In the past I used B-Square side mount and the Weaver side mount both had no issues using them, in fact I used the B-Square also as a carry handle with the scope installed and it held zero all day long.
Nice review. It is not often you hear folks say there is an issue with some new product. When I looked at your sight layout it reminded me of the 3rd generation springfield Aluminum mounts that pushed the scope way up high. Don't put a heavy scope on one as the mount surfaces peen up aluminum from the impact torque of the rifle firing. Your review points out a potential issue, but it depends on the person and their needs.
Yes I do know about it... Only issue is once I add it I'll probably never take it off so there goes my channel content. Kinda need to test other things first... Such as this video.
The fix is getting a Promag Archangel Stock. It is fully adjustable and will allow you to use whatever optic you desire. People complain about its fitment but I found a way to fit all Minis without grinding or modification, they are cheap and extremely functional not to mention look badass!
Ya gotta get a Promag Archangel Stock on that Mini!!!!!..... trust me you won't regret it!!!....fully adjustable and i think it would go great with this GG&G pic rail.... the stock is always on sale.... look it up my bro... youl love it.... and they do offer it in FDE since i see uou like the sand color.

@OuterLimitless2 it's a light mount from Skinner Sights, I initially wanted to get the Samson Hannibal rail to mount a light but at the time they were expensive, now the Samson rail is around $113 if you look around but this light mount wasn't to cheap either at $60, if I could go back I would maybe get that Samson rail but I also don't use those pistol red dots that the Samson rail is really ment for. I like it, does what it's intended for and light weight, look them up at Skinner Sights.
Just commented without reading your comment..... Archangel is the way to go!.... I've had it on my Mini30 for a few years now and absolutely love it, fully adjustable and functional!.... like I commented, I found a way to fit my Mini30 without modification or grinding of any sort.
It's a pain in the butt. Really is. I installed one and before using loctite, I had to ensure the rail was centered with the bore and flush with the receiver. Plenty of adjustments of course comes with it but ensuring the rail is sitting straight and dead center of the bore took some thinking. I used a bore laser and a laser mounted to the rail in order to line it up. Only then would I use the loctite. With a check riser it works well. I went through hell figuring out the best method as there isn't much help online. Like no one wants to admit that it isn't easy. The rail has to be centered and flush so that you use as little scope adjustments as possible. You don't want it dead on at 50 yards, two three feet left at 100 and in the next county at 150 yards. lol
@@gmz1997 great advice with the lasers. i found a beautiful 186 series at my local pawn and put her on layaway without knowing anything about these guns. only now figuring out i probably screwed myself with optics.
I have used ruger mini 30 enough to understand the individual will either have to stick with scope, red dot reflect or iron sights. There is no ability to use both types on this rifle at the same time.

So the part most folks don't tell you about is that lining up the mount with the receiver and barrel is a pain in the ass.
Thank you for your honesty. Awesome video. Good job.

Have you checked out the Hannibal Rail by Samson for mini 14, 30. Looks like it gives the best cheek weld.

I heard since it sits right on top of the barrel and doesnt have much ventilations if any, it tends to heat up @OuterLimitless2
You should try the SAMSON pic rail, it works great.
What's the difference between the ruger ranch mini 14

Different stock with adjustable cheek riser would be needed .

I've seen that promag stock... It does look very nice!

@bolriconyc3795 what's the gas block light adapter you have on there?

Would you consider replacing the stock with one that has a cheek raiser? I've been eyeing out the Archangel mini 14 stock
Same. That stock with a high cheek pad seems like it would make this mount the hot ticket.

So a cheek riser might help with it?
Why not just add a Cheek Riser to the GG&G mount, is it that high that it sits uncomfortably low in the shoulder?
thank you
Could you make a video on how to install it? The instructions that come with it arent great😊

@@gmz1997 I eventually said screw it and just used scope rings

Just fit a cheek riser.
The wood stock is higher than the black stock.
