Never owned this game, but played it at my friend's. When i saw the zombie Santino costume, i was like "What the heck is this? Why does Santino have an undead attire?". My friend pretty much said what this video did; Undertaker's story mode is weird.
It’s very weird that a majority of the roster from SVR 2009 was not in SVR 2008 even though they were a part of the roster at the time. For example, Paul London and Brian Kendrick, they were wwe tag team champs from 2006-2007, the Boogeyman and Jillian Hall which they could’ve copy and pasted their models from SVR 2007, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch which were at the roster at the time were not in the game when they could’ve copy and pasted their models too. And why they couldn’t add new characters such as Deuce and Domino? I swear SVR 2008’s roster feels so incomplete when you look at 2009’s roster.
Both rosters feel incomplete compared to previous games like SvR 2007 and SvR 2006. Not to mention SvR 2009 didn’t have any legends not even in the form of DLC.

Another point regarding theme songs is that Kane's theme was changed to his 97 'Burned' theme when he was still using Slow Chemical at the time. It made absolutely no sense and they didn't even try to time his pyro with the intro of the theme.
I still play my copy on my Wii to this day, the motion controls just make the matches much more fun (albeit a bit easy). Jericho's Road to Wrestlemania is great and so is the one for Batista and Mysterio because it's multiplayer.
I can answer a few. The jericho theme was supposed to be used as his regular theme so WWE sent that to thq but plans changed and it never debuted. Bushwackers, doink, earthquake, and Vader were released as dlc for 2009 because legends of Wrestlemania sold so poorly. The back of the legends box says something like add on content, but dlc never came out for it. It was to be these guys. At the time there was a guy on gamefaqs that claimed he was a tester for the game (I know, I know). He almost PERFECTLY stated the final roster 6 weeks before the ign roster reveal. The only ones he named that didn’t end up in the game were Savage (confirmed by thq that WWE had him removed late in production) Mankind (confirmed by thq that WWE had him removed late in production) Bushwackers Earthquake Vader Doink Only forum guy I’ve ever encountered that was probably telling the truth.
Candice Michelle did return in 2019, in fact, she was the second woman to ever win the 24/7 Championship. Last appearance of Victoria who returned in 2021 in the Royal Rumble. Evan Bourne and Layla made their debuts in this game. Create-A-Finisher also made its debut.
I’m pretty sure we used that Jericho theme cuz it’s the first WWE sent us (Jericho hadn’t officially returned at the time). Then we added it to all cutscenes. When they sent us a new theme, it would have taken extra time/money to change it. And I for one liked the other theme, so I requested we leave it in. (My recollection could be wrong)

Was the tag-team RTWM a trial? I wouldn’t say that. It was added last, in part cuz my boss Cory Ledesma wanted a tag-team story to go with the marketing and gameplay direction. I was all for it, and did my best to write/design something fun for single- or multiplayer.
Anyone else remember playing SVR 2009 on the Wii instead of the Xbox 360 or PS3. It actually had half decent motion controls (definitely better than SVR 2008's controls anyway).

One of the main reasons I prefer the Wii version of this game, I have it on the PS3 as well but the Wii version is just superior for some odd reason. Yeah, the graphics are a bit worse in areas but the motion control gameplay and some small touches such as wrestler themes make the Wii the best option for this game. It's the ONLY SVR game I prefer on the Wii though, the rest are better on the PS3 in my opinion (or the Xbox 360 but I don't own one so not sure how they play on that).
When you said "New and exciting feature" I thought you were going to mention the boring and tedious career mode LOL . But I did enjoy the Road to Wrestlemania mode. They weren't terribly, long had good stories and you could unlock some really cool stuff. And yes the Undertaker storyline was batshit crazy but a lot off fun

That was probably because of Legends of Wrestlemania being released back in March of that year and with a game revolving around legends already out they thought that there was no need to include them on SvR09.
This was my first smackdown vs raw game and I enjoyed it very much it is a special game for me but I hated gling outside the ring in normal matches also wished they kept GM mode. Road to WrestleMainia in this game was awesome
Honestly, SVR2009 is incrediblu underrated. The only thing that holds it back is that GM mode was removed. I honestly didn't mind as long as there was something to it make up which was the really fun RTWM.

I always get bad rating, many Superstars sends me an message saying there angry at me, and I don't earn enough money when I make an Main Event matchs But I'm depressed that the PSP version didn't have the features of Importing music in the game since I have Need for Speed: Pro Street from my uncle and it do import MP3 Music (sadly, it can be only be playable on menu) But there also a few PSP games that can import MP3 Music but I don't know which of them have that feature

The inability to add custom music on PS4 when I could easily do it on PS3 was such a letdown. My friends group has stuck to playing WWE 2k14 for that reason to this day. NWO Hogan coming out to Voodoo Child in that game is chefs kiss

What really shined about WWE SvR 2009 was the option to import the SvR '09 roster into the WWE Legends of WrestleMania game.
But the legends of wrestlemania controls were god awful🤮they should’ve made it so you could also import that roster to SVR09

Ok unpopular opinion SVR 2008 and SVR 2011 were the weakest in my opinion 😂. They had no good storylines and the gaming was meh most times 😐.
I never played GM mode so much because I was terrible in that. I always get bad rating, many Superstars sends me an message saying there angry at me, and I don't earn enough money when I make an Main Event matchs
But I'm depressed that the PSP version didn't have the features of Importing music in the game since I have Need for Speed: Pro Street from my uncle and it do import MP3 Music (sadly, it can be only be playable on menu)
But there also a few PSP games that can import MP3 Music but I don't know which of them have that feature

Tbh svr 2009 was a pretty much solid game both this and svr 2007 was very good for me because 2009 had pretty much guys should have been in svr 2008 but I was mad when they removed Gm mode like wtf but yeah svr 2009 is pretty

And chris Jericho theme song is different on the ps3 and Xbox 360 and he has is correct theme song on the wii version
My PS2 copy has the wrong Jericho theme song as well
Just checked and Chris still had the slow version of his theme on the Wii version. Even when using his costume B.
@@3.2187_Kilometres Odd because I own the game on both the Wii and PS3 and at least in the Wii version of the game I own Jericho uses his regular theme. On my PS3 version of SvR 2009 his theme is certainly off though for sure. I literally had both consoles hooked up to different TV's side-by-side and they were quite a bit different.

1. In the game she is presented only as Candice something that in real life she was not always called Candice Michelle
2. His song is not at the same level as his entrance, when he makes the movement of opening his vest.
3.The movement of opening the vest in the video game does not open anything, since they did it without a vest, but it has the movement ..
Snitsky’s entrance in this video was from Svr 08, you can tell because of the old Raw stage

The inability to add custom music on PS4 when I could easily do it on PS3 was such a letdown. My friends group has stuck to playing WWE 2k14 for that reason to this day. NWO Hogan coming out to Voodoo Child in that game is chefs kiss
