@@1dafirst I purchased this equipment 2 years ago, depending on the place where you live the price of these is now higher so maybe there are other options for the same price but nonetheless I would not hesitate 1 second to buy the exact same thing today.
I paired it with a pair of Monitor Audio Silver 100s. Sounds like Klipsch is brighter. I like bright sounding setups. Enjoy! My goal is to match Silver 100s with a Roksan Blak...
No subwoofer plus going through lousy UA-cam compression and captured on a phone mic! WOW! man I want to come to your yard for the Real McCoy ! Nice job 😉
and still its only mp3.. try out tidal hifi for a month, totaly worth it, and U get master quality, or just a cd quality songs, pink floyd 24b remaster aswell
...and then we can complain about the TV as a jittery mess of a source even with CD quality, then the power and interconnect cables, room treatment yada yada yada :) It's a rabbit hole you don't want to go down, enjoy what you have knowing that for every 5% of sound quality increase from this point on you will pay double the price of the whole system...
Any cable that's oxygen free and also I went for 12 gauge. You can stay within 12 & 14. The leaser the number, the thicker the cable. So 12 gauge is thicker than 14
I have the Rp600m's and biamped them with two A-S301's. If you don't need the CD direct or USB inputs, it is a much cheaper way to go and you'll get 20 watts more per channel. It sounds awesome.
no subwoofer? looking forwrd to have these set up! my mind is already fixed to as 801, im just looking to the right speaker to pair w/as 801 untill i watch your vid
Yes 100% no sub and it doesn't need one. Recorded with a Samsung Galaxy Phone. So you didn't get the real details. I do have all the Rp series. 280, 450c, and 2 R112sw, but I decided not to hook them up. I'm very happy with this. The Yamaha A-s801 made all the difference. The Klipsch are amazing speakers
tunic you are right. Subwoofers sucks up mid ranges but I do a have an equalizer which I flatten the sub Bass and increase the mids so I get even dispersion. Will be adding the rest of the speakers soon. I’m comfortable with these now and haven’t gone to pick the two subs and floor standers ..
I am thinking of pairing this amp with Klipsch RP-600M... may i know if you used the EQ as a pre-amp? and are you using the dedicated USB in put to tap in to the built in DAC ?
UA-cam compresses the quality and the shape of the room will also effect the way his microphone makes these sound. Always try out in a store if you can
I'd like to utilize my vintage Carver AV 100 receiver, 150W per channel RMS, 8 ohms driven. With these speakers being so efficient would the Carver have too much power and be a bad match?
Depends on how loud you want to drive them. It was a Vintage Denon that made me buy this Yamaha and I'm so thrilled . Carver has one of the best vintage Amps and you will be happy with the Klipsch. I believe it's better having more amplifier power than the speakers demanding more than what the amp can give. Less power from Amos will damage your speakers. More power is good but don't drive it till it fries your speakers.
Let's take this theory which I know some sensitive people might criticize me for it but hey! It's just an example. The amplifier should be a man and the speakers, woman! So if the man has enough energy and more power to satisfy the woman, there won't be issues. But! If the women tend to need more than the man can give, what happens.😁😁😁😁
Peter Tia ....oh man, you're gonna catch some flak for that analogy. But I agree with the power input vs. demand thing. Better to over feed your speakers than starve them. I also have an old JVC receiver 50W per channel that I'll also hook these speakers up to, should I buy them. I heard of guys running 35W per channel into them and being thrilled. I was going to purchase them over last weekend on Amazon. They were $299. Now today they are $328...dammit!
@@Dano-MX5 😁😁😁 it's what it is. Many people are very happy with their receivers like you said. I never thought these 160M could give me the satisfaction till I hooked them up with this Yamaha. I was using them as surrounds on my previous setup. I am still going to use them as surround once I go and pick up my RP-280's and the R112sw subs. They were not I tended for this but trust me, it's like they doing better each day and because of that I'm not in a rush to go pick it's big brothers. I feel like I have a sub hooked to it. What I'm going to do now is, sell my Lexicon MC-12 & Emotiva UPA 500. I will then buy the Yamaha RX-A3080 for my movie watching and then Use the Yamaha A-s801 for my music!!! Hopefully on party days, my neighbors won't call the cops as someone using PA speakers at his place! Lol!! Anyway it's not about loudness but clean sound and details. Non fatiguing speakers ...
Peter Tia , your critique of these speakers is appreciated. These will be used solely for music in a 2 channel set up in my 13 X 15 man cave. I'm 67 but have been a rocker most of my life, ever since dad brought home an Elvis album. As a high schooler me and a few classmates had a cover band doing almost exclusively Stones, Doors and Animals stuff. We all went to college or the Army and that ended that. My first major purchase as a young married guy was a pair of Bose 901s and a used MacIntosh amp and pre amp. Since then I've had various iterations of speaker and amp/integrated/AV receiver set ups. I'm just looking for a simple 2 channel set up that provides great sounding, clean and Un-colored music. I have come close to really simplifying things by buying the KEF LS50 wireless....but I've had this wonderful Carver receiver packed away in a box in the basement for many years. I got it out a few weeks ago and hooked it up to a pair of vintage Advents that I had re-foamed the woofers long ago and packed away and I fell in love with the Carver all over again. So I've ruled out the KEFs, mainly because they are $2000, and began my search for the best sounding bookshelf speakers at a reasonable price. I keep coming back to these 160s.
Peter Tia if you can just show a video turning the bihringer around so I can see the connections plz if it’s not any trouble ..or pic..I’ve Been looking on UA-cam for weeks and not demo or Tutorial
I own both lol check out my channel sold the as801 though 160s nested they don't fit good on stands at all to ratifying for me but sound good on air instruments you like the 801? Pull them speakers another 8-12 inches away from wall tilt them speakers in a quarter and leave covers on imaging will get real good
I have the same amp / speakers set up and I'm still impressed and very satisfied after 2 years.
How do you like it

Cheers! Just ordered my A-S801, can't wait for this weekend delivery. will be paired for the smaller R-15M II for the moment.
Has your amp arrived yet?
I have the exact same setup! I couldn't be more happy!
Neat setup you got there!
Sweet sounding amplifier!
My favorite Klipsch bookshelf demonstration. Period.
Mary Fortunato 😀😀your message is heartwarming. Thank you🙏🏿🙏🏿
Im using the same amp with klipsch rp8000f. Sounds absolutely amazing
Excellent video I recently have received Klipsch RP600'S and im thinking about that amp

Mine is in my bedroom, a little cramped, you have more room to breath, i know that make a big difference.
Well. I have the r600ms. Looking for a good intergrated amp for under 1000. I hear some say yamaha and klipsh are a bad combo...but this sounds legit.
People always have something to say regardless. It's your ears and money. Everyone has a different taste so no one dictates for me.
Yamaha is a decent brand, u should try it bro!
This will be the speakers I use when I one day dive into the Audiophile life!
You don't have to be an audiophile to own one.

if you had a 15 inch subwoofer playing at the same loudness as the bookshelf speaker you will not be able to hear any mid range sounds

Humdinger...Yamaha..!!

Sound metallic to me
Maybe because we are listening through computer speakers?

The highs are sibilant and harsh. Especially the hi hat. Perhaps it’s the microphone
How did you hook this up to the eq...I saw the back of the item and it haves weird connections
Directly from the player to the INPUT of the Eq and then from the OUTPUT of the Eq to the Amplifier

14 gauge with Banana plugs

Would the Yamaha s501 version do good? I mean, price situation lol, for my 600m, which is the new 160m of im correct idk
600m is 8ohms with 100/400watts (cont/peak) while the s501 is 85watts per channel
I think
Yes it will be enough to power the 600M as they are efficient
Is this in direct mode?
It is yes
