No surprise for me. Historically, Italy are quite poor when it comes to defending their titles. 1986 WC, 2010 WC and 1984 Euros. The Italian national will win a title and then go to sleep for several years. They have never set the world on fire by dominating world football.

From close range Ita miss hitting the post. You can say Swi should have won 4-1, but it also could have been 2-2. And for that Swi won’t go past the last 8, wait and see.
While a team of grannies could give the Swiss a tougher fight, there's no evidence to suggest England would be. They've been playing arguably worse than Italy and, at the very least, equally as bad. They also haven't won their game so stop getting ahead of yourself.

England, by contrast, sent them a written invitation to come back into the match. Well done, Switzerland. Well deserved. When do we get to see Shakiri again?

Murat Yakin who has been under fire has done a sterling job with his tactical plan and selection flexibility. He has used his SQUAD perfectly thus far.

Why are people so supprised about Italy losing. They were horrible in the group phase and got dominated against Spain.
They don't have a Pirlo to play those decisive passes. It was all very predictable from this Italian team.
