Bravo Keco! I think you did a great job! If you decide to build the garage shelves, I will come down to Nashville and help you smooth out all the bubbles. I'm serious. Let's do this.
Make the room together! It already looks great and imagine the pride you’ll feel by doing it yourself. Plus the money you and time save from building it yourself instead of moducase Will get you more figures to enjoy.
@@1sxtbenny Exactly! I am one of those people that like to have the name brand thing. I was hesitant to make these shelves myself. I also didn't consider myself handy. I said screw it. I can make a case with the same quality as a Moducase. I will figure it out. I love my cases and it is that feeling of pride of making something yourself that makes you feel good.
KECO!! My dude, this video had me smiling from ear to ear 😂 I’m really glad you decided to change the narrative by stepping out of your comfort zone to build the DIY cabinet. I know you’ve mentioned time and time again how you’re not good with your hands but you just proved how capable you truly are by simply believing in yourself - it’s just like what Peter B Parker said to Miles Morales, “That’s all it is… a leap of faith” and I’m so proud of you for not giving up especially when it seemed like it was all falling apart figuratively and literally 😅 It turned out great especially for a first build, and like any skill in life similar to your incredible photography skills you’re only gonna get better at it the more you do it. It may have taken ya a month this time, but now that you know where to get the materials and how to construct it all, your next ones will be done much faster & cleaner. I may be biased but since you’re asking us viewers which path you should take, I vote for combination of detolfs for smaller collectibles and all-in-on Costa cases for 1/6 figures & vehicles. If it’s any consolation, that’s the route I took. I sold most of my detolfs a few months ago and just finished building 2 identical all-black cabinets in my living room this past weekend. Moducases are indeed beautiful cases but the wait time is too unbearable for impatient people like us. We both share the sentiment that tomorrow is not promised - a lot can happen while you wait 8 to 12+ months for Moducases to arrive, and then you gotta construct them anyways via tons of screws. With Costa cases, we needn’t turn a single screw, you can have them built relatively quickly now, and the money you’d be saving can be reinvested towards more figures / statues. By the way, if you do plan on building more custom cabinets but aren’t sure how to transport the large acrylic panels back home, it’s worth mentioning that I also own a relatively small car so I just rented a 9-foot long UHAUL van for a few hours and picked up the hardboards and large acrylic panels on the same day - so it’s worth looking into if you want large panels. Also I super glued the magnetic tape to the acrylic sheets since the adhesive wasn’t too great, followed by super gluing a few extra neodymium rare earth magnets to the corners for a stronger hold. Anywho I hope that all helps, and thanks for the shout-out. I truly am happy for ya and I can’t wait to see how it all turns out for ya in the near future 😊
I would save yourself the hassle and invest in moduspace… Your detolfs look amazing but the moduspace will help clean everything up and keep your room look less cluttered , give you more space and less wires to deal with … your setup looks good in the meantime while you wait for them lol 👍🏼 As a bonus you can always re sell those moduspace !
Sounds like you made up your mind already - build your own! Judging by your grin and tone of your voice, there’s a sense of pride and satisfaction from building a finished product. The major con is time = money and opportunity cost, but this is a hobby you are passionate about. I personally went the Moducase route recently and it was well worth the investment and wait time. But to each, their own. 👍
Great video! Here's another option- use both Costa Cases & Detolfs. Use the Detolfs for one offs & small lines, like the Breaking Bad set up and the Costa Cases for larger lines like Marvel & Star Wars where you may want more of a diorama/ Avengers Assemble type display, You can sell off some detolfs to offset the Costa Cases and still have a dope display. Which ever way you go good luck and have fun!
The new case looks great bro! I am firmly on team detolf as I do not like my figures lined-up looking like a class picture or a choir but for the large, bulk items like what you did the case is perfect. Well done, sir! :)
Definitely build your own cases, the feeling of mastering every bit and detail of the structure of your own display will make it unparallel. Like building your very own Batcave if you will 🦇. And to finally knock down on Moducase, and make your Kecocases far superior and no brainer, use the fact and well prethink/predraw before building, that you can custom build every case to the exact XYZ dimensions you want, and stack different blocks like a Tetris, to fit perfectly every angle of your collection room UP to the inch 😀
@KeCoCollects Do it ! Ideas are made to be share ! 😀 I myself am looking for display options of a small collection... Have you heard about the " Apextime" cabinets ? They were (not made by) Queen Studio at one or their booth. On our side of the Atlantic, our only French reviewer made a good description video about them. You can search UA-cam for "Virtual Devil Apextime" . They are pricy but might be cool to highlight One or Two figures in particular, like your 2 latest acquiered figures for ex. Have a great day 😀
KeCo, you're singing my song man! I too have been fascinated with Posing with Peter and Costa's DIY display cases, and I too am not handy. It's been about a month for me as well, I went with a rather large Husky 77" x 78" x 24" shelving unit from Home Depot and am picking up the acrylic tomorrow. I decided to go spotlights instead of the garage lights for a more museum look as I'll be displaying 1:1 scale helmets and props in this case. I'm in the process of ordering magnet tape now, it's pricier than I expected. Can't wait to get my vision realized. Hearty congrats on the completion of your first project. My vote for what to do in your room is a hybrid. Clearly the custom case you made fits great for the vehicles which would never work with Detolfs. I personally love your wall to wall Detolf look as it's very much a museum showcase, which when curated looks more elegant and pleasing to me than piling in a bunch of figs into a Moducase, but puts a limit to how much you can display. So I'd say have one section, maybe one wall, where you have the custom black shelves with vehicles and maybe logical groupings of themed figures. And reserve 2 or 3 walls of Detolfs of your favorite figures to feature, possibly limiting to 1 or 2 figures per shelf.
If it buys you more space at a discount then definitely go for it! Space is priceless plus they look great. I'm planning on going that route eventually
I’m a detolf guy all day long. I think what Will suggested was a great idea. The cabinets are way too busy. You can’t appreciate the figures the way they should be appreciated. With such a large collection of Hot Toys I would rotate the display every 6 months. Not only will it freshen up the display so you don’t become bored of it. It’ll give you the opportunity to handle and appreciate the figures more whilst coming up with new dynamic poses that really stand out. Whatever you do good luck.
You can do anything you decide to do! It is just a matter of discipline and persistence! Do it yourself those new expositors! In the end, will be better and you will be happier!
Outside of not having a way to get big sheets of acrylic I had the same things that bugged me when I tackled this project. I could see all the imperfections and wondered how long it would hold up lol. Yours looks great! Ultimately you have to do what works best for you but for me there’s just something about moduspace that I love and admire.
In your case it sounds like Moduspace would be your best looking setup in LONG run which is something you should think about. You're a growing UA-cam content creator as well, so your display means a lot to your content and backdrop of vids and live streams. If you plan to keep collecting for many many years you have to ask yourself, will you be happy with these self built shelves in a year or two? What about when they start coming apart because of the materials used like the felt shelf lining or the adhesives on the magnets and plexiglass? If all you need is extra time and some space for additional figures, why not build one or two more of these for now, to have space for additional figures that come in the next 6-12 months. AND go ahead, map out the room for moduspaces and purchase them now as well. This way while you wait for the next year to get your moduspaces in, you'll have these self built ones as temporary extra space to put figures in. When you finally get your moduspaces in you can break down all the detolfs and sell them. By then detolfs will probably be 160 dollars (LOL) new so you can sell these for basically what you purchased them for. And as for the two or three custom shelves that you built like in this video, you can either sell them locally or maybe repurpose them as garage shelving.
Awesome job Keco. Was inspired and motivated by Costa tutorials as well for statues! Costa the man🤘🏼👏🏼👊🏼 ! I think you should continue with the building brother! Amazing and keep up the good work!
I like the display separation and "scenes" that the detolf can set up, but I think the amount of figures you have and want may force you to find a new setup. I think the case you built looks great! As much as I like the detolfs, you may have no other choice due to the size of your collection. The single custom case should do for now but sooner or later you'll probably want to switch. I wouldn't wait for moducase personally either...
@@KeCoCollects It really is hard! lol. I am up to 67 figures now and I have 7 detolfs. I am thinking of making a change, but I don't really want certain figures mixing in with other figures as the detolf is perfect for some form of separation...
Great job KeCo!! Costa cases all the way!! As you build more of them, the better you will get at it. You’ll eventually perfect it and then you can go back and fix the first one or two that your not happy with. I’m planning to build my own as well! Good luck my friend. 👍🏾
Keco just like you I was in the same boat with trying to figure out how to step it up for my collection and I was starting to collect some 1/4” statues. I saw Pop Culture’s video first and I started building. After completing the project I remembered “Wait, I live in a two bedroom apartment.” Needless to say not a lot of room with 13 Detolfs and 9 Bestäs. I had no room to put my newly built case 😞. So it is now residing out on my little balcony just waiting…. However, after a year of being out there on the balcony there is still little to no dust on the inside lol. Then I saw Peter’s video and thought “Man he made it look so easy.” Haha ❤️
The journey of 1000 miles starts with 1 step. You've already done the hardest part. Now just replicate and you'll get an even better product the second, third time around. I fabricate for a living so it brings me joy to see people succeed in the trade where they may have formerly thought they couldn't and you did fantastic and gained a sense of pride in your work....all pluses! Build more Costa Cases, hes the man! You were the man but now he is. Its not you, its me.....I hope we can still be friends🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Costa Case"? What, there's a name? That's so cool. He's definitely inspired me and I'm also working on my own. Yes, take pride Keco in making your own, upgrading it over time to your liking and saving lots of money and time. Someone else has suggested keeping Detolfs for small lines and I agree. Best for 1-4 figures. Looks great, so sophisticated Keco!!
First off great video. Now i did this same thing & i made about 2 & 1/2. Now you can definitely make these look great. Especially with expanded foam pvc sheet. Those are a lot easier to cut for your backdrop. But honestly its just too much of a hassle to do all that yourself. You have to worry about the cuts for the pvc's and the cuts for the back panels. Also have to worry about how the lengths for each one because some might be different lengths on some depending on your collection. I personally believe moduspace is way worth it. You get exactly what you see. Plus its easier to build. Also you can add shelves that are easy to install just in case you need to rise a few figures. Moduspace is definitely a lot of money but i think for collectors its definitely worth the money
Costa cases all the way for sure, especially given that you have several figures (and now vehicles) that you want to display together. If you were the “one figure per cube” type person, I feel like Detolfs are more ideal for that aesthetic.
I’m glad you dropped the name of a place in Nashville to get acrylic. I’m about 42 minutes from there and have been wanting a moducase but can’t justify the cost or time. A kostacase if that is how you spell it sounds intriguing. Then I could buy some figures at the replay in my town.
You are deep in Detolf units. To start over will take time and effort. I think it will be worth it. I recall picking up my 1st Detolf. I was amazed at the low price for what Ikea were offering. Two years later, i owned 7 Detolf units. Based on experience, i could build them in no time! One day it hit me, the Detolf's had to go. I no longer liked Detolf's. They let dust in. Dusting at the back of a Detolf unit was difficult. Like you mentioned the wires on show bothered me. For the moment, the Detolf's are gone, my figures are back in their boxes (..as i am planning on moving home). The thing is, i am not a big fan of Moduspace / Moducase, as look cold (idea for Star Wars displays) remind me of aquariums. My future plans include building my own display. Quite how, i do not know, but atleast it will be unique ^_^
If I was you, I’d slowly replace the detolfs with the Costa cases. Take your time to replace each one. Perhaps even try to make different size Costa cases, I’m in the same boat as you and I plan to have a cases for vehicles as well as huge spaces for a big diorama display with clone wars figures. It’ll be significantly cheaper and you’ll be able to cater it to exactly how you want it. Think of the endless different displays you can create with your endgame figures, clone wars era Star Wars, OT Star Wars, Bat Cave display with the batmobile, Tony Stark’s workshop display with all the armours and gantry etc etc etc. Happy to see more and more people using Costas genius idea
What about a combination of Costa cases and Detolfs? I have a couple of Detolfs and some larger cabinets. I love the Detolfs for smaller displays (1 to 3 figures) and the larger displays for bigger groups (eg the Avengers). Personally, I’m not a fan of mixing characters on the same shelf of a bigger cabinet, so that’s why I think there is still a place for Detolfs. Also, you can hide the Detolf wiring by using some corner channel profile. That’s what I did and there are no wires visible.
Dude I just started collecting Star wars collectibles this year 2023 and my collection is miniscule and it will take years before I have half as much as you have dude you have an awesome collection.
GREAT FRIGGIN JOB!!!! Been putting this off for a while in favor of detolfs. I say diversify: build a few and place your prized items or characters you want to group together. Free up space in your detolfs an make'em classier.
You’ll get better with time … plus I used gladiator shelf’s they cost more but the shelf’s are already black and I just needed the backing and acrylic panels
Tough one. First, you costa case is awesome but your detolfs look amazing, they make space look bigger. Something to consider if you’re working with a small space. On the other hand, bigger equals more, so costa may be your way now that you are handy. Looking forward to see which way you go.
Hey Keco, I would start to curate the collection and eliminate figures you don’t need. Keep detolfs and build the costa cases for big things like the tumbler and as needed
Moducases all the way bro. Just bite the bullet. You can use that new case to put new stuff in while you wait. Although I do think you should consider selling off some of your less favorite figures. 300+ is a lot. You can use the proceeds to pay for an amazing moduspace set up. PS I ordered my Moduspaces in Oct. They should be arriving in July. It's not that long a wait anymore.
I think you did a great job Keco and should make more. More depth and height alone will open up better options for posing. Risers in the case will allow for more figures and options for future figures.
I thought about building my own case. But with my growing collection (I only have 1 Detolf and they've greatly increased in price.) and incoming vehicles, I feel it's worth paying the extra cost for the Moducases because it's gonna take up less space, and it's more customizable. Plus it's gonna look more professional and really elevate my collection...especially since I want a wider view of my figures, the DF series offers a taller case with those full/half shelves that I can add and remove as I like to better display/future proof my collection. The shelves that are really best for use with the Costa cases are short and shallow in comparison so from lower angles the view will get more easily cutoff. Also, I plan to have taller/ flying figures like She-Hulk and Captain Falcon...they're gonna need more vertical space as well as horizontal. Also, I intend to build teams and have them displayed in some sort of scene together...so I want them to have room to breathe while still being together and also separated from the rest of my pieces. For me it was a no brainer. Yeah it's twice the cost and a 6 month wait...but worth it in the end. But I'm just building my collection. I only have 9 figures at the moment...so for me I'll have room to grow and add more cases to the display as I'm doing so. If I were in your position, I would pick a wall in the room to add Moducases. Decide on a genre or whatever kinda display setup you want to really make the focal point of the room and put Moducases on it...if you don't wanna just go all in at once, that is. Or maybe, a hybrid of Moducases and Detolf is for you? I'm thinking about using my Detolf to hilight certain characters after I get my Moducases....ya know, rotate out occasionally and have some sort of "hall of fame" aspect to my collection where I display featured characters in the Detolf one per shelf and really let them shine on their own.
@@KeCoCollects lol sorry I think I kept editing and didn't finish my full thought before you read it...but yeah that's a huge concern for me. I ordered the Risers for the entire display so I could get it off the floor just a little extra.
Great job trying something new bro. I think the DIY case you made looks solid. I just got my Moducases after 16 months of waiting, however I should receive my second batch of Moducases in July, which will be an 8 month turnaround. I am super happy with them. They are clean and display my 1/6 figures and cars with ease. But they are pricey and the wait time can be tough. It’s nice being able to daisy chain the lighting. I can use two outlets for 12+ cases and I haven’t noticed them dimming at all.
the detolfs look great just have the new case for the largest items & rotate your displayed items ( i always have 15 figures packed away ) all the best.
You could just use Costa cases for vehicles (garages) and/or for larger dioramas when story telling is the objective. Detolfs always look great when character is the main focus. Great job on the case.
Love it KeCo! I’ve got a mix of displays in my room, I use the garage shelves to display sets/dioramas such as Endgame and use the detolfs for 1-2 figures such as a kingpin and daredevil. That could be an option for you, keep up the awesome work always enjoy popping in to the channel🤙
I personally think keep the detolfs & keep that custom case for the vehicles. 8:28 you can see the scratches on the plexiglass. I’m sure that’ll scratch up & get worse. It’ll be a pain to work with that much material.
Man that display case looks super clean! What if you split the displays down the middle and had half detolfs and half Costa cases for the bigger vehicles and dioramas.
I'm moving in a few months and my big plan was to take my 5 detolfs and combine them. I want to saw the sides off and basically remove the side glass panels so its open all the way across(keeping the left and right side panels for the two on either end) and then bolt them together. This is awesome though and seems reasonable. First time I've seen something like this in detail, definitely will check out Posing with Peter's video at some point. Also are these taller than detolfs? Do still plan to stack them on top of your floor shelving?
Peters video is great! They are a little taller than detolfs. About 10 inches more. I would love to find a way to "raise" them, but my current "risers" are too narrow and wouldn't support the weight
U have such a gorgeous collection! As for me I only have Wonder Woman Hot Toys and the old ones that I do have I sell it because the new ones are always so much better. But I do have one of each style/armor. I am also starting to customize some things to get it even better. About the video of cracked fake leather, oh well, wish I could help u. I do work with leather painting and recovering. The fake one is not so different from the real one - that btw - I do use the real leather for my cosplay skirt. I wish they had a Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman tho. The new Michael Keaton coming up this year Id really like to have it but if there was a catwoman... OMG!
@@KeCoCollects Love it. Of course I don’t have as many detolfs as you but still looks great. I’ll dm you on ig and show you maybe you can get a little more of grasp on what it would look like.
@@KeCoCollects Going to really really soon im doing a remodel of my home office space , im at 48 hot toys figures and some mezco But that kosta case looks sweet bro! it even gives your space an industrial man space looks Amazing 🤩
Just build the cases and perfect it as you go. It was your first one so the wiring and bubbles will get way better as you go. Amazing job on videos and the case 👍🏻
Costa case for you. Moducase is way too much a wait. Detolf just isn’t enough space anymore. But you did a good job on your costa case and will get better each time you you do it. So I say do one at at time then slowly move your figures into each one
i'd say keep doing it if you need 8 and it took you a month to make one it'll be at most 8 months vs moducase you'll wait 1 year for once? not sure how long itll take for 8 moducases
Honestly, you've needed better cases for years now. Go all in on Costa cases. The juggernauts are on sale today. Your room will look 100x better. Also, your detolfs have appreciated since new ones are $99.99 now. You can come out even.
You did an amazing job with the kosta shelf and as you make your next one you will see that somehow the process will be easier and you will improve on the making of it. Moduspace is waaaaaaay over priced. Think of how many figures you can get for that price!
Upgrade and go all in … it’ll give you more long term growth space. Moducase would be worse because of the assembly. Plus save the money like you said and invest in your collection
You did an awesome job!! IMO I would order the Moduspace and just wait it out. They can customise the cabinets according to the measurements of your room and it will have a professional finish. If you go ahead and make them yourself it will be a production to complete and although it will be satisfying to build something yourself, you will have to look at every flaw that may occur everyday and wonder should I have just added some more money and got the Moduspace? I say just order them and forget about it and enjoy your detoflts (which look amazing btw) till they arrive! 🍻👍🏽
Do both @ curate and build costa cases. If you are confident about building more cases...do say two more but at the same time curate whats in the detofs. Then do two more then curate...etc etc. U'll get better with each build. It gets better.
You are such a great storyteller! I would probably go 50/50 with detolf and the Costa cases to have some variety? Maybe the cases have super important figures/lines and the detolfs are more singular figures or something. Great vid!
*Palpatine voice* DO IT Seriously, go for it. I'm in the same boat, being as handy as a retarded noodle, so if you can pull this off and get it on video; I'll try it myself.
Brother, we are in the same boat, a handyman I am not! Lol. The Costa case that build looks amazing and considering the size of your collection, you would benefit more from either the Costa or Moducase. However, I just like the look of the Detolf's more. To me your collection room looks like a museum and I love that, but I will say that your collection in its current state is way to cluttered. Just my opinion so take that with a grain of salt. But unfortunately to expand your collection, in its current state, you probably would have to sell figures to buy more figures.
I got rid of all my detolfs about 2 years ago and went with garage shelves. I had about 14 to 17, I can't remember. I did this conversion in 2020. This is the only way to go in my book. My collection now ua-cam.com/video/5yiIq-BiEWQ/v-deo.html
I would throw money at it because it's too much work for me. The amount you have to create sucks way more than just the one you endured. Maybe build one more to pass the time but get some moducases ordered.
Not taking anything away from costa i love his videos. But Why is it called costa case if someone did it a year and half before him. Just costa is more popular and got more views.

Love this idea too! And yeah, shocked at how much the magnetic tape is now LOL
If it buys you more space at a discount then definitely go for it! Space is priceless plus they look great. I'm planning on going that route eventually
Space is the one thing that's tough to buy!
I would need discipline to cycle ones out for sure!
You can do anything you decide to do! It is just a matter of discipline and persistence! Do it yourself those new expositors! In the end, will be better and you will be happier!
Amen to that!
Well done, KECO! You should be proud. A fitting way to display your exceptional collection. 👏🙌🤟
Much appreciated
Outside of not having a way to get big sheets of acrylic I had the same things that bugged me when I tackled this project. I could see all the imperfections and wondered how long it would hold up lol.
Yours looks great! Ultimately you have to do what works best for you but for me there’s just something about moduspace that I love and admire.
Great point on material integrity long term!
#3 HANDS DOWN ! Moduspace once you have it you will NEVER look back its truly worth it sir!
The WAIT though... I'm already too old 😂
In your case it sounds like Moduspace would be your best looking setup in LONG run which is something you should think about.
Excellent, well thought out response. Gives me lots to think about!
Awesome job Keco. Was inspired and motivated by Costa tutorials as well for statues! Costa the man🤘🏼👏🏼👊🏼 ! I think you should continue with the building brother! Amazing and keep up the good work!
Thanks for the encouragement!
Why does life have to be filled with tough choices???
@@KeCoCollects It really is hard! lol. I am up to 67 figures now and I have 7 detolfs. I am thinking of making a change, but I don't really want certain figures mixing in with other figures as the detolf is perfect for some form of separation...
Great job KeCo!! Costa cases all the way!! As you build more of them, the better you will get at it. You’ll eventually perfect it and then you can go back and fix the first one or two that your not happy with. I’m planning to build my own as well! Good luck my friend. 👍🏾
Love to hear that!!
Hoping it comes inside one day!
Uh ohhhhhhh! This man has done gone and become handy!
A dangerous past time... I know...
Its not you, its me.....I hope we can still be friends🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol! Appreciate the encouragement! We will see what future holds 👀
All in son. A whole new feeling of pride, when you do it yourself
Love to hear this! Thanks
Thanks! Someone else recommended I make modifications and call them "Keco-Cases"
@@KeCoCollects has a nice ring to it!
If they could improve those wait times significantly, I'd definitely consider
Costa cases all the way for sure, especially given that you have several figures (and now vehicles) that you want to display together. If you were the “one figure per cube” type person, I feel like Detolfs are more ideal for that aesthetic.
I love that clean detolf look
@@KeCoCollects Me too--I wish Moducase had individual cubes for 1/6 figures that didn't look rectangular (but perfectly square instead). :/
I’m glad you dropped the name of a place in Nashville to get acrylic. I’m about 42 minutes from there and have been wanting a moducase but can’t justify the cost or time. A kostacase if that is how you spell it sounds intriguing. Then I could buy some figures at the replay in my town.
Yup! They are great and easy to work with. Nice people
You are deep in Detolf units.
I still have no idea what I want to do LOL
Love this idea! So many possibilities
@@KeCoCollects either way, can’t wait to see what you do with your collection!
Smart! And thanks for the wire tip :)
Dude I just started collecting Star wars collectibles this year 2023 and my collection is miniscule and it will take years before I have half as much as you have dude you have an awesome collection.
We all start somewhere! One piece that means a lot to you is still a perfect collection.
The new cases man! They look stunning
Thanks! I think they look pretty good
GREAT FRIGGIN JOB!!!! Been putting this off for a while in favor of detolfs. I say diversify: build a few and place your prized items or characters you want to group together. Free up space in your detolfs an make'em classier.
Thanks for the kind words!
Nice one bud, love the energy in this clip! Definitely an option to look into for my collection
Thanks for watching! Exciting times ahead regardless
You’ll get better with time … plus I used gladiator shelf’s they cost more but the shelf’s are already black and I just needed the backing and acrylic panels
Well that's convenient!
Tough one. First, you costa case is awesome but your detolfs look amazing, they make space look bigger. Something to consider if you’re working with a small space. On the other hand, bigger equals more, so costa may be your way now that you are handy. Looking forward to see which way you go.
Whos now.. I'm not handy YET LOL. Thanks for the responses
Bro looks great, well done! Probs gonna consider this when I'm in need of space
Thanks! Worth considering for sure.
Hey Keco, I would start to curate the collection and eliminate figures you don’t need. Keep detolfs and build the costa cases for big things like the tumbler and as needed
Thanks for the input and suggestion! Def leaning towards a mixed display
Only a few months??? Times a changing?
I think you did a great job Keco and should make more. More depth and height alone will open up better options for posing. Risers in the case will allow for more figures and options for future figures.
The depth is DEFINITELY a plus. I have some ideas for it all if so 👀
I thought about building my own case.
Good point on the angles and view!
@@KeCoCollects lol sorry I think I kept editing and didn't finish my full thought before you read it...but yeah that's a huge concern for me. I ordered the Risers for the entire display so I could get it off the floor just a little extra.
I go to my neighbor and say “Do you have a mallet? …..because I’m GOING to need it.” Hahaha I woulda called the cops!
Ha! In hindsight, that's a strange request LOL
That 16 months must have been miserable! I'll see what I wanna do soon! 👀
the detolfs look great just have the new case for the largest items & rotate your displayed items ( i always have 15 figures packed away ) all the best.
Thanks for watching and the advice!
Hairs looking fresh handsome butters
You know who else has fresh hair? The rooted InART Joker... but that's just what I've heard. I'll prolly never see on in person.
Bob the builders origin story 😂
I giggled too hard at this LOL
Great job man! I will be building myself one very soon!!
Lemme know how it goes!
You could just use Costa cases for vehicles (garages) and/or for larger dioramas when story telling is the objective. Detolfs always look great when character is the main focus. Great job on the case.
A mixed bag isn't a bad idea!
Hey! Thanks for watching. And yeah, a mixed option may be best.
I personally think keep the detolfs & keep that custom case for the vehicles. 8:28 you can see the scratches on the plexiglass. I’m sure that’ll scratch up & get worse. It’ll be a pain to work with that much material.
I do have some acrylic cleaner which should help with that... but def something to consider!
Man that display case looks super clean! What if you split the displays down the middle and had half detolfs and half Costa cases for the bigger vehicles and dioramas.
I like your thinking!
You’re set up is great as it is.
Thanks so much!
OMG!
I would LOVE a Catwoman
I did they Detolf and Costa case route!

Just build the cases and perfect it as you go. It was your first one so the wiring and bubbles will get way better as you go. Amazing job on videos and the case 👍🏻
Thanks for the encouragement! More soon perhaps :)
Costa case for you. Moducase is way too much a wait. Detolf just isn’t enough space anymore. But you did a good job on your costa case and will get better each time you you do it. So I say do one at at time then slowly move your figures into each one
Not a bad plan! And yeah, each step I did, I learned a better way.
Detolfs are so classy. Moduspace / costa case are so congested. I say curate and stay the course
Fair point... they (detolfs) ARE pretty good at giving a precise look and layout
Costa Case, you had me at saving money
Simple solution!
i'd say keep doing it
if you need 8 and it took you a month to make one it'll be at most 8 months
vs moducase you'll wait 1 year for once? not sure how long itll take for 8 moducases
It took me a month because I had no idea what I was doing LOL. NOW I could do them in a weekend with all the supplies
Honestly, you've needed better cases for years now. Go all in on Costa cases. The juggernauts are on sale today. Your room will look 100x better. Also, your detolfs have appreciated since new ones are $99.99 now. You can come out even.
On sale??? Love to hear that.
Gonna try the garage shelves myself
Not a bad idea! So far so good for me
You did an amazing job with the kosta shelf and as you make your next one you will see that somehow the process will be easier and you will improve on the making of it. Moduspace is waaaaaaay over priced. Think of how many figures you can get for that price!

Perhaps! 👀👀
Go all in dude! Do it at a decently reasonably pace though
Considering it!
Cheers! I AM known to over analyze my faults and nitpick LOL.
Do both @ curate and build costa cases. If you are confident about building more cases...do say two more but at the same time curate whats in the detofs. Then do two more then curate...etc etc. U'll get better with each build. It gets better.
I could def tell I was getting better as I went!
@@KeCoCollects See? You can do it!! Yea had to do a Waterboy reference 😬

You are such a great storyteller! I would probably go 50/50 with detolf and the Costa cases to have some variety? Maybe the cases have super important figures/lines and the detolfs are more singular figures or something. Great vid!
Not a bad idea! I would certainly have extra detolfs laying around LOL.
Keep the detolfs it looks 🔥
I mean, everything DOES look good already
*Palpatine voice* DO IT

Hey I got a buddy here in Edmonton Canada who's store is called keco collectibles
Well how about that!
I upgraded my display by selling it all....
And because of that, Wanda is home! #Blessed
Appreciate the response! Glad to know there is another "un-handy" like me LOL
I vote for costa case all in and get rid off detolfs
I may be leaning that way!
Half and half
Simple enough!
I got rid of all my detolfs about 2 years ago and went with garage shelves. I had about 14 to 17, I can't remember. I did this conversion in 2020. This is the only way to go in my book. My collection now

I say keep building those cases. Honestly I think moducases are overpriced. And the wait time is unacceptable.
People are saying wait time has reduced, but I can do this in a weekend now if I tried now that I know where to get it all.
I would throw money at it because it's too much work for me. The amount you have to create sucks way more than just the one you endured. Maybe build one more to pass the time but get some moducases ordered.
Money I don't mind throwing... but that TIME. Yeeeesh. I'm impatient 😂
Not taking anything away from costa i love his videos. But Why is it called costa case if someone did it a year and half before him. Just costa is more popular and got more views.
