Most lawyers wouldn’t help like that in a real situation because once you give legal advice you are legally considered responsible for there case and if anything goes wrong or is misrepresented it’s your fault. Since a save was reloaded, that means that effectively the timeline was turned back. Therefore in the end result of things Faendal was sentenced to death for a crime that he hadn't actually committed in that timeline.
Technically the fondle in that timeline never killed him! He never committed a crime because it never happened because Doug died to him and was sent back to his last save. Rest in peace Faendal.
I want to point out that Doug's girlfriend got a text that said "I'm breaking up with you", but it also mentioned "playing ham ham" and she was so jazzed to play Ham Ham Heartbreak that she just did not care. Her whole situation was just about those tiny hamsters.

i have come to a new conclusion. doug doug had jokingly metioned that faendal was blind as he couldnt see an enemy currently attacking him but, what if that was just it? possibly, faendal has severe or total blindness in both eyes. this conclusion solves a few problems such as why he wouldnt notice sneaky attackers behind him, especially during the swinging axe trap hallway. he likely has above average hearing, though, as seen when shooting the attackers outside the temple. this doesnt really need to apply when fighting the final spider boss as a bigger target is easier to hit. and so the killing of doug doug was likely just an accident. maybe because he heard fighting, in instinct he (not in recklessness may i add) shot his bow directly towards the commotion, killing whatever it was infront of him. to faendal surprise, though, he had killed his own companion. his intent was not to harm his companion, let alone kill him, and so his case can be valid. here, i rest my case. his conviction was completely false and the case was obviously rigged.
Fun Fact: Faendals AI recognised you attacking The Swift so he tried to help by attacking him, unfortunately his AI doesn’t account for the player being in the way so he accidentally killed you

If you select a Wood Elf (Which is what Faendal is) at the start of the game, The description clearly says that Wood Elves are the finest archers in all of Tamriel. So if we assume that Fondle has years, maybe even decades of experience under his belt, it’s hard to think that an elf who has a reputation of being among the greatest archers in Tamriel would just “accidentally” kill somebody. I rest my case.
In his defense though, DougDoug was right in front of Arwen, so hitting him would require some extremely difficult shot, something like sending an arrow right under his armpit or something like that. But, Arwen was turning hostile, and with how fragile DougDoug was, Arwen could kill him with as little as a light tap on the shoulder. To save him, he had to act quickly and under a lot of pressure. He attempted an impossible shot, because it still gave DougDoug better odds of survival than the alternative where he gets into a fist fight. So no murder, nor recklessness. I rest my case too.

People generally say Faendal is better since he’s the archery trainer, so you can pay him and then get your money back immediately, however if you’re wanting to be a thief, Sven is a better starting companion since he has lower morality and will happily help you steal things.
faendal was my legendary buddy, he saved me countless times, either by sacrificing himself to distract the enemy or help provide the extra damage. In my early game, he even took out a dragon almost singlehandedly. he was my best friend in sky-rim. we laughed, we suffered and i even married Camilla so i could let her stay with faendal if i needed to do something alone. he was my brother. I used to use one or the other for The boethia ritual cuz i never talk to them Funny story, once i was doing the boethia Mission, and I fast traveled to riverwood to go get my sacrifical pawn in not so shiny armour, Sven, only for a Dragon to attack, killing him instantly. Tbh, i wasnt sad, but, after fast traveling to whiterun and having the courier hand me his inheritence i did crack a smile of grief for a brief moment. Then i got the fist fight dude from morthal to take Svens place. Alls well ends well

I've never had this many issues with Fondle he's actually been my pack mule up to level 40. 2 things to note: He is a justice boy so he won't pick up stolen stuff or steal and if you kill someone innocent he will be hostile (which includes this thief for some reason). He is an archery instructor up to 50 so you can pay him take your money back and repeat. Awesome vid btw 😁

I love that almost all of Dougdoug's best videos play out like "Regular show" episodes in terms of tone. Do a silly, simple or stupid-sounding challenge in any game of his choice, almost always featuring or at least including chat's company, and then watch it turn into a dramatic story.
Best examples are the otter birthday, chat fighting itself (the alphabet competition), both of the 1 hp skyrim challenges, and of course... The Ploob civil war.

I like her, I genuinely enjoy having her around, but damned if I don't keep accidentally shooting her because she keeps wandering in front of me. It only seems to happen on hunts; she's surprisingly good at staying by my side within cover while we're trying to stealth snipe someone. Funniest mishap was during a goat hunt when she walked in front of me last-minute and the second arrow failed to shoot over her shoulder. One arrow through both temples and the other sticking out of her nose as she stood there yelling about how we're on the same side

Can't believe I never knew Faendal was a follower, I've never delivered his simp letter
Same with his rival, Sven. People generally say Faendal is better since he’s the archery trainer, so you can pay him and then get your money back immediately, however if you’re wanting to be a thief, Sven is a better starting companion since he has lower morality and will happily help you steal things.
faendal was my legendary buddy, he saved me countless times, either by sacrificing himself to distract the enemy or help provide the extra damage. In my early game, he even took out a dragon almost singlehandedly. he was my best friend in sky-rim. we laughed, we suffered and i even married Camilla so i could let her stay with faendal if i needed to do something alone. he was my brother. F
I used to use one or the other for The boethia ritual cuz i never talk to them
Funny story, once i was doing the boethia Mission, and I fast traveled to riverwood to go get my sacrifical pawn in not so shiny armour, Sven, only for a Dragon to attack, killing him instantly. Tbh, i wasnt sad, but, after fast traveling to whiterun and having the courier hand me his inheritence i did crack a smile of grief for a brief moment. Then i got the fist fight dude from morthal to take Svens place.

I've never had this many issues with Fondle he's actually been my pack mule up to level 40. 2 things to note: He is a justice boy so he won't pick up stolen stuff or steal and if you kill someone innocent he will be hostile (which includes this thief for some reason). He is an archery instructor up to 50 so you can pay him take your money back and repeat.
