Hey everyone. I am the composer of this remix. This discussion is pretty interesting lol.. The SPC700 outputs at a max sample rate of 32KHz. The sample playback speed goes up to 128KHz, but that doesn't mean these voices are impossible. Can the SPC700 output these vocals with this clarity on an actual SNES? If the sample fits within 52K (with 10K reserved for echo). This remix I made that you're hearing is basically a what-if scenario where if you reserved 2 SPC700's for the 16 channels of audio, and then applied one SPC700 per vocal sample lol. In other words, yeah this song is impossible on a vanilla SNES and was made with Impulse Tracker and applied an SNES echo to it (Using Plogue's chipcrusher 2 VST), and it took liberties, but if the SNES had 16 channels, no memory limits, but kept the FF6 samples..and still output at 32KHz, this is how it would sound.

I think next time you should try to compose it with some limitations. It's not bad, but I was expecting something to sound a little closer to what I would expect if I were to use the original hardware.
safer sephiroth looks actually SICK its kinda weird to think that sephiroths's sprite here has more detail than his ps1 model (besides the whole 3d thing)
@@thehedgecatunion2550 In fairness, like most of FFVII, the translation is a mess, and it's suppose to be Seraph Sephiroth, not "Safer". But yeah, he's kind of a pushover, considering his ultimate attack can't actually even kill you in the western version of the game since it's %dmg.

There's lots of ways to fix it, but even as a kid it seemed strange his "super ultimate 2 minute long move" was... basically harmless other than the confusion/slow, and that's easily remedied by giving someone a Ribbon.

I just remembered that a Seraphim is a type of angel with almost no human-like body and wings, which is what Sephiroth looks like, and Sephiroth’s name almost sounds like Seraphim. I’m only noticing this now and it just makes sense to me. What a genius idea the designers must have though of when making this boss. It makes me like the game even more.

Tales of Phantasia was one of these rare snes game that use a song for the opening of the game, instead of just reading the song from the file like a normal midi or mp3 file do but instead, it’s directly live streaming from the cartridge in real time because they don’t have the capability to reproduce the voices so… that is how they managed to pull it out.
Me too. But it was going to be an N64 title if PlayStation wasn't a thing. Makes me wonder how it would've looked then since the N64 was graphically more capable than the PS1, but still lacked in a lot of other spaces which made the PS1 beat the N64 by a margin.
Sephiroth is as powerful than ever, unleashing the supernova in a radius meters, centimeter square, and the supernova has a big and gigantic diameter measures. Also with a speed of million kilometers, however, humanity is doomed thanks to Sephiroth. And i like this song as well.
I think if they really tried, they probably could have released ff7 in 1995 or 1996 at the latest. The best snes graphics look more detailed than the early ps1 models, even if the ps1 has better sound and more animations. They probably could have used this kind of music, even with the chorus, since they were good at emulating real chorus singing and real music. Like with Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong, ect. Their stuff was emulated, but that music sounded like real music.
I want to see a real romhack game of Final Fantasy 7 SNES using the Final Fantasy 6 SNES rom engine I'll make one with a team of gaming developers or possibly donate money to the people making one.

Amazing. For some odd reason, I'm picturing the lyrics in my head replaced with the faux-singing that FF6 famously had, namely during "Aria di Mezzo Carattere" and Dancing Mad part 2.

But unfortunately, it's on the NES engine and the high pitched music and blocky sprites haven't really aged well, it is fun but I want to remake Final Fantasy 7 on SNES romhack from the Final Fantasy 6 SNES graphics but to do that I need to find a team of people and an office building to help me make the game right and I would have to pay Square Enix copyright fees since it's a copyrighted game.

What's beautiful about this is that this can be pulled off on an SNES. Sony was the one who did the sound chip for the Super Nintendo. So a seamless transition is likely if this were ever done as a pixelated remake.

Seeing how great FFVII could have look as a 16-bits RPG game speaking of graphics and sound, maybe even better than the actual polygonal 3d game, makes me notice that FFVII was already destined for being one of the best videogames ever, no matter what.
I wish there was a 2d version of ff7 I'm not a big fan of its attempt at 3d, it was a bold and great choice on squares part, still a great game however
There is an unofficial Chinese or English version of Final Fantasy 7 on NES but it's very pixelated and has high pitched music. I hope there will be a Final Fantasy 7 SNES romhack built from Final Fantasy 6 SNES engine game soon.
What the difference between your other remix and this one? Aside from the obvious huge quality boost with this one. Cause this one sounds much more closer to the original? I hear other soundfonts apart from FF6
Nintendo and Sony *did* try to team up. Sony was going to make a CD system for Nintendo, but their deal fell through (largely due to Sony's greed) so the system that *would* have been a Nintendo console ended up becoming the first PlayStation
One thing that soundfont remixes of One Winged Angel never seem to get right is that they're always afraid to include the Latin choir. I know it doesn't seem technically feasible but if you ask me, the choir MAKES the song. Even if it's on NES it just doesn't feel right without the choir.

I'm not an expert but NES supported sound channel for veery low quality voice samples (wich are almost unused) so I think why not?
