As a semi-pro painter, I approve of this message. Also, never beat the divvil out of a smaller, more delicate paintbrush. They're like children, expensive, precious, sensitive, and deserving of good care. You can beat the divvil out of any chip brush, though.
(Beat the devil out) Or the old ones, cause they’ve been around the block… can take a lickin’ n keep on ticking? 🫣😂😂😂 I couldn’t help it. Your comment made me laugh out loud! I know, I know… they’re delicate too & I love my Gma no matter if old age makes her say crazy things! 😂
😂 yes, I have really expensive, delicate, precious brushes here in my studio! Have to go look for the brushes I used to use when I had art workshops for very young children (up to three years old). The children were precious, delicate, sensitive, but they needed strong, safe, steady brushes to express themselves freely on the paper in front of them. I remember a child with his painting telling about the baby in his mother's womb that died. Twenty years later, I met the mother by chance who told me that many years after the painting workshop they talked about how important it was that he was allowed to paint the family's trauma
@@charlotteriessen1391 Sturdy, strong brushes that can take a beating for kids. Save the delicate, expensive, Taklon, pig bristle, and fox hair brushes for when they've grown into them. Would that most parents treated their children that way, and the way you treated that child. Art's something I grew into; I wasn't encouraged to do it as a child, or taught, or really even allowed. Now, as an adult, I spend several hours a day painting.
Loved Bob Ross, and the influence he gave me as a child! I became quite the artist, and in the sixth grade was honored by having my pencil sketch of Abraham Lincoln framed and displayed in our school's hallway. I don't draw near as much now, but went on to develop so many more talents, which saved my state of mind from the evil woman that brought me into her narcissistic world. I'm good with lots of alone time, as my ability to entertain myself has always been my greatest achievement. I hope that my fellow childhood sufferers out there have pulled their own gifts out of the depths of despair as well, and know their own worth isn't based upon the early life mistreatment. We are more than that, and the strength it took to survive our nightmarish existence will show, if we can find the right tools to nourish it!!
Who knew it was even possible to experience such an extreme belly laugh-better still- at the cost of the same pack o’ hungry ghosts (aka C-PTSD) that’ve too long ravaged and confounded us-stealing exactly this kind of spontaneous crack up?! Patrick, just in case no one has told you today-you’re a bad-ass (and better still, a hilarious one). I am so grateful you’ve been so willing to share not only your journey/healing processes, but YOURSELF, as it’s just a joyful thing to behold. Thank you-for all of it. 🤣❤
Omg I’ve been watching you all year and so grateful for your messages as I keep working through childhood stuff, but THIS is the video that made me finally comment! 😂
I love this so much- seeing this side of you that so visually (and courageously) "walks the talk". I think one of the reasons you resonate with so many of us is that you've always walked the path of authenticity- and you've inspired and enlightened me along my own path for some time, but this... This is truly one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen- to see you- you with your extraordinary intellect- simply allowing yourself to be joyful and playful. 💙 Is this what's on the other side of healing? Joy? I've never been more inspired💙Thank you
Having a really rough day because I randomly remembered a bad memory involving my older sibling and my dad (from adulthood) and it's just got me in a terrible way since yesterday. This helped me laugh a little, so thanks
Thank you! I've adopted the "who who who cares" owl to silence those pesky ruminative regrets that creep up on me in the witching hour. It's highly effective!
😂🦉🌙hoo-hoo-hoo cares… “beat the devil out of ‘em” (Alice Miller’s description of the poisonous pedagogy immediately springs to mind) you packed so much into this short skit with subtlety and humor.👏🏻🙌

@@charlotteriessen1391I love this, it's so good on many levels. Thank you for giving kids a space and seeing who they are and what they need.
Absolutely priceless!!! Love you, Patrick!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Keep up the comedy for sure!!
"Who, who, who, the hell cares about all that stuff??"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂 Complete with the "beat the devil out" of the brush at the end.
