Thanks for all your videos Steve. I went to an Auction about a month ago and bid on a shipping container lot. You don't get to go through these things prior to bidding so never any telling what you get... This one was the best ever, it had three Sea Doos buried in the back, 2-99 GTX RFI's and a 96 XP. I have been reworking cleaning replacing seat covers and getting them operational ever since and have watched ALL of your videos and have , sucessfully-ish, so far appliied all your fixes. I have the gtx's running and am on the XP you are a wealth of knowledge and I really appreciate your videos. Thanks and keep them coming
Steve you are awesome! this video was a masterpiece! im in the process of rebuilding my jet pump on my 1996 Seadoo challenger thanks to your video everything is going really well im looking forward to more of your videos
Thanks, we're trying to bring a 1999 Sea Doo GTX RFI back to life, (saltwater), it's a mess with barnacles, we are about to check out this wear ring. Thanks again Marty Bird! 😁(kidden!)
Decent Hillbilly engineering to get the thing apart, but I see two areas that could really cause someone grief. 1st- if you need a breaker bar to undo a bolt, DON’T use an open end wrench! That is a surefire way to strip the bolt head, now you really have a PITA. Use a socket, preferably a 6 point, the bolt will snap before you ever strip the head. 2nd- the little plug where you add gear oil to the cone. Make sure you coat the threads with a thread sealant, else you will end up with water in the oil. Mention to only screw the plug til it’s flush, it will continue to screw, without resistance, until it goes right into the cone. Good idea to freeze the wear ring. We used to freeze the sleeve, & put the cylinder in the oven at 350F when rebuilding Rotax engines for Can Am motorcycles. You have to be organized as you only have a few seconds to drop things into the proper place. I would place the wood block across the wear ring right from the start when seating the wear ring. If you start with just a hammer it is very easy to get it a little off square. The it’s a bitch, or you wreck the new part.
ive learned so many things from this video on how to get sh*t done no matter what tools you have! 🤣🤣🤣 alls you need if a few straps and you can do anything
Love the videos dude just got a old I sea Doo and ok learning all about it. Thanks m an keep up the out if the box ideas man that's how we can fix anything in the world.
RPM is through the roof and ski can’t get out of its own way...if I gradually add throttle it will eventually get on plane. Would a bad wear ring cause such an issue? From what I’m reading everyone says my issue is cavitation. I’ll be using your video this weekend if so!
Sound like you nailed it. Some sea grass or fishing line wrapped up in the impeller will case those problems too but it’s easy to inspect on a trailer. Good luck!
Just wondering how tight the impeller was to the wear-ring. I bought a wear-ring on eBay and I'm seeing a 0.039 gap between the impeller and wear-ring. The wall thickness for the wear-ring was 0.275 the wall thickness for the old ring was 0.275 as well. I understand the gap is supposed to be between 0 -.15 thousands with new install, which means the wall thickness should be somewhere between .024 to .039 thicker or my impeller is worn. not sure which.
Hey just bought a whear ring, but the ends are different from each other one is flat and the other has a grove, witch side should be down against the bottom of the pump? I really need help
I replaced the wear ring and impeller on a 2012 Seadoo Challenger 180 SP, only to discover I still have a cavitation problem. My boat is over revving and I have lost a lot of top end speed. I now understand that the third culprit in cavitation is air infiltration and that is caused by a bad carbon seal and boot. I must now take the pump back off and change those. Do you have any video's on that procedure or have you seen any?
I have a 94 GTS. Last year ran great and this year it starts great and revs up out of water but has no power in water while under load, any idea of problem?
Hi not sure if this helps but i know on my 09 wake after replacing my wear ring and impeller both were good yet turned out to be my carbon ring was worn causing the pump to suck in air from hull creating massive cavitation replaced carbon ring and now pulls like a beast again
Hello, I watched a few of your sea doo restoration videos. At some point it looks like you replaced the rub rail. From purple to black. Do you have any tips on where to get new rub rail for old sea doos?
I get mine from eBay or a local guy who parts out skis. West marine sells various profiles by the foot but it’s pretty expensive. You could paint it black and be a slave to touch-up.
one of the two skis i bought, the bearing exploded on the prop shaft, cant find another part, any idea? I ruined the prop shaft when it exploded, it's a 1997 tigershark 1000 daytona
great video, i enjoyed your ingenuity. so @10:37 when you added the oil you didn't leave it under 10 to 15 psi or whatever it is for 10 minutes (saw this on someone else's video). is that kind of a newb step? thanks
That absolutely is the correct procedure but I guess I’m reckless. Are you surprised? Please, everybody pressure check your jet pump and use a fresh o-ring. It’s the safe thing to do (not even joking). Thanks!
Put the new wear ring in the freezer while removing old one and cleaning up. Wear ring will slide in without problems. New wear ring shrinks in freezer.
Great Video, Quick question and excuse my ignorance. When in Neutral will the engine turn over if this is stuck? My friend is looking to buy a fixer up and the one he is looking at states the engine won't turn over becuase jet pump bearings are seized? Is This correct.
Got the same ski as you and have had problems when accelerating, the engine revs high but I don’t immediately go. It slowly picks up speed so I’m guessing wear ring? If you could let me know what that sounds like that would be great!
Yep. I would start by looking at the impeller section. Grass wrapped around the impeller can cause cavitation and loss of power. So can a bent impeller or badly worn wear ring. If this condition came on suddenly you might just have something stuck in the impeller. If you can get it out of the water check the intake grate as well. Where I live I'm routinely sucking up some seagrass.
Pulled the pump off today and wear wrong looked the same and if not worse than yours, but impeller looks fine. Ordered a new wear ring and going to put that in once it arrives. Quick question. Is there a seal between the pump and where it bolts onto the ski? In the video it’s hard to tell when ur bolting it all back up if there is a deal that needs to be replaced there. Asking because when I removed the pump, there was a sort of ring of what looked to be a old seal that I could just pick off by hand. Anyways thanks for the help.
Sorry to bother you but I’ve got One last question. My impeller shaft is stuck in the impeller just as yours was. What’s the best way to get that out with out bending the shaft. It’s just pressed fitted in right? No bolts need to be undone? Thanks again for all the help I’m trying to avoid going to the mechanic and this stuff interests me.
No worries. Yes, it's a straight spline. No bolts or clip rings. I recommend some PB Blaster or other thin penetrating oil to free it up, maybe even multiple applications over a couple of days. Some people will tell you to use a torch to loosen things up. Maybe that would work but I just soak it with oil and pound on it. In the video you see that I rigged up something to pound in the desired direction of travel but you should be able to loosen things up by hammering down on the shaft (toward the pump) as well. There's a small rubber bumper on the end of the shaft that keeps it from rattling (when it's not rusted solid). This should allow it to move forward when you whack it. Obviously you will want to protect the cone or just remove it so it doesn't get damaged by this barbaric process. BTW, if you do remove the cone, be prepared to catch the cone oil so it doesn't get all over the place. That stuff smells nasty, even when it's brand new. Let us know how it goes.
My jetski seems to not have enough water pressure for engine coolant, idk what's going on and this is my first time ever working on one of these. Can you give me advice on this issue I'm having? Thanks much.
If you are talking about the surface between the hull and the jet pump, yes. You can buy a seal with adhesive on one side that sticks to the hull. The wear ring itself just presses into the pump and there’s a small lip one one end that presumably improves the fit for best water flow to avoid cavitation.
That's actually a great idea. I have no idea how durable a 3d printed wear ring would be but it wouldn't cost much to make and they aren't difficult to install. I don't have an accurate way to measure the dimensions...
you guys are great, thats how i would've done it. liking yer vids steve keep up the good work. how about giving me a tip on the manual trim in the rear, its a corkscrew kinda of affair kind just goes in and out, threading in and out, my seadoo is a 95' seadoo HX.. THNKS guys.
1996 Yamaha 1100 triple Wave Raider runs excellent on the trailer but won't start in the water or if I start it on the trailer and back it into the lake it stalls out the second it hits the water, any ideas
No. You supposed to change it every season, but it should not need topping up. It only takes a few ounces, & is sealed by an O ring at the base of the cone, & the little plug where he filled it. The plug should have a thread sealer applied to prevent water ingress.
I had to replace my wear ring today. same ski same issues you had I had lol. I use my truck to pull the jet out lmao thanks for the videos!! I know you made those decals for yours love the way it looks how much would you charge to get some decals similar to yours or at least the registration and the seadoo ?
Oops. I edited that part out. The trick is to put the wear ring in the freezer overnight so it shrinks up a bit. Makes it easier to insert, particularly if you don't have a bunch of oxidation to remove on the inside aluminum surface. Thanks for watching.
Steve Vigus Question?2004 GTI have 2, one I just got the impeller to work, water intake was full of some kind of torn towel , but when I run it on a water hose connection it seems to Smoke a lot , does not smell like burning oil, but quite a bit of smoke. That normal?
Word of caution - after watching barely 30 seconds, I noticed a critical error: You should remove the steering cable from the directional nozzle BEFORE removing the nozzle. It doesn't take much force to bend the control rod and then it will never work right again. The forces from steering will bend it more and more as you ride. I know this from experience with my Doo when a rock got sucked up and caught between the impeller and the nozzle. Ended up buying a new cable as a result of the mistake.
you seem to know a lot about skis. what models do you have? i'm considering a wave raider 1100 for $500 with the trailer and it has a new motor with 10 hours. recommend against these anyone? loving the videos man!
twomelsdorf thanks for the kind comments. The wave raider hull shape doesn't turn as crisply as the SeaDoo but it's still a fun machine. My buddy has one that has been super reliable for about three years. Pretty much gas and go. If you like the body style I say go for it. If nothing else it's much easier to get your hands down into the hull to work on things. Let me know how it goes.
Oh, and right now I have a 96 SeaDoo XP, 95 SPX and a secret weapon that I built last week. Slower than the others but one-of-a-kind custom. I'll release the video on Tuesday.
Steve Vigus thanks for replying! i think i'm going to buy it and give it a try. apparently the wave raider 1100 goes like 60mph which would be very cool. just need to find a place i can keep it... either way, i think it's a safe buy because the trailer could be sold for $200 rather easily and the ski should be worth at least 500 based on my research. especially if i clean it up. i'll let you know how it goes for sure. just wondering, where are you located out of? i'm in new jersey.
and i'm stoked to see the new project. i like the seadoo skis you have, but everyone around me wants like 1000 for a beat up one that doesn't run. how fast do yours go?
The white one does around 45 MPH, the yellow one about 5-7 MPH faster. For me it's about the handling, particularly since these little machines guzzle gas at wide open throttle. You can go plenty fast on an old two-smoke. Maybe not as fast as a modern, 1000+ pound ski but for the price you can't beat the fun!
Sorry I don't have a recommendation for you. Last time I dealt with bad rings I put in a complete turn-key rebuilt. Anybody out there have an answer for Janet?
Measure clearance between the outside edge of the impeller and the wear ring. Spec is .04MM or .016 inches. When you are riding you will give it gas and the engine will rev up but the ski won't take off quickly. If it's really bad you will be hammering the gas and the ski barely moves in the water. Other things can cause this problem like a damaged impeller or grass in the intake grate. If you climb up inder the ski and find that the impeller's not dinged or bent and there's nothing in the intake and nothing wrapped around the ipeller (like fishing line), then check the blade to ring clearance with a feeler gage. As you saw in the "solved: jet ski wont start" video, it's possible to have a catastrophic failure of the wear ring where chunks fly out through the nozzle.
The SPX is so much fun! You can certainly paint the bumper and rub rails with automotive bumper paint but it's going to get destroyed every time you dock it. I would probably just learn to love the original color. That teal hull might look good with arctic camo on top. Just tell everybody that the color is ice blue.
Xylol. It's inteded to thin/clean up chlorinated rubber pool paint. I probably tried a dozen chemicals before figuring out out that this stuff works. It's magic!
I pay for a monthly subscription to epidemic sound that allows me to use their music in my UA-cam videos only. That particular song is Insane by Loving Caliber.
Hey Steve sorry to bring up a new comment on an old video. I love your vids you and your neighbor are hilarious. Question: Did you replace all the bearings and all the seals as well with the wear ring and a new shaft also or just the ring? Mine is doing the same thing spitting plastic and just curious if all that HAS to be done. What actually caused the bad wear ring on yours? Thanks
Pretty sure that the aluminum sleeve corroded, swelling and pushing the already brittle wear ing into the impeller. When I bought this ski it had been sitting on a boat lift for a couple of years. I did buy a bearing kit but didn't end up installing it because it seemed to turn fine. Yes on the new shaft seal. Let me know how it goes.
LOL! Between the rust and the bend I thought that shaft was going to be toast anyway. You can always cut half off and make an impeller removal tool. Thanks for watching.
Next time try putting the rotorhousing in the refrigorator for a hour or 3 then the ring pops out really easy Then heat up the housing and put the new frozen ring in the housing Greetings from the netherlands No need to force it guys 😂👍🏻
Thanks for the pointers. I did use the freezer trick for installation but the ring was in backward and the forward lip interfered with the rear surface. After whacking it a few times I fugured it out and turned it around. Don't remember trying the freezer trick for removal or not. The housing was very corroded behind the ring but chilling it down to reduce the diameter might have helped. I'll try it next time and suggest that viewers give it a shot. We're learning together here.
That track is "Insane" by Loving Caliber. I gave them credit at the end of the video but, looking at it again, I see that it's not very prominent. Thanks for asking since it gives me a chance to show them some more love. Not sure if you will find most of the music that I use in Shazam - I use it under a subscriber license vice the Creative Commons music that a lot of You Tubers use. Not sure if this approach gets more dollars into the hands of the music creators but I certainly hope that that's the case. I'll try to use this artist again soon. Thanks for watching.
awesome i found the creative commons site cc search i believe, but having a hard time finding the song, do u have a link or a way to help me find this track. i really like it.
Try this link: player.epidemicsound.com/#/search/?search_query=insane There's also a version with vocals. I should have used the voice version...very nice.
Thanks, yes it is, i did stumble on the video voice version, but now thanks to the link you sent me, i got the instrumental, just got to figure out how to add it to the video, doesn't seem to be an add from file option when uploading a video
You can set up an alert on Craigslist and get automatically notified when something gets listed. I also use OfferUp, LetGo and I occasionally check PWCTrader and eBay. Good luck!
Steve Vigus true, is that a 657x engine? Still have it? I saw your video and hooked my truck to the ski trailer... then parked my loader tractor and used a come-along to slowly pull it off. Previous owner used RTV to glue it to the hull. Thanks
+Matthew Harbert actually I do. It's the camo ski on my dock in the other vids. It does have the smaller engine. Half the power and half the fuel of the XP. Perfect for my riding style. And les fancy crap to break. But then I do love the XP. I'm happy that you got your pump off. It's scary to commit to that move. Much easier when you watch somebody else do it first. Thanks for watching!
+Matthew Harbert no wait. That's not the ski I still have but you get the idea. I went through the same process with the one I still ride only that's the one that I tied to the tree, pulled with my truck, and nearly smacked the tailgate when the pump flew off.
If the button still activates the motor then the relay is good. You can replace the motor with an electric window motor from a 1986 Nissan. Check out a couple of Nissan vehicles around that year and you will recognize the motor. The connector has to be cut off and direct wired but the motor is an exact match. You used to be able to get a used one for around $20 on ebay. I haven't bought one in probably 10 years so all bets are off. If you do go for the repair, be sure to replace the rubber boot on the outside of the hull. They get crunchy when they get old and you will likely destroy an old one during the replacement anyway. If it tears, the servo housing fills with water and both your motor and relay are toast. Good luck!
im confused steve, mine is only a manual twist of the knob adjusting the trim up and down, maybe your talking about another seadoo, mine is a 95' seadoo 800 HX
+bon jovi sorry about that. My '96 XP has electric trim. Never even sat on an HX - just assumed it had the same setup. It's a great looking ski though!
great video man. at the end are you putting a bead of silicone on the housing surface? Also, did you use any thread sealant on the jet pump cone screw?
Thanks. Yes, I use a general purpose silicone sealant around where the vacuum bilge lines go through the transome. Each line has an o-ring but I generally add some sealant in the general area as well. I have pulled jet pumps that had only the o-rings and the large gasket; seems to work fine that way but I just feel better knowing that there's some sealant in that area in case I screw up the alignment and knock an o-ring out of position during assembly. I apply blue Loctite to the screws that hold the jet pump cone cone on. I don't use anything on the o-ring that seals the cone. Good luck on your project!
The jet pump is held in place with 4 bolts and then a rubber gasket if you had taken off the steering line and reverse line it woukd of came right off!
Actually those lines are for water discharge. Shows what happen when you are busy joking around and don’t pay attention to the task at hand. At least we didn’t damage any parts.
I was gonna say disconnect that hose. I did the same thing before, almost sunk that ski because mine broke off clean rather than pulling through... save yourself some time and get on the water.. consider a new Yamaha EX base @ $6599
Actually one of the lines did break off at the fitting. Had to unscrew it and replace the plastic part. Would love to have a spankin' new ski like you suggest but it's not in the cards right now. Besides, what would I do with my free time, go ride?
Thomas Barker thanks Bro. Yes, the hoses were a definite oversight. Luckily I had a spare water tube to replace the one I broke off. Must be living right!
Good luck with that. Dont' be afraid to pull that bad boy off with a vehicle if you have to. Just consider where the pump is going to fly when it comes loose. The first time I did it, I tied the rope to my truck and roped the ski to a tree. The pump almost hit my tailgate. If you have it on a trailer you can hook the trailer up to a vehicle and tie the pump off to a tree. A much better setup. It's good, clean, fun for the neighbors to get together and watch. Add in the chance of damaging something and it's even more exciting!
I don’t think I’d ever buy a used saltwater jet ski. I took off my jet pump to replace the carbon ring in about 5 min and put it back together while just him strapping the thing to the tree took that long.
Still working in it. Posted some footage on the jet dock video but I'm planning to film some action footage as soon as my test pilot gets over a broken leg. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the video. My rebuild parts just came in for my two 1990 Doos. I will abe tackling this tonight and tomorrow.
Good luck! I wish I could be there to drink a cold one and watch!!
Awesome video! Love the way you take time to explain steps in detail!
It was a fun project. Thanks for watching!
Y’all remind me of my buddies working on stuff~ lots of laughs

Ebay saves my bacon every time...
So I have a quick question the sprayer things on the shaft and all that the things you put rtv silicone on those lines what do they hook up to!
Those lines are the bilge system. Vacuum from the jet pump draws water from the rear section of the engine compartment.

There isn't a neutral option. The engine is always connected to the jet, unless you take it apart.
Very helpful videos!! Keep them coming!

Yes there's a neoprene seal that goes there. Good luck with the rebuild. Hope yours isn't as crusty as mine was!

If it's anything like a regular boat, there's a water pump impeller that needs changing every few years
Could you use a pressure washer to clean that salt out?? Would that work??
If you had the time would using a parts cleaner be better for oxidation?
Is there a wearing seal on these older machines? I gonna be doing a 93 SPX.
If you are talking about the surface between the hull and the jet pump, yes. You can buy a seal with adhesive on one side that sticks to the hull. The wear ring itself just presses into the pump and there’s a small lip one one end that presumably improves the fit for best water flow to avoid cavitation.
@@StevenVigus I meant a seal outside of the wearing. Around the same size as the wearring
In between the jet pump and the hull to seal from water coming thru
i got the same jet skit. had to fix the shaft seal setup. used a 3d printer.. kinda wondering if i can 3d print a wear ring now... hmm
THNKS guys.
+bon jovi ok. Is yours broken? Mine works but we could do a repair video if yours is bad...
1996 Yamaha 1100 triple Wave Raider runs excellent on the trailer but won't start in the water or if I start it on the trailer and back it into the lake it stalls out the second it hits the water, any ideas
Low compression
Someone can probably help me out on this one. He added that gear oil. Arnt you suppose to add that every so often. Kinda like a rear axle on a truck
No. You supposed to change it every season, but it should not need topping up. It only takes a few ounces, & is sealed by an O ring at the base of the cone, & the little plug where he filled it. The plug should have a thread sealer applied to prevent water ingress.
Exceptional Video! 👍🏻
I had to replace my wear ring today. same ski same issues you had I had lol. I use my truck to pull the jet out lmao thanks for the videos!! I know you made those decals for yours love the way it looks how much would you charge to get some decals similar to yours or at least the registration and the seadoo ?
Jose, Drop me an email. I might be able to hook you up. Just go to my About page and click on the "business inquiries" link.
Steve Vigus cool ive send it already thanks!!!
What was in the freezer, the jet pump or the wear ring? Your videos are very helpful for a diy person.
Oops. I edited that part out. The trick is to put the wear ring in the freezer overnight so it shrinks up a bit. Makes it easier to insert, particularly if you don't have a bunch of oxidation to remove on the inside aluminum surface. Thanks for watching.
Omg awesomeness. To think of how much it took to rip that pump out
Pretty scary, huh? The first time I did that I thought something was going to break.😂
Brasil 2019!
Thank you!!
So dose the shaft just slide out of the motor
It slides into a coupling. Same concept.
Great pointer! I must have missed it🤪
Thank you,thank you!
you seem to know a lot about skis. what models do you have? i'm considering a wave raider 1100 for $500 with the trailer and it has a new motor with 10 hours. recommend against these anyone? loving the videos man!
twomelsdorf thanks for the kind comments.
I replaced the wear ring on my 95 sp and she's too tight to turn over, you ever deal with something like that? Howd you fix it?
Did you check shaft alignment? Try loosening the motor mounts and see if that’s the problem .
@@StevenVigus it's almost too tight to spin the pump housing with the shaft clamped in the vice
Is it running in one spot or all the way around?
@@StevenVigus it's all the way around
I was thinking I'll just put some atf or something on the wear ring and prop then spin it by hand until it self clearances
What is the time frame to change the wear ring as far as labor hours go?
If it's not corroded like mine, you should be able to knock it out in a couple of hours, no problem.
I appreciate the quick reply. Sea doo brand rings are a ridiculous price, what after market do you recommend. Thank so much.
Sorry I don't have a recommendation for you. Last time I dealt with bad rings I put in a complete turn-key rebuilt. Anybody out there have an answer for Janet?
Did you use after market in this video?
Yes. I had one sitting in my garage for like five years and I don't recall the brand.
another great vid
Sole City thanks. How's your new channel coming along?
Also how can u tell if wear ring is bad or not? Could you tell while riding?? Just trying to figure out my issue. Thanks
As you saw in the "solved: jet ski wont start" video, it's possible to have a catastrophic failure of the wear ring where chunks fly out through the nozzle.
great video, I have a 94 SPX and I'm going to do the same thing for the graphics, except my hull and bumpers are teal, can they be painted?
The SPX is so much fun! You can certainly paint the bumper and rub rails with automotive bumper paint but it's going to get destroyed every time you dock it. I would probably just learn to love the original color. That teal hull might look good with arctic camo on top. Just tell everybody that the color is ice blue.
Steve Vigus thanks bro
One more question, what type of solvent did you use to clean the handlebar cover?
Xylol. It's inteded to thin/clean up chlorinated rubber pool paint. I probably tried a dozen chemicals before figuring out out that this stuff works. It's magic!
What music are you using? and is it copyright free?
I pay for a monthly subscription to epidemic sound that allows me to use their music in my UA-cam videos only. That particular song is Insane by Loving Caliber.
@@StevenVigus I was mainly talking about the first song in this video.
Hey where did you buy that wear ring ?
Thx. Nice video
well, you got the job done but im not really liking the tactics. pipe wrench on the shaft splines?
LOL! Between the rust and the bend I thought that shaft was going to be toast anyway. You can always cut half off and make an impeller removal tool. Thanks for watching.
Next time try putting the rotorhousing in the refrigorator for a hour or 3 then the ring pops out really easy
Then heat up the housing and put the new frozen ring in the housing
Greetings from the netherlands
No need to force it guys 😂👍🏻
Thanks for the pointers. I did use the freezer trick for installation but the ring was in backward and the forward lip interfered with the rear surface. After whacking it a few times I fugured it out and turned it around. Don't remember trying the freezer trick for removal or not. The housing was very corroded behind the ring but chilling it down to reduce the diameter might have helped. I'll try it next time and suggest that viewers give it a shot. We're learning together here.
What song are you using in this one? Thanks in advance! :)
Juuuussstttt kiddingggg :) it's at the end hahah! Awesome videos, sir!
Thank you Kent!
great video. question whats the track u play that starts at 10:23, sounds good not even my shazam can tell what it was.. lol
Thanks for watching.
awesome i found the creative commons site cc search i believe, but having a hard time finding the song, do u have a link or a way to help me find this track. i really like it.
i also changed my standard license to creative commons, still wont find. ??
Try this link: player.epidemicsound.com/#/search/?search_query=insane
There's also a version with vocals. I should have used the voice version...very nice.
Thanks, yes it is, i did stumble on the video voice version, but now thanks to the link you sent me, i got the instrumental, just got to figure out how to add it to the video, doesn't seem to be an add from file option when uploading a video
I’m looking for a cheap jet ski do you know of any where to look at online.
You can set up an alert on Craigslist and get automatically notified when something gets listed. I also use OfferUp, LetGo and I occasionally check PWCTrader and eBay. Good luck!
They should put the jet / tree removal instructions in the manual 😂
1:54 - Great idea guys.. execution could have been better. but it worked I guess
+Matthew Harbert could have gone better alright. I figure as long as nobody gets hurt and we get a laugh it's a success.
7:19 ... it is not an oxidation ... it is salt
I put some around the rim of my margarita glass. Sadly it tasted like aluminum. 😝
@@StevenVigus really ? or joke? I removed a lot of salt from my yamaha parts. No any oxidation or loss of material in yamaha 1993 WR 650. Only salt.
not broke, but very worn steve. my manual trim.
I have a 96 seadoo spx, I have no power but I can jump it with a screw driver and make it turn over but that's it
Starter solenoid?
Thank you makes sense now lol
You better have the alignment tool on your seadoo or engine rubber support will always fail
Good advice. I have that tool but I’m lazy about using it.
@@StevenVigus Lols
if by any chance you can get me the dimensions of that ware ring. OD ID and height i would be very greatful :)
great video man. at the end are you putting a bead of silicone on the housing surface?
Access to a sand blaster is key
Like watching your not Afraid 🤙
Tom, that's half of the solution. I say just jump into the project and figure it out along the way. Thanks for watching.
What year are those skis?
96 and 94. Classic two smokes!
Total cost? Under 20 bucks if you already happen to own a band saw 2 good friends and some of yours dad's old tools.
In NL. Canada, Drunk on Lambs, Oh Fuck No......
And also if you can get a poxy paint it will never peel or pop and it will make your machine not fall apart so bad
3:15 reminds me of Jeremy Clarksons laugh
That's hilarious! Ed is the American Jeremy!
Steve Vigus you also could have used WD-40 ;)
The first 3 minutes.. Do you guys know what your doing ? Lol
Pretty much...nope. Thanks for watching.
Wth... U guys are so wreckless like me and im 44..😁
LOL! Wreckless like you...
Not bad.
I think you only needed to undo the rear for the ring but you needed the shaft too so you did good!! Except for hoses!!
Thomas Barker thanks Bro. Yes, the hoses were a definite oversight. Luckily I had a spare water tube to replace the one I broke off. Must be living right!
Yes that would make it easier. I'm going to be trying this soon, but just to replace the wear ring.
SEA POOOOOO
I don’t think I’d ever buy a used saltwater jet ski. I took off my jet pump to replace the carbon ring in about 5 min and put it back together while just him strapping the thing to the tree took that long.
try bead blasting.
👍👍👍
Sea trial?????
Still working in it. Posted some footage on the jet dock video but I'm planning to film some action footage as soon as my test pilot gets over a broken leg. Stay tuned.
I wanted to watch this video but after 6 minutes of that music I had to turn it off. This would be so much better without the horrid music!
Please ..... no 'music'.
Put the ware ring in the freezer go eat lunch it will fall in when you get back.
