No way would I have ran that call seeing the dog living like that. It’s evident that they have no consideration for their dogs or their own wellbeing with those living conditions. There’s no obligation to help people like that, no heat or otherwise. Still a big fan of your work Curtis.
@@jthonn I'm sure there is enough formerly airborn oil and particulates from cooking and other houseold tasks in that dust to ignite. And in a house with a chirping smoke detector, and to make that even worse, young children are present.
I don’t know about other peoples thoughts but it irks the hell out of me when I see dogs chained up outside. It’s one thing if they are at work but being home and they are chained up outside makes me think that they only have them for when they need them. Over my years I’ve had big and small dogs and they always stayed in the house unless they wanted out to run around in the backyard
Certain people are not fit to even take care of their own families, imagined having animals at home. Is sad see a dog not knowing what it is to have a loving family that can care of them. Poor dog, I hope someone reports them. 😢
Those Rheem flame sensors are hard to get to. I take the top plate of burner assembly off (with flame roll out switch). That exposes the flame sensor below and I clean it in place.
Would have been worse but for the flex line. The flame sensor indicator is nice, but that shows that the designers/engineers know that the sensor is a high failure part, so why do they not make it easily accessible?
@@cwrowe flame sensors rarely need to be replaced, but definitely need to be cleaned every year or so. Over 30 years of installing and repairing hvac I can probably count on one hand how many flame sensors I’ve actually had to replace.
So im sitting in my house watching this video with my dog next to me. He jumps up( my dog) walks a few feet away and turns his head at me as soon as we both hear that smoke alarm. I continue to watch video with sound and he goes into another room. I cant stand jobs like that in this video. Seeing someone treat a dog like that frustrates the crap out of me and is hard for me not to say something.
Even without the light on the board, if you have flame for a few seconds then no flame, most of the time its the flame sensor. Clean with scotch brite, never sandpaper.
0:38 - Dog chained to the gas line? A gas line is one of the last things in this would I would chain a dog to... Watch out for "land mines!" 💩 1:19 - Smoke detector... Of course. Yep, but we are the bad guys if we stereotype them. My grandmother use to say that no matter how much money you have or how poor you are, that you can still be clean, and that soap is cheap.

Thank goodness that was an easy one. The flame sensor is the cleanest part of that unit. Nice job
Good job Curtis that ac coil is probable clogged with dust thanks for the video
lol, no doubt
That annoying smoke alarm low battery alert.
Damn that is a dirty furnace! And a fine installation 😮
Some folks just have no pride. To top it off, plain lazy. Curtis does many jobs I would walk away from, but that money is still green.
I would have had stop a change that smoke detector battery
I'm surprised that board isn't shorted out from all the dust.
IKR, the whole thing may go up in smoke.

What idiot chains a dog to the gas line....." I don't know why the house exploded '
They can't take care of themselves, how can they take care of a dog? I'm sure it goes to the vet and gets all it's shots and all.
Wouldn’t be an HVAC GUY video without the beeping smoke alarm. Lol, keep up the good work Curtis!
Nice place your in
Curtis, thank you for explaining what you’re doing. I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I can learn.😅
I have learned a lot from Curtis.

Looks like you have an apprentice. Cute kid
Nice chippy call, well done Curtis 👏
Thanks 👍

Extra money for cleaning and a battery for smoke detectors
Early in the heating season, 90% of no heat calls are flame sensor issues.
The fire alarm beep lololol
if it was me i would perform a public service and change that battery for them.
I always check the ground on the gas valve in addition to cleaning the flame sensor.
Nice job Curtis.
Imagine what that blower wheel looks like 🤢
Rough life for dogs living in those conditions chained up outside. Nice repair. Thanks for the video and stay safe out there.
They chained their dog to the gas line!? That is so dangerous!
Why doesn’t the chirping smoke detector surprise me? Why are some group of people allergic to batteries?
Super dusty furnace, needs a cleaning.😮❤
Yes it does!
It would be a waste of time and effort, because it will not be maintained.
Holy fook! These people breathe that crap in for years! That furnace ain’t seen a cleaning for some time!
Great work curtis 👍✌️
Thanks
Good video….👍
Thanks 👍
Nice and easy one.
it’s heating season once again
they are smoking that stuff like crazy in there
I never seen a flame sensor that was that buried……
have seen

flame rectification at it's finest
Bet the evaporator coil is a mess, too.
You are suppose to use a $ 100.00 bill to clean those properly .
Curtis is aware of Ted's flashy flame sensor cleaner. I think everyone is.
Good fix!! Good luck on the game tomorrow 😅. Your team flat whopped the stuffing out of mine lol
👍👍👍
How Old is the Furnace unit that has this issue ❓❓
Maybe give a business card and a 9v battery
Nice. Was that just a piece of Scotchbrite you used to clean it?
Yep.
Yes it was
They should be put to n jail for treating those animals so badly what’s wrong with these idiots do.
Look how they live, the dog doesn't stand a chance.
Dog is better off outside, f-ing pigstye!
Flippin bees attacking ya!
dry heat pack
1/2 way into your video, how did you know the sensor needed cleaning? 😂 That whole furnace needs to go through a car wash.

air, fuel , ignition
Curtis- what do you call that little orange gadget that seems to turn on the heater?
Supco door switch
Furnace door switch magnet
Der- tee😂😂😂
Doing the dog poop boot scootin boogie?
lmao
if the fan works I go from there

Is the flue pipe from the furnace fitted out side the flue pipe leading outside? Isn't that dangerous?
You should buy a case of 9volt batteries and offer to change them out in the beeping smoke detectors for $20 cash. You’d have lunch money every day.
somtimes you have to go deeper but I hope not
why it’s not fire ring
Thank you Curtis, i feel some one should make a report to the RSPCA in regards to these unfortunate dogs 🤔
How did it get that dirty, don’t they believe in clean. Yuck.
They obviously don't change the filter.
Is that flex line through the housing allowed by code?
I know it's not code outside, not sure about indoors. Thing is, who's coming around checking codes? Unless there is some new construction of some type going on, which I doubt by the way things look around there.
True just hate to see that flex line vibrate against the sheet metal.

The jail is not big enough for all that are doing it.
no heating
mybe air pressure
Dog chained to gas main. That's not a wise thing to do.
Tell lady to stop making kids and spend some time cleaning
You could sell 9 v batt
Shouldve changed the smoke alarm battery too
I know what that place smells like just by the way the dirt looks inside the unit
Curtis works in places that you need a gas mask or even a Haz Mat suit.
Man you work in some nasty places and on some old nasty units... can't say i was shocked after hearing the smoke detector chirp.
Yep, but we are the bad guys if we stereotype them. My grandmother use to say that no matter how much money you have or how poor you are, that you can still be clean, and that soap is cheap.
Curtis, you should sell smoke detector batteries on the side ….that’s your money maker !!
I wasn't going to mention it. lol
OK who else thought it was their smoke detector.... LOL
