Maybe to another channel for more content, but I subs to this channel just for motherboard repair and I think alot of us are here bc of this. You can search YOUR LAPTOP MODEL, then type *disassembly* and you will find alot of content, but quality video about motherboard repaire is rare:) Thanks for content!
I love your crystal clear, unambiguous, no nonsense, logical, staccato, factually delivered pronouncements! If only more of our "society" could express themselves half as well as you consistently do!
I like that you threw in that other repair at the end. It threw me off my regular assumption that if the video still has extra time after Big boss reassembles and tests tells me you had to do some rework. Keep us guessing, great showmanship.
I play a fun game watching your videos. I try to guess your next step in troubleshooting. I have an A.A.S in Electronic Tech and am a bit surprised none of your techniques or even troubleshooting for that matter were taught throughout the training but at least I know the WHY's behind it. Thanks for the enlightenment and entertainment!
Every successful repair after, seeing the smiling faces is the real blessings. Especially the Big Boss and Big Bro. 🙏 Experience is the best teacher. The teacher brighten the ways of goodness. 🙏👏👏👏🙏
Amazing work as always. the sad truth is that the manufacturer would replace the entire mainboard instead of looking for the error and possibly replacing just one component. Thank you for the video. Greets

Most times the monitor will fail because electrolytic caps blow.
Great fix on that laptop! I have been watching your vids forever...one thing I noticed is your Beard, it keeps growing to a point you would fit humbly in Clutch territory...I approve!
You are such a nice guy.. Your work definitely better than factory.. Don't listen to those who taking a swipe at you and taking the piss of your good work.. They are just jealous 😅
I worked in a circuit board factory and there are different levels of quality. What you did to hard drive board was military grade so better than original factory quality control for sure. Nice flow.
Just by the fact that factory uses unleaded solder, Alex's work using leaded solder makes the whole job better than factory 😁You can be sure you won't have cracked solder joints.
I am a follower and support the three of you. This time, I am favoring Alex with his analysis and conclusion. I am a Six Signa greenbelt. This is a methodology created by engineers in the late 50. The process is on the principle that the majorities of failure falls on processes and manufacturing 90%of the time. PDCA or PDSA ( depending if you listen to Dr. Shewhart or Deming, people is the last to name as the cause of the problem and a scientific approach is used to find and fix the problem. Nvidia, review the concept of “ Poka-Yoke”. The American car manufacturers failed to follow this methodology in the 60s. The Japanese hired Dr. Deming and implemented the cultural change with Motorola and Toyota jumping into the Six Signa wagon. The rest is history of what happened to our USA car manufacturing industry. It is better to learn from vicarious experience that going through the painful and costly option. I support Alex and Jay 100%, I admired Steve for his research and Sherlock thinking. Nvidia, learned from the previous loser in our market driven economy. Thank you all.
Yep, you nailed it. Was my laptop and I mistakenly plugged in the wrong charger. My wife re-arranged the furniture in the living room and moved all the cords. I thought it was my laptop charger and plugged in a higher voltage charger... just took about 10 seconds...
I've been a bit confused as I was expecting a no fix since the video said «Failed» on it before I clicked to play it, but it's a better than factory victory again ! 🎉
I love how Alex talks to the camera as if he's streaming live asking and answering his own questions and objections lol. "Now is it better than factory!?" More like Gladiator "Are you not entertained!?" 🤺✍️💨
Mashallah sahbi, who's Urus is that in front of the shop 😍 wallahi crazy car and crazy repairs. Much love to you and mualem el mualimin from Europe Habibi. Keep up the great work!
how the hell does a board get into such a state on the hard drive a hiroshima ...ended better than factory alex... great to see big boss as always ...hoping the big move to a warehouse happens soon ..... maybe gets the techs you require to help you and your team ...
Hello Alex! Big fan here. I have to say I dont like this new camera angle. When I was able to see your bench and the microscobe screen at the same time I was feeling more into your operation. Just an opinion. Loves.
Awesome work. Did you ever work on a PS 5 dual sense docking station? Mine he's a broken spring pin (smd) for one controller and I would like to repair but new pin is nowhere to be found.
8:51 right side of sw white arrow You didn’t connected the second pin/leg of sw to the gnd just sw place holders which I don’t think that they are tied to one of the pin 🤔 Best,
Would a firmware from a donor motherboard work with your board ??? Or would some features stop working. Because the BIOS code is tightly coupled to the hardware it is written to.
whats up with that front facing camera, it feels so absolutely weird when switching between microscope view and that camera, side cam was best, just needed to be a bit higher quality ...
Old one was tvs, not sure replacement one was given it's location on donor board. Laptop would work with no diode and with this one but may not be protected against power surges.
@@JonnyFix This is the point, just because the laptop is working and the soldering is looking nice it doesn't mean that everything is perfect. Static electricity, for example, could produce greater damage at any given time if the diode is not right. I don't have a problem if you have to guess on a ceramic capacitor for example, but semiconductors...you can do it that way, but you don't have to 🤭
We need to see Big Boss putting devices back together, I struggle with reassembly, have for years. Would be good to see the master at work.
thats the easy part lol.
Recording may help
😎
Take pictures before dissasembly and keep parts and bolts organised 😉

Big Boss has one of the most underappreciated jobs having to disassemble/assemble all the devices. Someone skilled like that is a rare and talented.
Yeah that's why it's so good that Alex is so appreciative of his work and efficiency.
I love your crystal clear, unambiguous, no nonsense, logical, staccato, factually delivered pronouncements!
If only more of our "society" could express themselves half as well as you consistently do!
I miss the old camera angle where I could see the multimeter, Power injector and your bench 😢
I like that you threw in that other repair at the end. It threw me off my regular assumption that if the video still has extra time after Big boss reassembles and tests tells me you had to do some rework. Keep us guessing, great showmanship.

your happiness and good nature is infectious.

I don't know how Alex has time for his family with all this mega content.
I love the smile you have when you fix things. Looks like you still really enjoy the work. You inspire me.
You are a MAESTRO, and a Sheikh al Mashaikh. Salute from Toronto!
You are such a nice guy.. Your work definitely better than factory.. Don't listen to those who taking a swipe at you and taking the piss of your good work.. They are just jealous 😅
There mad he can fix things in 10 minutes :D
I know why it's better than factory...you put love in it!! Awesome job.
I worked in a circuit board factory and there are different levels of quality.
What you did to hard drive board was military grade so better than original factory quality control for sure. Nice flow.
Brother, most of your work looks honestly better than factory.
Those hands are blessed brother .
Your work is amazing . I love your attitude too . Priceless wisdom
BETTER THEN FACTORY 100%
Thanks for upgrading the main video camera. Finally!!!
Your UA-cam miniatures and titles are honest. Thank you!
Better Than Factory And Any Other Technician 👍

Nice work, the customer used a higher voltage charger or bad charger, that diode failed for some reason. It is better then factory.
Yep, you nailed it. Was my laptop and I mistakenly plugged in the wrong charger. My wife re-arranged the furniture in the living room and moved all the cords. I thought it was my laptop charger and plugged in a higher voltage charger... just took about 10 seconds...
Def better solder joints then factory. You’ve got this down to a science and enjoy all ur vids
I've been a bit confused as I was expecting a no fix since the video said «Failed» on it before I clicked to play it, but it's a better than factory victory again ! 🎉
4:28 How did you do this? You have 3 arms? Hot air gun + 2 tweezers!
Love your videos Alex. You are so clear and a good teacher.
I'm loving the new camera angle Alex, you're very photogenic 🙂
I love how Alex talks to the camera as if he's streaming live asking and answering his own questions and objections lol. "Now is it better than factory!?" More like Gladiator "Are you not entertained!?" 🤺✍️💨
Alex and big boss working like a machine.
From Greece, Άριστα!!
That's better than factory, cause it's done with pride for your job!👌😀
Finally you switched to a better camera.. Keep growing Sir..
welcome back big boss! how was your vacation?
Wow nice cam portrait mode🔥🔥 lit fire, shout out
Mashallah sahbi, who's Urus is that in front of the shop 😍 wallahi crazy car and crazy repairs. Much love to you and mualem el mualimin from Europe Habibi. Keep up the great work!
Man pans his camera up to show a gorgeous Lamorghini Urus sitting outside his shop, great end to a video indeed
Alex you have good sense of humour I like that
Fantastic work again, always a laugh and always better than factory!!!
Factories have a standard called 'Even better than NorthridgeFix' , which is the highest achievement possible :)
how the hell does a board get into such a state on the hard drive a hiroshima ...ended better than factory alex... great to see big boss as always ...hoping the big move to a warehouse happens soon ..... maybe gets the techs you require to help you and your team ...
Factory does cost effective soldering, meaning just enough solder and flux which rarely leaves something shiny to look at.
Seems like you upgraded your camera's. I see you very clearly now and your last couple of videos too.
Hello Alex! Big fan here. I have to say I dont like this new camera angle. When I was able to see your bench and the microscobe screen at the same time I was feeling more into your operation. Just an opinion. Loves.
You don't mince words. You rock.
Nice job alax I always enjoy watching👍
Top Commonly used phrases at NorthridgeFix:
1. "and yes, we do have a short"
2. "and the short is gone"
3. "it's a Hiroshima"
"What can you do?" 😂
You fix stuffs, Always better than factory.
Alex is better then factory, JUST DEAL WITH IT PEOPLE! 💫😎🤑
At this point the factory is NOT BETTER.
IT BROKE. Yours actually works.
So... BETTER THAN FACTORY
Of course it's better than factory because it has that silver dot which makes it unique! ;-)
Boss of all bosses. Even bigger than MGS’s “Big Boss”. 😊
Excellent camera quality! Nice upgrade! 👍
Jon Stewart does it again!!
6:00 private Big Boss taxi came at the end of his working day... :D
Will you place a 3 amp diode if you cant find a replacement?
i shorted my g531gv motherboard between cpu and gpu dies probably with liquid metal :D. This thermal camera is a complete life saviour!
They never worked in a factory !Hoping you find a bigger place !
Please make a vedio on how to check Mosfet i am confused which one is ground... Drain or source
I didn't find the hot tweezers on your website. DO you sell these?
I THINK THE OLD CAMERA ANGLE IS BETTER THAN JUST NOW 🤔
Do you have an online tutorial session.. I really want to improve my skill
What are thw small circles on those componenets? mainly located near the corner?
Tells you which is pin 1
Awesome work. Did you ever work on a PS 5 dual sense docking station? Mine he's a broken spring pin (smd) for one controller and I would like to repair but new pin is nowhere to be found.
It can be better than Factory as you use lead solder so the solder joints should last longer
as always awesome and better than factory
I have 1080p microscope camera to I dont know how to record video he only have HDMI output and usb port how you record it?
Alex's work is like a blue printed engine versus one off an assembly line - #betterthanfactory
What camera do you have that is pointed at you? Good quality.
Love the new camera angle. Awesome work, keep it up
How much voltage to used to inject the mosfet to find the short?
He said "about 1.4 volts", at time 1:26 😀
8:51 right side of sw white arrow
You didn’t connected the second pin/leg of sw to the gnd just sw place holders which I don’t think that they are tied to one of the pin 🤔
Best,
I do not understand. Why does the firmware chip need to be moved to the new board?
This contact is 2x stronger than the robot.
Would a firmware from a donor motherboard work with your board ??? Or would some features stop working.
Because the BIOS code is tightly coupled to the hardware it is written to.
Good job mate 👍
Seems like u upgraded your camera. This one is better for sure.
5:26 the laptop had no chnace but to turn on after the 5 seconds stare of Mr. Big Boss
like the new camera angle...............:)
In my opinion yes way better than factory I see that chip was half way soldered from that start ...
is shipping to Ethiopia available? I want to buy different components from you please late me know
whats up with that front facing camera, it feels so absolutely weird when switching between microscope view and that camera, side cam was best, just needed to be a bit higher quality ...
Love you man 🙏
Can you please ask big boss to do tear down and build back videos of the devices he takes apart?
Work done by perfection is better then factory always. Afterall factory made by experience hands.
Big BOSS is the BOSS 👏👍
Just watched this video again lol. That's awesome see you did perfect... Just same as Dr Surgery... Good job, Dr Alex lol. 😁
Factory was broken! Now it's not! Better than factory 🏭
What is the highest number of successful repairs you've done in one day?
Extend greetings to the logistics department ❤️
10:55 it is better then factory
Nice work!
It is batter then factory, we print solder paste on pcb as thin as a sheet of paper. So it is batter then factory.
Of course it's better than factory. You're not using that brittle, crack-prone, lead-free garbage solder like the factories do.
Wait... the old diode on the mainboard had a complete different marking compared to the replacement. Did You check the datasheet to compare 🤔
It's most likely a TVS diode, and they're all very similar in laptops.
Old one was tvs, not sure replacement one was given it's location on donor board. Laptop would work with no diode and with this one but may not be protected against power surges.
@@JonnyFix This is the point, just because the laptop is working and the soldering is looking nice it doesn't mean that everything is perfect.
