You are right it could have easily been 3 or 4 nothing for Spain. It wasn't because Donnarumma was exceptional in goal for Italy. You did not even bother to giver him an honourable mention.
There is no Italian talent, it's not that they're not prioritising it. The lack of talent isn't just with Italy, it's football in general. Look at Brazil or any of the other big teams. Actually forget the big teams, take a small team. Scotland used to be able to field a team full of talent, now they can't play a simple bit of football. No one is even aware of the state of things because everyone keeps believing the trash out there is not only as good as previous generations but better. And why do they believe this? Because they heard it on the telly. These players can't shine without space and a lack of pressure and even without pressure and plenty of space they can't cross a ball or put a ball onto a man's head. Up your expectations and maybe they'll try to match it.
@@DonQwantsyou You think so? Williams Jr was the better player on the team and missed a sitter. He took players on and made things happen but once again it was far too easy to get space and all you had to do to get a shot on goal was run at the defender, who backs off, cut inside and shoot. If you're particularly impressed by that Spain team and performance then I don't know what else to tell you.
Saludos 👋
Not really spaletti has outlined the day and half rest not being sufficient enough. It wasn't a case of Spain being that good.. they didn't score after all only through an own goal. U could clearly see every Italian player was not match fit or ready.. bad preparation on managers part. Italy will come back sharper ...😉
It is so reassuring to hear three pundits who clearly watched the same match as me.

Italy is now a second tier futballing nation thanks to SERIA A prioritizing foreign players over Italian talent!
