- Woody Olsen is probably one of the most knowledgeable person I know regarding lost treasures of the Uintah Basin. He has probably forgotten more than most people ever even knew (myself included).
Without guys like Woody, our history and legends would be lost forever.

I enjoy your videos having been born and raised in the area. In my younger years I chased after rainbows looking for that elusive pot of gold the Spanish left behind. Every waking minute I wasn't at work for 13 years I hiked the trails and followed the clues and have seen many of the same things you show in your videos.
I wanted to explain a symbol you showed at 3 minutes 47 seconds into your video here. It was a trail maker a very dear friend of mine used in his youth. He dodged the draft during the Korean Conflict and his trail makers range into Canada. They can be found in Idaho as well as Western Montana. Reason I know this is I showed him a picture I had of the same making and he laughed and explained it to me. I won't mention his name here for protection of his family. He has been gone from our world as we know it a number of years now and I miss our conversations.
Keep up the good work and thank you for documenting the things you see.
Cats, thank you for your really cool comment and watching the video's. "Chased after Rainbows", LOL. Very true, sometimes I think this is exactly what we are all doing. Albeit, they are some fun and beautiful rainbows to chase.
I am familiar with your amazing friend and his marks in trees and rocks. I will be doing a video about him sometime this year. He was a remarkable man and I wish I could have known him in real life. His initials are; S.A.
If you ever have any spot you would be comfortable letting me film and documented to share with everyone (keeping the sites location protected of course), send me a private email. I put my email at the bottom of all these videos.
Thanks again, luv your comment.
fabulous video ..... the more i see and hear about uinta and utah and arizona makes me feel drawn to the area , its facinating ......love it
Thank you. The Uintah Basin is truly a beautiful place. I hope you have the opportunity to visit someday.
You can live your whole life here and not see everything. It is really amazing.
Once again, thank you for a wonderful video. That first carving at 3:49 was made by a prospector/ treasure hunter back in the 1970s. I cannot recall his name, but you'll find that same carving all the way up to Canada. There is a video about him on youtube. I think his nickname was "Cat".. Woody looks like real treasure. Those old guys are disappearing fast. Would love to see an interview and hear his stories!
Yes it is and you are 100% correct. I think you watched the video I made about him. It's called, "Mines you can find and the origin of the mysterious CatFace symbol". Is this the video you watched?
Wow, is that your back yard? What a beautiful place to be proposed to.❤❤
I consider it my back yard, in reality it is really my "front yard", LOL. She enjoyed it 😀
thirty years ago or so, while hunting for elk. We found a quartz cave very close to there (500 yards) I believe it is know fenced in.
Are you talking about the cave down off the mountain on the way up to where most of this vid is filmed? If so, I think I know which one you are talking about and I believe the old rancher fenced it off.
i enjoy watching all of the videos that you've been producing
Comments like yours help keep me from getting lazy. Thanks Nick.

Great video Loved it!!💟
Thank you.
Beautiful photography.
Thanks Patsy. I would love to capture some of your stuff on film.
I wonder how long it took to carve out and dig the mines by hand. I can’t imagine doing it without dynamite
I know what you mean, those guys were tough back then!
Awesome Again
Thanks Darrell.
Cool Videos.
Thanks Rod. I finished editing #2 last night and will post when I get back to the house.
dude, your videos kick more ass than my vocabulary has the eloquence to describe. not joking
You sound like a really cool guy and would be a joy to drink a cold beer with. I'm really glad you liked the videos. I'm at a lake fishing now and will post #2 when I get back to the house. Thank you.
I like how you say much with little dialog.
Thank you sir. I try to mix them up a bit and have included more talking in the recent videos.
Those trees don't look very old.
Those trees are not hundreds of years old.
