    Great video 👍. I have been to Canada, 3 times. Only once did I cross the border like that. When I was only 14 years old, we crossed the border from Minnesota. I flew in other times. Great stopping at McDonald's right away during the end of the video. Thank You for the video 😊👍.

    It’s very fascinating that America shares borders with other countries and how easy it must be to cross into each without being caught

    That friendly banter about the drag racing was actually the inspector doing her job to see if she could trip you up in your story....of course she couldn't because you were telling the truth, but imagine if you said you had watched drag racing, but you were actually doing something else, possibly nefarious .....those follow up questions you answered were to poke holes in your story.

      Not really. You can literally just say anything and even if you lie, nothing's gonna happen. You're an American citizen, they can't deny you entry.
      "What did you do in Canada"
      "nothing"
      Then I got 10 follow up questions, all of which I answered "just walked around". Tons of holes in my story (I didn't wanna tell them I was smoking weed and gambling for the weekend)
      They just waved me through because there's nothing they can do. If you're American, they have to let you in.

    I went through that border crossing once in the summer of 1997 with my parrot. Had paperwork from the vet. Had no trouble getting into Canada. The prick American guard coming back through had me pull over and inspected. The two people he sent up to inspect were much more reasonable, said it was obviously an American bird, and sent me on my way.

      @@MarkfromNewYork I think you mean bilingual signs, because these are the only two km/h signs I see on this road. and that's about where you start to see them. I go up to tractor pulls in St. Hyacinthe via this route a lot and I live in Utica. You ever been there for those, since you told customs about drag racing in Naperville? You see metric signs in New Hampshire & Maine more, though. & Some bilingual ones, as well.

    My girl is amarican and I’m Canadian
    I can’t go to amarica so she would come visit me . I got her pregnant before covid , she left before the borders closed to have my kid with her mother in the us because her mom is a nurse and she felt comfortable with her fam . Well I respected that and she left in 2019 I haven’t seen her since and have yet to meet my 2 year old daughter … she’s only 30 mins away from me across the Niagara river . Plz stop this covid bs so I can see my fam again !!

      Yeah its not too bad, i come all the way from Long Island, it strange to drive all that way and still be in New York State. Completely different world than the New York i live in good in some ways not so good in others. Gas is much more money up there than down state, food is more money too and it does not snow here till the end of December. Like now its Nov 1st and its going to be 70f in in the next few days and many of the trees are still green.

    • @lancelot1953
      @lancelot1953 5 років тому +6

      Besides Poutine (which is mostly in Eastern Canada), Canadians McDonalds offer a very similar menu than its American counterpart. Besides, Canada has its own higher class fast food restaurants that are significantly tastier (and held to higher standards) than their American counterparts. I have lived in both countries - each country has its own merit. I suggest you leave McDonald and try St Hubert BBQ (on most highways) and Nickels' (in outlying towns), the food and service is much better, people will talk to you, Ciao, L (USN Veteran)
