The annoying problem with skipping Season Mode matches to progress faster was that you had watch stupid loading bars - with the same BGM music on loop for every skipped match - depleting between the skipped participants until a predetermined winner was randomly selected. Also, unless you picked a marketable name (i.e. a main eventer or high mid-carder), you would go months on end without having a match for your selected low-level talent (i.e. a low mid-carder or even jobbers that would be viewed as Hall of Fame legends or likely future nominees nowadays) to compete in.

Honestly wish 2k would take note over how popular the older smackdown games used to be the fact you could take your favorite wwe stars through season mode and if you chose to use a caw not be stuck with only being able to use a caw , the graphics are god awful now but the gameplay of the older wwe games in my honest opinion was so much more enjoyable and hooked you wanting to see what happened next

Another not so hidden but a cool Easter egg. When fighting in the bar area there is a poster on the wall which happens to be a picture of the cover for the first SmackDown game. Also a Cool fact not only did it get a platinum release with the WWE logo in the PAL region but here in the US this game had at least 3 different prints. The first being the original black label game with the original disc. The second being the original greatest hits version with the silver disc & lastly the 2002 reprint of the greatest hits version that has the WWE logo & a white disc.
I got this game when it first came out. I was a happy kid. This game was loaded with content and I loved Season mode and unlocking all the stuff. I still play it to this day. It's STILL fun! I've even done some modding and added my own attires to the game (a long process but worth it)

You've forgotten to mention that to unlock EVERYTHING you have to play for 5 years in season mode. Skip the matches or play them, whatever, after Wrestlemania of the year 5, you'll get the message, that you;ve unlocked everything and all the ???????? mark moves and parts will be unlocked.
I swear to God one time I unlocked Kane with alternative attire without sleeves during season mode. I was playing on psx emulator and decided to lost progress and it never happened again. Did anyone else got to unlock that too?
I absolutely love this game, and I didn’t even have it growing up. The amount of content added over the original is incredible, from wrestlers, new moves, et cetera. To the little things like being able to actually hit diving finishes reliably. It seems like they had a lot of fun creating this game, and I always come back to it. Another note, something I just realise is that the vibrations are different depending on whether you hit someone or get hit yourself. As a blind gamer, this makes a heck of a lot of difference
There's also hidden stables you can make. You can make the Rock n Sock connection with their entrance, Hardcore Holly and Crash also have a stable entrance. You can make the Brothers of Destruction using the stable entrance "The Big two" Undertaker will do his one knee salute while Kane does his fire summoning pose. This is an odd one but you also do a Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho stable with the entrance "HBK and Y2J". Also I put Billy Gunn back in the DX stable which will feature him with Triple H, Road Dogg and X-pac in certain cutscenes in Season mode.

In 2000 my dad (just recently awarded visitation rights) bought me a PS1 and a copy of Warzone and Smackdown 2: Know Your Role. My entire gaming rum on the PS1 was without a memory card. So, every other weekend I would get to go to my dad's house and play Know Your Role and Warzone, starting from the beginning every time. I think that's why I am patient enough to deal with the tedium of 2K's Universe Mode. Beyond being a landmark game for wrestling, just thinking about Know Your Role takes me back to my childhood. That game was so good that when I think about my life ar 7 years old, I don't think about school, friends, cartoons, Pokemon, or Happy Meals. I think about grinding away every two weeks just to unlock Stone Cold Steve Austin.

You can also get the ladder and climb it go to customs and make your guy do the ski taunt he then would float in mid air and you could do this to go out side the audience arena I found this out as a kid
The game goes off of the SmackDown 1’s engine. Look at the back of the cover and you can see the namebar going through changes as well as the Ministry Undertaker putting Mankind through the Hell in a Cell roof. The Undertaker’s Ministry attire is an unlockable attire for create-a-superstar. However, these aren’t the only parts that can be unlocked. Others included Kane’s attire in SummerSlam 2000 (minus his mask), The Godfather, SmackDown!1 attires for Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Edge, Christian, Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley, Chris Jericho, An unused Undertaker head (likely for Season Mode), Stevie Richards, Mideon, and Viscera’s SD!1 Attire, just to name a few

I don't remember it being outlined in the game anywhere...as I found it on my own by accident one day. But you could pull weapons from under the ring. You had to have a weapon in hand, then go to the apron on the outside and press R1 + Direction of the apron you're facing and it would replace it with a random weapon. I always did it until the game gave be a title belt.
Evil Zone was very underrated and the one that shocked me the most. The game wasn't finished at all in my opinion but the story mode was great. That's wild learning that a game I owned was inside of a game I owned and that they're related

The Ministry of Darkness Undertaker was used in older builds and trailers of the game and can be seen putting Mankind through the Hell in a Cell on the back the of game’s case. He was later revamped to his American Badass persona to keep up with the times and due to complaints from Fans.
An earlier build was released online just the other day with a lot of different attires (no RTC and Ministry taker) along with Big Show and Ken Shamrock being selectable
Smackdown 1 bugged me as a 10 year old, the logo's on the mats, the arena's not being quite right and only being able to go back stage on the raw is war arena, no tag team moves. it felt quite limited. Smackdown 2 I loved, the small details like seeing the announce tables and putting people through them, being able to throw people off the stage, the raw and smackdown arena being SPOT ON and the amount of added match types and expanded roster. It will always hold a special place in my heart.
nah, DUMMY files are meant to be on the disc. they're there to fill up space on the disc. lots of weird stuff has been found in DUMMY files over the years, and they're meant to be there to fill up space. they're only ever removed in revisions if the DUMMY files were publicly found to have contained obscene content, as was the case with one of the old PS1 PGA Tour games. but yeah, no, nobody forgot to remove anything.

I absolutely love this game, and I didn’t even have it growing up. The amount of content added over the original is incredible, from wrestlers, new moves, et cetera. To the little things like being able to actually hit diving finishes reliably. It seems like they had a lot of fun creating this game, and I always come back to it. Another note, something I just realise is that the vibrations are different depending on whether you hit someone or get hit yourself. As a blind gamer, this makes a heck of a lot of difference

There's also hidden stables you can make. You can make the Rock n Sock connection with their entrance, Hardcore Holly and Crash also have a stable entrance. You can make the Brothers of Destruction using the stable entrance "The Big two" Undertaker will do his one knee salute while Kane does his fire summoning pose. This is an odd one but you also do a Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho stable with the entrance "HBK and Y2J". Also I put Billy Gunn back in the DX stable which will feature him with Triple H, Road Dogg and X-pac in certain cutscenes in Season mode.

In 2000 my dad (just recently awarded visitation rights) bought me a PS1 and a copy of Warzone and Smackdown 2: Know Your Role. My entire gaming rum on the PS1 was without a memory card. So, every other weekend I would get to go to my dad's house and play Know Your Role and Warzone, starting from the beginning every time. I think that's why I am patient enough to deal with the tedium of 2K's Universe Mode. Beyond being a landmark game for wrestling, just thinking about Know Your Role takes me back to my childhood. That game was so good that when I think about my life ar 7 years old, I don't think about school, friends, cartoons, Pokemon, or Happy Meals. I think about grinding away every two weeks just to unlock Stone Cold Steve Austin.

You can also get the ladder and climb it go to customs and make your guy do the ski taunt he then would float in mid air and you could do this to go out side the audience arena I found this out as a kid
The game goes off of the SmackDown 1’s engine. Look at the back of the cover and you can see the namebar going through changes as well as the Ministry Undertaker putting Mankind through the Hell in a Cell roof. The Undertaker’s Ministry attire is an unlockable attire for create-a-superstar. However, these aren’t the only parts that can be unlocked. Others included Kane’s attire in SummerSlam 2000 (minus his mask), The Godfather, SmackDown!1 attires for Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Edge, Christian, Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley, Chris Jericho, An unused Undertaker head (likely for Season Mode), Stevie Richards, Mideon, and Viscera’s SD!1 Attire, just to name a few

It’s not just a re-printed game case or cover art, the actual disc says wwe too and the decal on the cover says wwe, all gameplay is still WWF logos tho

I don't remember it being outlined in the game anywhere...as I found it on my own by accident one day. But you could pull weapons from under the ring. You had to have a weapon in hand, then go to the apron on the outside and press R1 + Direction of the apron you're facing and it would replace it with a random weapon. I always did it until the game gave be a title belt.

I used every code from gameshark on the game there was a code to wrestle naked that only worked for create a wrestler. And yes as a teenager I used to make naked female wrestlers. Just like I used the 20 tables at ringside code. And unlock everything I used of course.

WCW vs NWO Revenge, WWF No Mercy, SmackDown Know your role and Here comes the pain, WWE Day of Reckoning 2, are the best wrestling video game titles ever created.
The Ministry of Darkness Undertaker was used in older builds and trailers of the game and can be seen putting Mankind through the Hell in a Cell on the back the of game’s case. He was later revamped to his American Badass persona to keep up with the times and due to complaints from Fans.
An earlier build was released online just the other day with a lot of different attires (no RTC and Ministry taker) along with Big Show and Ken Shamrock being selectable

Smackdown 1 bugged me as a 10 year old, the logo's on the mats, the arena's not being quite right and only being able to go back stage on the raw is war arena, no tag team moves. it felt quite limited. Smackdown 2 I loved, the small details like seeing the announce tables and putting people through them, being able to throw people off the stage, the raw and smackdown arena being SPOT ON and the amount of added match types and expanded roster. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

nah, DUMMY files are meant to be on the disc. they're there to fill up space on the disc. lots of weird stuff has been found in DUMMY files over the years, and they're meant to be there to fill up space. they're only ever removed in revisions if the DUMMY files were publicly found to have contained obscene content, as was the case with one of the old PS1 PGA Tour games.

I love No Mercy, SVR07 and WWE2k14 but Smackdown 2 is my favourite wrestling game of all time.
