This was fascinating. Spot on that almost everyone used or carry knives and a 10 inch Bowie was not always the best choice.
Thank You!
When I briefly did armed security, I kept the schrade Push dagger behind my magazine pouch for use in my off hand in weapon retention. Great system, love that knife.
Very cool!
That’s one of the knives I used in the video! Very affordable. It’s probably my favorite.
Being a long time martial arts guy, I loved seeing your brother and his wife in action. Now, an idea to look into. How about fisticuffs in the Old West? There was a scene cut from Tombstone where Wyatt Earp trounced one of the Cowboys. Kurt Russel wanted to film it in Hollywood style whereas the original director wanted to shoot it period correct for the time.
I'm working on a Boxing in the Old West, so we'll see how that works out. Thanks, Greg!
@@ArizonaGhostriders I’d be up to seeing that one!
@@hardheadjarhead Brother, I've got a friend/subscriber who has done some studying on it, and we're meeting tomorrow. We'll see what I come up with.
@@ArizonaGhostriders I would also very much enjoy pugilism in the old west. I don't know how accurate it was but I enjoyed the inclusion of the pugilist character in young guns.
@@ArizonaGhostriders did anyone study and use other martial arts besides boxing?
I love your brothers sense of humor.
Yeah, it runs in the family. Thanks.
Thank you. Not everyone does!
@@hardheadjarhead😃
I've always been more of a stiletto/shiv kind of guy, but there's no denying that push daggers have a long and colorful history. Fairly effective too, probably the easiest blades to use if someone is already familiar with how to punch properly. I've known some old-school lawmen to carry one behind their badge or a mag pouch to give them something discrete they can get into action in a hurry if someone tries to grab their gun.
Great little knives
Ha! That was a great episode. As a knife maker I love learning about this stuff. Thanks to you and your gang for the entertainment this morning ☕️
Yes, that is great you do it. You might not like my blade because it was made in Pakistan. However, if you've made one or some other Old West style knives, let me know, I'd love to see some pics!
@@ArizonaGhostriders I don’t do any old west type stuff, my style is more modern although I love the knives and guns of that era! I’ll try and send you some pics but not sure how that’s done
Very good. Got to see some family and wife. Great one!
Thank You!
Santee and family, all possess the "bent humor" trait, nice!!! Looking forward to the next visit!
HA! thanks.
This was a great episode. I love all the family in this one. I was waiting for a Crocodile Dundee scene. Ha. Thanks Santee. Fun times.
Ha. Coulda used that!
This was a very pointed episode. I loved it!
HAHA!
I love push daggers for some of the reasons that he gave. While they are illegal in many cities, they are also a great choice for someone driving through a city. One can hold a push dagger between the fingers and still grip a steering wheel. One needs to be careful with where the hand goes, but one can drive a car and have the knife ready to deploy. If a thug were to break a window and reach into the car, the driver could just make a fist and stab or slash the approaching hand.
Nice!
As ALWAYS among the amazing video clips, pics, audio snippets, demos... This channel provides constant entertainment, and shares info and knowledge, with us. Also, kudos to your informative brother and sister-in-law, Santee. FANtastic👏🤠👏
Wow, thank you! Much appreciated.
Man, a push dagger is a nasty weapon. It's so intuitive and fast to use. Basically requires zero training and does significant damage in all the same places you would normally punch.
Yessir. Little to know technigque needed.
Will & Fink: "Your one-stop-shop for the winning hand. Whether you won the game or not." 😎👍
Yep
I love push daggers. Anytime you can hold your knife and something else without discomfort is a win.
Right?
Carried one as a "Get off me knife" for many years in law enforcement
Thanks for your service, Kevin.
I just want to say how much I love your channel and look forward to it every Saturday morning. It's obvious how much work you put into these professional presentations and I love them all. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much 😊 Means a lot!
I've had one for years. I don't leave home without it. I appreciate you and your videos.

I think this is your best video yet. I love it.
Glad you think so!
Great video Santee! Thanks for sharing that clip of the shoes being thrown at G. W. Bush. I laugh every time as W himself laughs.
You and me both!
That "choke you for real" might be a gag, but having experienced a good rear naked; lights really do start to go out fast with that one and its rarely portrayed that way, so kudos to you
He appreciates it.
I see humor runs deep in your family. Great topic. Thanks, Santee.
Thanks for watching!
My character in SAS shoots carry a push dagger as a merchant. I fixed the sheath so I can fasten it to an inside lined pocket for my wallet.
COol!
Loved this episode!, thanks for introducing us to your brother, seems like a cool guy.
You're welcome
This kind of dagger is my favorite type of defensive edged weapon. They can be very concealable, fast to deploy, easy to use, difficult to defend against(all knives are but this one just a bit more so in my opinion). Shame on the politicians who have passed bills to prohibit these in so many places. I would take mine everywhere if I could.
Out West I found that pretty much every state is OK with them.
Great demonstration of how to use the push dagger.
Thanks!
Awesome video Santee. Very informative and entertaining. You have a wonderful family. Cheers!
Thank you kindly!
Really like the lighthearted mix of humour and information here, keep up the good work :)
Much appreciated!
Love it and keep ‘em coming kind sir.
Thanks, will do!
GREAT VIDEO SIR,AS A KID IN THE LATE 50S. I SAW THESE DAGGERS IN SOUVENIR SHOPS IN THE FRENCH QUARTERS DOWN HERE WHEN WE CAME TO TOWN TO SHOP ON CANAL STREET. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR WIFE

Another great video Santee, on a favorite knife style! It was awesome to see the wives making an appearance in this one too! Mrs. Santee's "pew pew" always makes me chuckle!
Thanks!
Wonderful video! Love how he basically said "umm only ya'll call him Santee". Like " My baby brother and his dorky buddies making up names for themselves...shaking my head. And they think he's cool!" 😆 Well yes, yes we do! Lol. I really enjoyed seeing all of the family! Thanks!

Awesome episode. Learned something new as always. Your brother is a bald bearded version of you with the same great sense of humor. He is a very funny and edgy guy. 😊 Like your red and black vest.
HAAHA! Thanks, Joe.
Steve has the perfect facial hair for this channel, he fits right in as the brother back east that went in a different line of work
great job Steve, you are a treasure to fighting
Wow, thanks!
What an entertaining video. Well done to all the characters.
Thank You! Glad you learned something, too.
That was awesome. Never heard much about these daggers, but they look pretty cool. Ordered one for myself. Thank you for the info Santee.
Right on
In Germany this daggers are illegal since 2008, and as you can think, knife crime has not stopped. Importing hundredthousands of men from aggressive cultures into Germany caused a very high number of knifecrime in last years, compared to 20/30 years ago, but politicians in my country are blind to reality, but liking ideology.
Interesting. Sad, too!
@@ArizonaGhostriders : I, Brittas boyfriend, am a conservstive german. But i am simply angry about german policy of last 30 years.
Germany’s whoooole and historical culture is extremely aggressive and violent. How can you blame violence in Germany on solely immigrants?
@@dvinedavis2008 : Germanys culture is violent. So , compare the number of wars, fought by HRE as a whole ( Reichsexekution) , the number of wars of German Federation ( Bundesexekution) to the number of wars, fought by France, England and USA. There are rather few decalations of war by HRE or German Federation. Most of wars had been inside of HRE (up to about 1520 also Northern Italy was part of HRE). In case of Thirty Years War it started as an innergerman civil war, but then many foreign powers intervented on protestantic side ( France and Sweden with troops, England and Netherands with money ) to weaken Empire and Emperor. In fact, due to be divided into over 300 states, both Emperor and Empire had been weak since end of 13th century. This Thirty Years War was basicly over arround 1630s, but due to Intervention of foreign powers it lasted up to 1648, and the great death started with this, a third of my nation died! After Thirty years war, Germany, especially the regions where the war happened, had become poor, many settlements of my homeregion, had been uninhabitated ( for example Häringen settlement was uninhabitated until second quarter of 18th century). And in this situation french ,sunking' Louis XIV attacked and robbed Alsace away from Germany , and during his, in Germany called Robbery Wars' his troops burnt and robbed dozens of towns and villages especially in Palatinate and along the Rhine, but in 1683 also my village between Stuttgart and Ulm was plundered by french troops. This, and the suffering caused by napoleonic wars, caused a hate in Germany against France. Nobody speaks of french ( and swedish) crimes of war, but when in 1870/71 after half a thousand years the french had to fight a fair fight ( one united France against one united Germany, with no third power /Sweden, Ottoman Empire/ falling into the back of Germany), then we germans are called bad people.. And in 19th century in all european countries Natonalism, Chauvinism and Militarism ( even in Sweden and Switzerland, neutral countries with militia armies, the armies had very much influence) grew to a before unseen level, a bit later Kolonialism reached also the new nations Germany and Italy. Now, tell me why English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Portugiese colonialism is good, but german colonialism is bad? Also tell me if stealing the red indians their land, overwhelming hawaiian monarchy by US settlers is OK?
When wwl started, the USA declared them neutral, a lie. They supported England, and they said : Armed german merchant ships are warships, but allied armed merchantships are no warships are no warships, they need this as defence against U - Boote. In wwl german troops did crimes in Belgium, true, but belgish non uniformed fighters also did crimes. Same thing in wwll. It is true that german army ( Wehrmacht), armed NS organisations like SS or Gestapo did crimes for ideological reasons , i an atheist, don' t like crimes done for political or religuous extremism reason, so i am sad about the things happened ,in german name'. But: : I also don' t like lies for reason of ,political correctness'. In case of this mostly muslim asylum seekers i am rather angry. The fact, thst i have to pay lazybones with my tax money is one thing. But Germany is my homeland, i, a german citizen, have to respect the laws of my country. I expecct, that also foreigners respect the laws of my country. But: In my country i have never heared, that german men raped muslim women, but especially since 2015, when Mrs. Merkel let hundredthousands of uncontrlled muslim men into my country, many girls and women had been raped by this muslim invaders, and some women, i am Brittas boyfriend, told me , how angry they are about behaviour of muslim men . In my hometown this asylum seekers caused a violent revolt in public swimming pool ( Freibad) and some women said the police, their ten/ eleven years old daughters had been tuoched by this muslim asylum seekers. In case of sexual crimes this muslim men are overrepresented, and also in case of knife crime. But politicans, and mostly left wing newspaper and TV journalists try to cover this.
Same here in France mate, same thing for firearms laws, the number of firearm crimes has not decreased here because criminals do not follow the law, only citizens suffer these laws without being able to do anything while they follow the laws
Such a great video Santee ! I loved it. Steve is awesome and would be a welcome addition in future productions.
Thank You!
Awesome as always 👏 Guest spot also Awesome. 🤠👍
Thanks again!
You know, I never knew they had these during the wild Wild West! Hahahaha! I always learn something fun from your videos Santee! Happy Labor Day Weekend my friend! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank You!
The old west day's is on Saturday, thanks to you guys ! Waiting for more.
Our pleasure!
I've always been crazy about nice since I was a young kid. I've had many collections and sold them all. My collection now is around 2,000 pieces. No junk all good stuff. Every time I get one of these knives in my possession I get people that will pay me stupid money for it or trade me something really cool for it. Anytime I see one I buy it. I had one that was built into a belt buckle and a guy traded me a pistol for it. Also had one made by Benchmade and I walked into a shop with it and the owner loved it. I walked out with about six really nice knives. Maybe I should start making these things people really love these.
Knives are pretty cool
Good to see you guys
Thank You!
That really was a cutting edge piece of history. Very pointed on the subject but you really pushed thru it.
Thanks, it was just a little slice of Heaven
Used one of these for years, best knife for beginners in self defense
I'd say!
Super great video this week Santee! And I like your brother doing that martial arts stuff that was pretty cool. 🤠🤠
Thanks 👍
Cool topic for a video Santee, or whatever those other folks call you! I have a modern push dagger somewhere! I visited the Cowtown museum a few years ago, cool place.
Very cool. I'd like to go one day.
I never liked push daggers, contempt prior to investigation.
Then oneday i found a screwdriver in the same configuration, it was crappy so i kinda abused it, but ramming the tip into a block of wood i was surprised at how stable it remained in my grip.
That small fact changed how i look at this type of blade.
Thanks!
Ouch and mayhem you all did it again fun and well done!! That AGR logo watching over your brother nice touch ... My bet is his wife is a capable adversary as well.. Good Show!!
She is!!
Love this video. I carry one, never knew it was a old west thing. Awesome!!
Yay!
Thanks for your loyalty santee hope you are well interesting video as always thanks for sharing 🤛
Always
Awesome. I've been singing the praises of the push dagger worn on the side opposite the of handgun for a few years now. I'm too old to learn how to "knife fight". The push dagger lets me fight with the same techniques I've already trained... just stabbier.
Yes!
Amazing video
Thank You!
Good night, Steve. Great video buddy.
HA!! Thank You!
Another great video from Santee! You kick butt brother 🤓
Thank You!
This keeps getting better and better. Thank your brother and his wife for us. I'm still a fan of the pew pew at the end.
Glad to hear it!
LOL brilliant, funny and informative!
Glad you enjoyed it!
One thing that was not said, is that with a push dagger in your hand, you can still grab your opponent while the knife is in your hand. The blade doesn't have to be very long to be effective. Every major artery except one can be reached with 3inches of steel.
That was said by my brother at 4:15
From a design standpoint the main advantage to push daggers in my mind is grip. It can be reliably pulled out as hard as you need to after stabbing something. A blood covered hand could more easily slip off the handle of a knife during a fight. Lending to a push daggers ability to stab something as fast as possible without worrying about losing it.
It's advantageous for sure.
Thanks for the Plug!
You're welcome. Thanks for what y'all do.
@@ArizonaGhostriders Taking people's money by dishonest means? You're welcome?
This made my day
Good!
I've literally owned every push-knife on your brother's table at one point in time. Handy little things. One particular company makes the best modern-day examples. No worries, Santee. Won't give them free advertising on your channel. Will say though, if your Glock has run dry and you're forced to use it as a club, yeah; situation: Seriously Folked Up.
At that point you start singing Peyton Parrish’s “Valhalla Calling” and hope to die a heroic death…because you’re done!
I would say. I've heard that from military fellows.
Nice production
Thanks 💯
Razor sharp humor again. Enjoyed it very much :-)
Greets from the Netherlands 🌷🇳🇱, T.
Glad you enjoyed it. LOL!
That's one weapon I wouldn't want to be hit with. I've worked with some former police officers that said they feared knife wounds more than they did gun shot wounds.
OUch
Another excellent and funny video Santee!! Not sure how useful sticking a small sharp object into the side of your pants your brother did, if he was walking around or about to sit down but if was sure very interesting video!!!
He was demonstrating the placement. It would be in a sheath (they are always in a sheath). No need to put a dull trainer in a sheath.
That mosaic pin at the center of the handle really gives it a little something extra, nice find.
Thanks. It's probably not American made, but it's more historically accurate than modern American ones.
Great video Santee! That’s your brother alright. 😁
You got that right!
I was totally unaware of this weapon until Barnes/Berenger in Platoon thanks.
I forgot it was in there until someone mentioned it to me.
At first I thought, "There is no way that is Santee's brother." Then he made a joke about having an "edge" with your knife and I recognized the bloodline immediately.
Planning on hitting a cowboy days festival further east within the next year, Santee! I will let you know when and where ahead of time. Wichita is unfortunately a bit outside of my wandering area for now.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy that festival, and keep me informed!
I carry a push dagger as a neck knife along with a boot knife every day. Wouldn't leave home without them.
Cool!
It is important to note when it comes to push dagger type tangs are it is easy for your fingers to slip off and cut your self if you strike something hard like rib cage when it comes to defensive knife scenarios you want to try to target the soft parts of the body like neck midsection eyes throat that sort of stuff try to stay away from hard boney parts
Thanks!
Great Episode Compa!!! After watching this You convinced me to buy the Cold Steel FGX Push Dagger, the Polymer made one, as a backup in places where metals are noticeable and forbidden but you need to be able for defend yourself.
Yes you do
I bought me a push dagger in Honolulu many years ago. I was looking at it and accidently drew blood. So I HAD to buy it. A much more modern ''tool'', it had a lock back to keep the blade in the T-position, or if released, the blade will sweep 90* to become a straight in-line knife. Double edged. The black leather sheath could accomodate the weapon in either mode. The clip fits it inside a tall leather boot very well. The clincher was the scrimshaw art of a fully rigged clipper ship on the white Walrus ivory handle. One of my favorites. Not really 'Old-Westian' unless you're James West.
That is COOL!
Nice of you to include family in this one. Especially when he's qualified to teach about a certain subject. Great video today.
Be safe out there, and take it easy man. 😎
Thank You!
I always enjoy your videos this is a good one I have plenty of nice knives. Never thought of carrying a push knife
Thank You!
That’s a beauty you picked out.
