    Super video. Thanks!

    Excellent video, I'm ready now to tackle my sloppy shifter. Music was not the best but otherwise excellent. Think I will jack up the car a bit higher.

      Yeah, get it up high - I'd also pull the drive shaft. Also - The bushings and snap rings on that lock the knob and upper shifter to the main shifter are a pain, be patient!

    Great video, watched it so many times as I'm in the middle of doing this on mine. But what tool did you use to remove the shifter linkage rod that goes into the tranny? Almost impossible to get something in there with enough room to hammer

      @spuriouspseudo  Рік тому +1

      I didn't take the shaft that goes inside of the Trans out. Just that linkage that you see me get in place with the chisel near the end. To do it again I would for sure pull the drive shaft.

      @@spuriouspseudo yes the one you pulled and took out that pin. How did you do take the pin out?

    • @spuriouspseudo
      @spuriouspseudo  Рік тому +1

      I'm pretty sure I pushed it straight up with a punch... once the retaining collar is off. Might need a good soak in some penetrant. If i recall, there are two pins on the coupler, one is horizontal and one is vertical, this was a few years back, though.

    Good work, doing that job without dropping the driveshaft and exhaust takes a Canadian amount of patience!! What’s your preferred site or sites for 2002 repro parts? Is there a good Canadian one? I bounce around between the standard us ones.

      Hah, thanks - I wouldn't do it that way again... I haven't found a good Canadian source, mostly go Pelican once I can put together a good shipment.

    My 1974 was converted to a 5 speed before I bought it. My shifter is also loose. Is the fix the same for either transmission setup? Or similar? Thanks for the video

      I think the mechanics of the shifter are the same, but the plate that holds it all together is a little different. I think you have to modify length for the conversion. Also, I would pull the drive shaft, I will next time. A little bit of work doing that will make the job easier. Thanks for watching!

      It's a great job to do. Made a huge difference... if I had to do it again I'd pull the driveshaft

      About to do some vids on a adding a swan neck mirror to the passenger side, plus deciding between some Dellorto or Weber side-drafts... I know it's been a while, but I'm keen to get back into it! Thanks for the boost in motivation!

      You mean in the cup and ball assembly? I'll have to pull the c-clip and grease it up.
