This video truly is special - its the first adventure clip from a big brand that encourages people to enjoy nature with a genuinely small environmental footprint (i.e. no vehicle based transport). This takes earning your turns to a new level. Well done and thank you!
Peter Rowed i recommend you watch the webserie “Bon appétit ski”, épisode “bio”. Normally they offer English subtitle. They are going skiing through the alpes using bikes only ;)
@@anthonyrogers8427 Take a look at the credits; only two shooters, one who is on the trip. I'd assume the other one was as well, or in a tag car, which is still the footprint of heading down to the east side to ski for a weekend.
These guys are truly insane!!! Hard core insane. It shows when you have the right equipment and the drive, you can accomplish what you set out to do. Thanks Patagonia for taking us on the journey with the guys.
Corona virus brought me here. Thank you for this video. I wish I could go on a trip like that when all of this is over. The spirit of adventure is strong on this one.
Somehow I just bumped into this video, even though its 3 years old! I love this mission. It shows the true heart and soul of splitboard mountaineering, and just human powered stoke. Hell yes Nick and friends! :)
"With an average grade of 8% we were in for a beating..." You need to go bike the Ozarks and east coast stuff. Excellent video dudes - awesome to see the creativity. Bike touring is the best!
Being familiar with many of the climbs in the Sierra, an 8% average often means there are many sections in the double digits. Many of the Sierra climbs are well over 10 miles in length. That and the altitude which is often above 8000 feet, some above 10,000 feet. I've ridden in the east too. Not saying eastern stuff isn't tough, it's just apples and oranges.
That is an epic journey right here in our backyard. Great video and story. I drive up and down 395 a few times per year, and I can't imagine riding bikes up and over all of those passes.
Awesome video, It would be nice to see more advertising like this with actual people just going on adventures around the US and not just models walking around looking pretty for a camera
What a life time experience! I wish to have No liabilities and the same mind set like these guys! The editing, music and narrator are great! Nicely done! Great job!
I understand the taxed mentally and physically.. after days of boarding I was sleeping in the back of my hatchy and I was literally dreaming while awake
Just wondering if Bob Hammer ever attended Educo Adventure school (Bob is mentioned in the credits of this fantastic video). If so then I think we attended together. That was a long time ago!
So rad. Special time indeed. What are the setups for carrying the skis and splits on the bikes??? Would love to hear about the setups involved as would love to get an adventure similar to this one day! Keep ruling, Inspire others to Inspire themselves!

a whole camera crew is following them but you’re right when you say compared to other brands...
