    nice project man, Really slick. Thanks for the effort it took to put it all together and for sharing.

    Really cool project. I think I'll try to do a remix where the electronics are integrated right into the spool holder like the creality one (if there's space). Anyways, awesome work and thanks for making the project files open source!

      I'd love to see such a remix but that looks like a pretty tough fit. The functionality is perfect but I'm building a 4-spool dehydrating cabinet in the back of my Ender 5 Plus and there's only room for one display and the spool holders themselves. So for me (and others with multi-spool setups) a single display/controller for multiple spools would be even better (since maintaining 4 sets of profiles would be a pain, and only one really needs to be tracked at a time). Maybe add an LED on the spool to indicate which one is being tracked/displayed).
      That, unfortunately, is way more modification than I could handle myself since just following the instructions is already a big ask for me timewise. 😔
      But that would be possible, right? Maybe a PCB plumbed for up to say 8 units and some startup logic to probe for how many are actually present?

    Very neat. Im curious how one could make the value available via Klipper.

    Impressive as hell: some guy late at night in a small room comes up with a better mousetrap.... we're talking orders of magnitude better!
    And then freely & completely shares his hard work.
    Come on all you cheapskates, reward the inventor, keep the glory coming!

    Nice project! Please is it possible to buy the final product somewhere? I would need 10 of them :-)

      I'm glad you like it, but i don't think there's anywhere you can buy this

    When I say the creality digital spool rack I always thought it was lacking the ability to add profiles, so if you have multiple brands that you use, you could get these to save. Also, I don't use spool, I have mine on a container with silica to keep it dry.
    I think with basis on this, I can look at adapting this to have it on my spool box.

    very nice project, do you still have the order no. of the PCB board? the Gerber file is not sufficient for the manufacturer to re-produce and without the order number they are not able to trace the configuration

    • @interlinkknight
      @interlinkknight  Рік тому

      I don't understand the question. The gerber file is enough to order a PCB. You later solder the components yourself

    • @thomaskaiser6347
      @thomaskaiser6347 Рік тому

      @@interlinkknight seems its not enough for the Chinese manufacturer. Find their feedback "Hello,
      Thanks for your reply. We will refer to the former order. But we need you to offer the order number, which is unclear in the pictures. " - Anyway, it can also work w/o the PCB.

      I think you are confused. Download the gerber files that is a zip file. Don't extract the files. Leave them as zip file. Go to a PCB manufacturer like PCBWay and upload the entire gerber zip file. They will tell you how much it is and select the shipping method. That's all they need to manufacture the PCB and send it to you. There's no order number to search for.

    Hello,
    does it matter which load cell (2kg, 3kg, 5kg, 10kg or 20kg) with HX711 module I use? I would like to take the module for 2 kg.

    • @interlinkknight
      @interlinkknight  Рік тому

      The module is the same. There is no such thing as HX711 for 2kg. The load cell does have a rating, but in my experience for this project it doesn't matter. All of them (1kg, 2kg, 5kg, etc) they all work fine

    Is it possible to include more than one spool to the Unit at the same time?

    • @interlinkknight

      Not really, but you can modify it the way you want

  • @tamgaming9861

    Sorry to ask, but why is this important to have? If my spool is empty, my system pause automaticly, then i change the spool and the printing goes on.

    • @interlinkknight
      @interlinkknight  Рік тому

      That's a fair question. My printer does the same but it's never perfect. I can always see the line where it did the change of spool. Sometimes this doesn't matter, but other times I have to print something big that I want to be as perfect as possible, and in those cases it's super useful to know if I need to use a new spool, or keep the one I already have open.

      @@interlinkknight Ahh okay - yes for this i paid more when i bought my prusa than you with your creality - i never had problems or saw the lines :-) But i can remember when i had my CR-10 ... i had the same problem. Happy that it helped you 🙂 Very nice design btw.!

      @@kevinkonowalec4251 Yes i can understand this. But for this i have 1. build my own filament-extruder with touchscreen and so on - means i have always full spools of filaments. But when i know i have to print a bigger parts, i just use a new filament spool. And if it isn't enough, the 3d printer will pause, then it turns automatically off after a while, and if i continue the print with a new filament spool, then it is doing it so well, that i really cant see easy, were it has paused and continue after the print is done. But i like the idea and the project Interlink Knight has made. He was the guy who teached me with his tutorials so many things. Like to code my display for my filament-extruder and so on... i wished i would knew only 50% of what he knows 🙂
