For the Mini-30, maybe try the AAC steel cased 7.62 x 39 mm (by PSA). It uses a different primer than the Russian steel cased for about the same price and may get rid of your light primer strikes.

Just a thought for the mini 14, 62 is the lightest I’d shoot. 64 is better but 68 or 69 with the 1:9 Twist may yield the best accuracy. Keep the speed around 2800 fps. Nice job. Best of luck.

2 potential issues with the Mini 30. 1. Ruger doesn't put a heavy hammer spring nor a firing pin that can engage the 7.62X39 round reliably. I don't know why Ruger does this, most people are going to opt for the Tulammo over factory U.S. loadings, the Tula is much less expensive, so duh!!!!! Ruger only recommends using U.S. ammo in the Mini 30, but everyone is going top opt for the less expensive ammo. 2. The Russian 7.62X39 round has a very hard primer which makes it less reliable in the Ruger. If Ruger would address the hammer spring issue and the firing pin, it would be much more desirable. I'd like to see a comparison between the Mini 30 and an SKS, which is the most logical apples to apples comparison, and no one has done it yet. Do you have an SKS to compare the Mini 30 to? Otherwise, great video comparing the 2 different Rugers. Stainless in wood is a very attractive classic look. The Mini 30 is a good looking rifle. I agree, scoping it should improve it's accuracy considerably, and that's the way to go if you're going to use it for hunting.

In the past I used B-Square side mount and the Weaver side mount both had no issues using them, in fact I used the B-Square also as a carry handle with the scope installed and it held zero all day long.

I could be wrong, but i think the cut out is not there for ejection clearance purposes. I think it's there for your fingure or other implements for clearing the action in case of a jam or for cleaning and lubing like with a bore snake. Just my thoughts...

for my 18th birthday over 6 years ago my grandpa gave me a first generation ruger 10/22 that he said he only shot maybe a few thousand rounds out of, I still own the gun, I began working at a sporting goods store not too long after that and made good friends that like to goto the range, they took me out and I decided to bring a few of my guns out and one happened to be that 10/22 my grandpa gave me, man when I tell you it jammed on literally every round... im not even joking. I got home that day and I took the gun apart, I really just removed the barrel/receiver from the stock, I didnt actually take the trigger group off/apart nor even the bolt assembly. I just kinda blasted everything in sight with solvent and scrubbed it up... took it back out and did the same thing... shot a bit more reliably but still was jamming too often, so I stumbled on a complete tear down video and learned how to remove the trigger group. man... im telling you right now it was the first time that trigger group has been removed from that receiver....... was probably like 40-50 years of carbon,lead,brass buildup... your video did help a lot in the reassembly process so I thank you for that! gun shoots like the day it was made now! (P.S after it was all said and done, after the complete tear down and cleaning the gun shot like butter. I did happen to run into a few feeding issues here and there tho which turned out to be that my mags were really old. some I was able to take apart and clean/retune. but most went in the trash, with some new mags and the rebuilt mags it runs like a top!)

Nice review. It is not often you hear folks say there is an issue with some new product. When I looked at your sight layout it reminded me of the 3rd generation springfield Aluminum mounts that pushed the scope way up high. Don't put a heavy scope on one as the mount surfaces peen up aluminum from the impact torque of the rifle firing. Your review points out a potential issue, but it depends on the person and their needs.

thank for the video I have a question,,, the g600 works fine in the daytime with great pics but at night the photos are VERY blurred like fog on the lense that I can not make out what the animal is. It has done this consistantly since I have owned this trail cam. I have changed locations and it consistanly does it. I sure would appreciate any suggestions! thanks

I want one. You called this a Rapid Force Drop Leg in your title but I think it's really a Cloak Mod Swivel Drop Leg. Probably just semantics but I just came from their website and that's what they call it. Unfortunately, their drop down list doesn't mention a Hellcat Pro with red dot - bummer. I said semantics because the rig itself is the Cloak Mod Drop leg "rig" and then the holster is a Rapid Force Holster. I bet any thing that's what goin on.
