Thanks for the guidance. I sometimes have trouble telling "Cute" from "Divorced Dad Sad" when I'm at IKEA.
Oh no, is that a term that people are using?
i looove the Dammäng. I have the biggest for my laundry and the slim design just fits so perfectly in a nook. It holds exactly one load.
I totally have those cosmetics products that I’ll come back to in a few years lol
I’d love to see an IKEA walkthrough with Nick and Eden - would be fun to see reactions to new items, etc!
Yes! I'm team medicine cabinet! Especially in the master/main bathroom.
Hair and beard! Wow! Very cool look!
Ooh, love your new standing lamp. Very organic modern.
Do we know what lamp this is?
@@DirgesInTheDark We haven't been introduced.
I know I've seen the shade before, but not on this channel.
I love your ideas so much Nick, plus Ikea's so fun
I just love your videos, Nick. You just make me smile every time I watch. Thanks the giggles with solid design advice 🫶🏼
Still rocking that beard! Looking awesome Nick! Love your channel, can't wait each Saturday. Love from Memphis, TN!~
I love Nick's pronunciation and very thankful for the practical advice he provides on all the options that are available at Ikea. 'Cause some of us don't want to wander through all the aisles & the chaos 🥵🥵
This provides me with just enough options.
I do wonder if someone will think why you constructed a wall in your apartment and close off a window too
"Streaming pile of snakes..." 😀😃😄😁😆😅🤣 LOVE YOU NICK
I wasnt prepared for the personal attacks in this video but gives me motivation 😅😅 thanks! Great recs
Thanks for a really helpful video !
Lots of good stuff here. Sometimes the Ikea store is just so overwhelming and it is great to have you highlight pieces that you particularly like that I can then go to the store to look for knowing what I'm looking for.
I watch for the tips, but mostly for Nick’s snappy, good-natured delivery. 😂
Thank you Nick for being so fun and helpful! You’re my favorite relief for a blah day!
A before and after tour of your place would be fun. :)
Love the ljungan! I also picked mine up to store earrings/bracelets/trinkety bits on my bathroom counter. So glad I made that impulse buy, also🙏🏼 thank you for another video🫶🏼
Look at all of the tins and woven items! I really haven't been excited about IKEA for the last couple decades but now I am! Well done Nick!
I have always been one to hate facial hair but I have to say that it somehow suits you and is really growing on me. Not that you need anyone’s approval or opinion. Love your videos especially the ikea ones.
Love the lamp you chose!
Subscribed when you said you lived in the Netherlands 🙌🏼 I’ve been watching your channel for a while now and I love watching your videos for ideas to make my home feel more cohesive. Good luck with finishing the new place!
Nick, super entertaining video! I love Ikea for some things. They are almost basic and classic but there is usually a slight difference, sometimes I love it and other times I don't. But I was highly entertained with your commentary.
