This song is also a direct response to Bruno Mars song “When I was your man” that supposedly Liam dedicated to her sometime during their relationship. Also the house the video was filmed in was the house Liam rented to cheat on her. She took her power back.
Apparently, the gold dress is the one Jennifer Lawrence wore, the suit is the one he wore on the red carpet when he told her to 'behave' and the work-outs are because that was his excuse. He dedicated When I Was Your Man on their wedding day. -- I think all of that (true or not) def brings attention to the song.. Miley's marriage to Liam was artifically scripted,it had all the pomp and pageantry of a typical celebrity marriage but underneath that Miley and Liam were two totally different people,Miley was always looking for some kind of real experience that could bond them closer together(like the house fire)something real....outside of the pomp of celebrity,but apparently that did not work,
Self love doesn't mean to be selfish but doesn't mean that you don't need nobady. You can love yourself but to be loved from someone is nothing wrong. Sometime I feel people that have to much self love are so annoying cause doesn't accept nobady by her side cause nobady is good enough for them. And that is really annoying. You can love yourself but don't overwhelm and think about your things you have done wrong to make it better. Not every think that you do is right and for that reason you cannot say I love what I have done.
