My Bama mortgage payment for a four bedroom home is $365 a month. Yes, there are some racists here, but the last election taught me apparently Alabama isn't the only state that has some racists living there. Most negative thing about the state is the weather. There are two seasons in Alabama: hot and not hot. When it gets really hot, you go on vacation or adapt. Jose, you are from a state even hotter than us. My son was stationed in the panhandle and noted his military boots were melting. And in Alabama you can easily get out of the sun. We have more rainfall than 47 other states, a vast river system, and more caves than all states but one. I live in the forest. You know, your problems look so small under the canopy of giant oaks. Life is good, simple but good. Roll Tide/War Eagle (As always, I'm and independent.)

Lol I watch Nick Johnson all the time and have told him on numerous occasions that Alabama is a great place to live. I lived in Maryland for 30 years and Tennessee for about 20 and now live in Alabama. My home and neighborhood is beautiful and much nicer than where I lived before. I do work in retail but it's not my only source of income and yes I have a mortgage but it's very reasonable. I have 2 and a half granddaughters here (the half is still baking) and I'm thankful to be here. This is the 2nd of your videos I've watched. So far so good on content.
I loved this video. It’s the most sensemaking video of the bunch. You’re so right that the stats a bunch of other review channels share are so meaningless & artificial. Jose’s focusing on what really matters. I’m an Auburn engineering grad-War Eagle! Loved Auburn. Also spent time in Alexander City, especially fishing in Lake Martin and having fish fries and hush puppies. I lived in Huntsville for about a year and another year in Madison. Only thing I hate about AL is the humidity and the bugs/roaches. I’m more of a winter person. Love cold. Love snow. However, living tight now in New England and living to pay high rent, high mortgage is insane, so I’m giving serious thought about moving to Huntsville again. But the humidity does scare me, oh and the tornadoes too. Other than that, I love AL!
I was born in North Carolina, moved to South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, and then in 1985 moved to Alabama. I've been to all the lower 48 states. I would live NOWHERE ELSE but Alabama. The myths of Alabama are all exaggerated. Much like racism. There's more racist in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan than Alabama ever thought about. The only problem I've seen here in 36 years that I've lived here is the people from liberal states moving in due to the rise in job opportunities. They bring their ideals and it just screws up the over all around great feel of the place. But that's what they call "progress" 🤔 I'm starting to think progress has been the downfall of the rest of the country. But saying that Alabama is a great place to live. It's your outlook on where you're at that makes it what it becomes.

Nice 'state review' type of video. I guess I'm a yankee, but people are so uptight up here. I noticed southern hospitality in Texas, I can't wait to see how it is in Alabama.
You’re right about people assuming. Many people assume that everyone in Minnesota sounds like they did in the movie Fargo. No we don’t all say “Uffda” and “ya betcha”.
Looking at Alabama bro, I'm in Vegas but originally from San Diego, Ca. I want to leave Vegas asap, rent is going up almost 20% and houses are getting out bid by people coming into the state.
It's easy to drive through the state and make judgments based on appearance. Yet Huntsville is top rated, which means it will become less affordable eventually. I'll look for a place the locals like you recommend.
We’re looking to move there. I hate NY I can’t stand it unfortunately we got stuck here and it is a shame so many people dislike me just because I’m from NY.. I’m a country girl that got trapped absurd cost of living insane politics
I have watched Nick Johnson's videos and you are spot on. He trashes Alabama and the south. I can't even watch his videos and take him in any form of seriousness. Another great video from y'all!
my wife and i are moving to Alabama soon as we get everything in order .for us its way to crowded here people on your heels constantly driving .grocery store .even gestation people trying to cut infront of you to get gas.and the 105 degree temperature .just those 2 things is eknuf to move.way less people in the town we are moving to in fl its 1million for orange county vs 20.000 in the city in Alabama .unless youve lived in central to south fl the humidity mixed with the sun is brutal so on average its 8-12 degrees cooler in the town of Alabama than here might not seem like alot but if you are outside doing landscape or roofing .its not like just walking to the air-conditioned office to the car after work .its so miserably hot here you dont even want to go outside in july .aug .and housing in fl people rent 1 bedroom just a room for $600 a month vs a whole house in Alabama think about that .we feel for the people who move here look if you live in a small town and now why would someone want to stand in line longer?wait longer in traffic.why would you want to be in 105 degree temperature more days in the month?pay more for less .
Depends on what part of Alabama you move to cause there's a bunch of nice places that suck. Which that's in every state. I've lived in Alabama all my life and will be moving with in the next few years kinda ready to see other parts of the this beautiful country
for real my old lady is from mobile alabama we moved back her hometown for 2020 i have to say i love it grew up in south california and i always thought california is the best state until i lived mobile for a year people in alabama is nice and kind because in california only nice but not kind
You kept talking about incomes vs. Cost of living for richer and poorer people. Richer people take out more debt when i come on to housing because they can. The ratio is higher because all of the other bills stay the same. Quick easy example: richer person $100k/ year salary $10k/ yr food $10k/ yr car $50k/ yr house, etc. The poorer person: $55k/ yr salary $10k/ yr food $10k/ yr car $20k/ yr house. So the richer person not only makes more, but has a much lower ratio when buying things that do not change in price drastically. Giving the richer person the ability to acquire a much bigger house that the difference percentage from poor to richer. A lot of people don't realize that. Wealth is exponential. That's why there's such a huge difference between someone that makes $100k from $55k And there is not too much difference from $25k to $55k

Montgomery is a nice place to live if your children are grown. Otherwise, you have to move to Wetumpka, Prattville or Pike Road to get a decent education.
I've lived in the Montgomery area for 45 years. People get along pretty well. There are numerous mixed race neighborhoods (ALL RACES) and churches. Montgomery has a large Korean and Hispanic population.
Time are changing but check your history with what was normal in the 50s which today the Northern states may be find some riff in the South. Get over it and move one its 2022 but be friendly and happy!!!
Alabama people are sweet to your face, but behind your back, you are easily marginalized. Alabama is not the panacea that you are portraying. There are many reasons no one wants to move there and it's beyond your personal experience. The south, especially Alabamians, hold deep resentment on how the Civil war played out. This is passed down through the generations. Additionally, the mix of blacks against whites and now reverse discrimination, drama is boiling right under the surface, of that southern smile. I was born and raised in Alabama. I grew up in Mountain Brook, was educated in Birmingham, have family in Montgomery and am retiring in Pell City out of necessity; not desire. I miss West Palm Beach every day.. Every area is so different. What you find in Orange beach, and on the coast is dramatically influenced by Florida. What you find in North Alabama is more influenced by Kentucky and Tennessee. It's easy to end up in the wrong area. The traffic is bad because road building has not kept up with the population. There is a state tax and the government has limited resources, due to low incomes so they have to get revenue somehow. The prison system is big business in Alabama, so don't get in trouble. Anyway, after college I moved to Palm Beach County, Florida. The differences are astounding. Now I am preparing to retire back in Alabama as I have a brother there who needs caretaking, and it's been a very hard adjustment, back to the Alabama culture. It's quieter there, but the drama is petty and pervasive and race relations are worse than in a diverse culture like South Florida. The only way everyone keeps from killing each other, is keeping to themselves. What you see, in the light of day and in public, is vastly different from what is going on inside family homes; in the back woods of the rural area's and in the alleys of the cities. IT may not be Chicago ghetto, in your face with guns, but it's murderous, none the less, simply covered up, to prevent another civil war breaking out. Methamphetamine has ravaged the state, just as it has, all up through the Appalachians, of which Alabama is the southern most area. The rate of religiosity, is still through the roof, as it was when I was a child and people shoot guns like they play golf. God and country sounds nice, until you live it day in and day out. You are not being shown how people really feel. They are exercising southern hospitality, but you are not in the club. There is a reason the Governor is a pedigreed Grandmother. If you become a target, for any reason, you'll know it and it will not end well. Alabama is no Georgia and makes Gone with the Wind, look like a Disney movie. You're just not being shown what is running underneath that charming veneer. Move to Alabama, at your own risk.
Credit score does not = slavery. Dont be a race hustler. My credit score was crap and i am below the poverty rate. I worked hard and i got my score up. This is the promise of America that if you work hard you can reach your dreams.
We Alabamians have a huge benefit from the perception that we all marry our sisters, don't own shoes, pee off our front porches, lick each other's ear canals, drink Pabst Blue Ribbon for breakfast and can't read. Some of us can read.

Great video, brother! Daphne, Alabama here. You seem like a great Alabamian!!! 👍
I like your UA-cam video im interesting moving to the Tampa. bay or what can u tell me what's good place to move my family get SSI benefit Alabama states good place to raise kids and school also decent place work and construction job cuz my son his 18y his want to work for general labor job....
Getting BENEFITS in ALABAMA MUCH easier than TAMPA.. i WOULD NOT recommend you move to TAMPA talking bout benefits.. FOR REAL..

Shh, don't tell everyone our secrets. 🤫
yeah, you probably right
Fantastic information. I especially like crime rate explanation, as I worried about this most. Wish you did reviews on particular cities in AL. I’m seeing 35-40k houses around Troy, wondering if these are safe areas. Would love to buy a house cash. I’m in FL and that would be my downpayment here lol. I’m looking to buy a small farmland, like min 2 acres to live a calm life on, and would like to be surrounded by other farms but also need to be close to an airport. What area would be best?
Let me warn you, we had to move hack to Florida because crime and hate In Alabama is so bad. Your better off staying in Florida. I lost so much alabama is a mess. Theres a reason why homes are worthless there
Dont move there. Bad people we had to come back to Florida with less
Nice 'state review' type of video. I guess I'm a yankee, but people are so uptight up here. I noticed southern hospitality in Texas, I can't wait to see how it is in Alabama.
Hey you you moved back to Florida right?
What neighborhood did you drive through??
As a Mississippi native, I agree. I live near nice beautiful mountains and love the outdoors here.
You’re right about people assuming. Many people assume that everyone in Minnesota sounds like they did in the movie Fargo. No we don’t all say “Uffda” and “ya betcha”.
Jose give me your 3 to 5 best city to live in Alabama, please. Me gusta lo que tu haz estado enseñando desde que se mudaron..ayudame

Great video very informative I love how you break everything down thank you so much I appreciate you 😊😊
We moved out due to racism and gang violence
Looking at Alabama bro, I'm in Vegas but originally from San Diego, Ca. I want to leave Vegas asap, rent is going up almost 20% and houses are getting out bid by people coming into the state.
Lovely video, good job. I want to move there very soon
We moved away its very racist and backwards
I’m considering moving to Alabama from northern Minnesota. I’m looking into Gadsden, Huntsville, and Dothan. Any input on those cities?
It's easy to drive through the state and make judgments based on appearance. Yet Huntsville is top rated, which means it will become less affordable eventually. I'll look for a place the locals like you recommend.
Jose, do you think in the near future cities like Miami will lower the cost of living?
not a chance, only gonna get worst unless the ecological issues get worst
We’re looking to move there. I hate NY I can’t stand it unfortunately we got stuck here and it is a shame so many people dislike me just because I’m from NY.. I’m a country girl that got trapped absurd cost of living insane politics
Gracias por la info. Yo voy a ver casas en Dothan next week. You are awesome.
las afueras de la ciudad son mejores que hacia el centro. ven a prattville tambien!
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS ok muchas gracias. Ya puse a Prattville como opcion B. Afordable places and lower crime.
I have watched Nick Johnson's videos and you are spot on. He trashes Alabama and the south. I can't even watch his videos and take him in any form of seriousness. Another great video from y'all!
Another channel that bashes the south is World According to Briggs.
my wife and i are moving to Alabama soon as we get everything in order .for us its way to crowded here people on your heels constantly driving .grocery store .even gestation people trying to cut infront of you to get gas.and the 105 degree temperature .just those 2 things is eknuf to move.way less people in the town we are moving to in fl its 1million for orange county vs 20.000 in the city in Alabama .unless youve lived in central to south fl the humidity mixed with the sun is brutal so on average its 8-12 degrees cooler in the town of Alabama than here might not seem like alot but if you are outside doing landscape or roofing .its not like just walking to the air-conditioned office to the car after work .its so miserably hot here you dont even want to go outside in july .aug .and housing in fl people rent 1 bedroom just a room for $600 a month vs a whole house in Alabama think about that .we feel for the people who move here look if you live in a small town and now why would someone want to stand in line longer?wait longer in traffic.why would you want to be in 105 degree temperature more days in the month?pay more for less .
Depends on what part of Alabama you move to cause there's a bunch of nice places that suck. Which that's in every state. I've lived in Alabama all my life and will be moving with in the next few years kinda ready to see other parts of the this beautiful country
Since we made this video, we had to FLEE Alabama for our life. Racism and hate made staying in Alabama too dangerous
My husband and I are thinking about it. He has family there. We live in California and we are burnt out here
I wish you all the luck in the world. People say it is cheap for a reason.
Same here. We live in ca and moving in alabama this year
Okay 👍🏼
hi! :) what do you think about the Pinson Alabama? Birmingham?
I would avoid bham its in bad shape

I recently moved out of alabama. Its an easy place to build but if you are not from there i would not live. It was not the most welcoming place
Hey what ended up happening?
Alabama is AMAZING! And I’m Canadian! I live here now….moved here from mexifornia……that place SUCKS HARD!
Keep your Canada to yourself in Alabama. Anyone not from the south is a mexican to them
where was this video shot in or was it in Millbrook? I agree why stress to compete with Joneses and no I left the $2K a month mortgage 6 months ago.

Watched a few of your videos. You're very passionate about real estate. You should focus on a career in this field
I am, i agree. Its a long road.. i need a GED beforeni can even do that 😣 we should both get it
i like it but unfortunatly i liwe in europe and cant realy take my 5 things and mowe there that easy but lowe the state of alabama.
Very racist place
Awesome
for real my old lady is from mobile alabama we moved back her hometown for 2020 i have to say i love it
grew up in south california and i always thought california is the best state until i lived mobile for a year people in alabama is nice and kind because in california only nice but not kind
How about Mobile Alabama I’ve been thinking of moving there
DONT. and if you do BETTER end up in Baldwin County. Do PACE FL or MILTON you will thank me later.
I have only 1 question you have gone from loving Alabama to now bashing it why?
You kept talking about incomes vs. Cost of living for richer and poorer people.
Richer people take out more debt when i come on to housing because they can.
The ratio is higher because all of the other bills stay the same.
Quick easy example: richer person
$100k/ year salary
$10k/ yr food
$10k/ yr car
$50k/ yr house, etc.
The poorer person:
$55k/ yr salary
$10k/ yr food
$10k/ yr car
$20k/ yr house.
So the richer person not only makes more, but has a much lower ratio when buying things that do not change in price drastically.
Giving the richer person the ability to acquire a much bigger house that the difference percentage from poor to richer.
A lot of people don't realize that. Wealth is exponential.
That's why there's such a huge difference between someone that makes $100k from $55k
And there is not too much difference from $25k to $55k
Well I guess everyone was right because now they have left Alabama and they say they hate it.🤣🤣😂
nothing wrong with the places its the inbreeding racist people
That’s not the case in every city in Alabama, where I’m living most people earn $9.00 an hour
Nic Johnson says Huntsville is the best place to live in the South?
Were all entitled to an opinion. Its still in Alabama. Its definitely not the worst place,
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS I like Alabama, I don’t all the hate. But Im coming from San Francisco, CA So it doesn’t take much to impress me. I guess I have a unique perspective.

Ive talked to a lot of people prior to my move... and the only people that dont love the state are one of two people. Anti football people and those that have never actually been there and just assume its a fly over. Seems like if youve actually ever been here you love it.
Montgomery is a nice place to live if your children are grown. Otherwise, you have to move to Wetumpka, Prattville or Pike Road to get a decent education.
this whole area is toxic. so much hate

They should say "old fashioned".... and ...who cares what THEY say anyway.
Move to Alabama, at your own risk.
i lived the nightmare of a lifetime
I agree. Every word true. Moving from Alabama was my deliverance & redemption. Love not hearing Roll Tide every day.
Credit score does not = slavery. Dont be a race hustler. My credit score was crap and i am below the poverty rate. I worked hard and i got my score up. This is the promise of America that if you work hard you can reach your dreams.

Welcome to Alabama man Alabama Birmingham Centerpoint area but I am from West End in Birmingham
Alabama is a twist on Alhambra. The name is a holdover from the pre Columbian Moors.
We Alabamians have a huge benefit from the perception that we all marry our sisters, don't own shoes, pee off our front porches, lick each other's ear canals, drink Pabst Blue Ribbon for breakfast and can't read. Some of us can read.
