My first run through the Cannatrol on default settings is on day 2 and the dewpoint has lowered some but is currently at 60 degrees (77% RH). I'm a little worried about mold development. I wish the system was slightly more aggressive to come "online" to the target DP. There are no instructions or recommendations for this circumstance other than perhaps removing some flower if it's overloaded with wet fresh flower. What I'd like to know is if this means I will have to extend the dry cycle further than the default 4 days since the DP will not reach 54 degrees for probably another 24-36 hours by my estimation. Instructions say the DP should come down to 54 degrees within 30 minutes to one day. What should you do if that is taking much longer? How many days does the flower need to maintain 54 degrees DP to be properly dried? By the instructions recommendations, it seems that that should be a minimum of 3 days, which would mean that I will have to extend the dry cycle by at least an additional 3-4 days if that is how long it takes the DP to drop to 54 degrees. I have not added the sponge yet because it does not need more moisture, but this was not explained in the instructions that you may need to delay using the sponge until target DP is reached. This was just mentioned by other users testimonials. I have emptied the water collection 5-6 times. It's probably removed at least 16 ounces of water so far.
You could offer "curing as a service" as a financing method for the machine. In Germany, it is totally VERBOTEN to give cannabis to others even though they just 'legalized' it. I couldn't do it, but if you are in a state where you are allowed to store flower for friends/customers/etc, that would be an option.

How do commercial growers both retain terpenes in drying and curing but the cannabis still has "loud" aromas when a bag or jar is opened? This seems like a quality that most people appreciate and associate with high quality, regardless if the "loud" aromas expelling from an open bag or jar means off-gassing and evaporation of terpenes. Some people may be willing to sacrifice some of the terpene loss if it means they can smell the terpenes when they are inspecting a bag or jar. Many buyers at a dispensary choose the strain they want by aroma which often translates to flavors and strength. I know certain strains are "louder" than others. I am currently drying a strain that normally an open bag will pervade a whole room with "skunk" smell. If it has no smell, then most people may think it's a weak strain or poor grow and post-harvest care. Very few people have said that a secondary extended cure time in jars, grove bags, or even in the Cannatrol will improve the "bag smell". Some data and science on that would be great to have.
Why is the topic of chlorophyll breakdown not discussed in any Cannatrol or Vaportrol content? Chlorophyll breakdown has a direct relationship with drying time and moisture content. Fast drying time limits the ability for chlorophyll to breakdown because chlorophyll requires time and moisture to degrade. I appreciate that these systems can turn fresh flower into dried and "smokable" product in 8 days, but how does it taste and smell compared to longer slower drying times where more chlorophyll is broken down? Chlorophyll is responsible for "hay" smell and harshness when smoking, and many owners of the Cannatrol will attest to the hay smell and no apparent terpine smell after they dry their product in the cannatrol.
