I am not only well informed by your shaves but incredible enough , I am somehow comforted from the flower opening sequence to the banter , to the review and the menu ! Thanks for sharing your quiet time Sir!
I love the shaves I get with my Q-Shave (the other clone). My matt finish goes the length of the razor. I've been testing blades and Journaling my shave adventures in Badger & Blade and the Q-Shave is one I use in my rotation of razors for testing blades.
The wife has been hounding about what i want for Christmas so I handed her a two-page list of different razors soaps and brushes she will never understand that I will never have enough shaving supplies until I have them all
My MingShi finally arrived and had a test drive this morning, what a fantastic piece of kit!. Also tried a cold water shave with green proraso all round, I love this beast, started on setting 2 but ended up on setting 4 which seemed to be the sweet spot for me.
Got the Ming shi last week. IMPRESSED! Being a Chinese made razor for under £10 (mine was £7.50) I was scepticle that the mechanism would hold up. Have played about with it and disassembled it I will say that this razor is built very well and there are no obvious weak points. The adjustment really does work, setting one is super smooth, 6 is aggressive. Just how I would expect. I see no reason why this razor wouldn't last several years at lease. I would strongly recommend this razor. I have urge to buy a merkur futur for the time being.
What a lovely Shaving Altar on background ;) I've got Ming Shi with a plastic travel box. The case is good, but have one disadvantage - Feather blades in plastic case does not fit in Ming Shi box.
Hi Paul . Thank you Mrs H . Nice side by side shave Paul . Gray dog makes some gorgeous brushed . Very nice shave . Have a wonderful day Paul , and fantastic week . Thank you
Great comparo, Paul. Good to see that the Ming Shi is a good shaver. I have always felt that the Futur was priced fairly, for what it is. I don't foresee buying the Ming Shi, as I have a Futur already. I hope that there's room in the market for both. I've been getting over a cold this week, but feeling better now. Great shaves, primarily with the old Gillette Fatboy. I did a comparison/contrast with old Proraso Red versus a few expensive and excellent artisan soaps. The old Proraso didn't fare too badly in the deal. As you often point out, you don't have to spend that much money to get a great shave. Cheers!
Thanks Patrick, yes it is a good razor, but always nice to have the original. Glad your feeling better, and the shaves sound good too, good soap Proraso isn't it.....all the best and have a good week....Paul.
Hi Paul. You're right on about the C&E shave soap, I ended up with two of the bad ones. BUT, the C&E customer service here in Australia were superb at fixing up the issue. Good to know that they listen to the voice of the customer!! There are a few copies of the Merkur Futur kicking about. In a popular high street store here in Australia, there's the Wahl Traditional Barbers which is identical but about half the price. Interesting to hear that they are almost identical. Thanks for the comparison test. All the best Paul.
Thanks Mike, yes C&E have now gone back to the original formula in there hard soaps thankfully....good to know about the customer service. all the best and thanks Mike....Paul.
Hi Paul. Can't beat TOBS for quality and scent, always a favorite. Interesting comparison, the Future brought the color.. the clone seemed ready. Thanks Mrs H for another stunning display, and for you sharing with us..
Thanks very much for sharing the video, Paul. I purchased a Futur clone called the QShave for $15 (11GBP). That was money well spent. In my experience, the razor provides a great shave. Kudos once again to Mrs. H for the beautiful flowers!
I have the Ming Shi 2000 and I favor it over my Merkur Progress and Parker Variant. Purchased mine at Maggards and the first one only shaved on one side. Brad quickly sent me a replacement which was perfect. $15.00 USD Highly recommend its purchase. Great video Paul. Makes my Wednesday and Sunday mornings a joy.
Today is a real holiday. Firstly, you will compare two popular razors. Secondly, a beautiful bouquet with different colors in video. And of course your cheerful humor.) And of course your favorite soap. Wow red mixing bowl is back! Thanks for this comparing!)
Excellent looking razor. I love the Futur and would buy a Ming Shi. That brush is a beautiful thing to giveaway. Someone will be honored to win that. Great Shave Paul and gorgeous flowers Mrs. H!! Best wishes to you
Thank you Darin, yes very pleased with it, always worry about clones being cheap and nasty things....but no good job on this one....hope someone will enjoy the brush yes, all the best to you too......Paul.
Happy Sunday Paul! Mrs. H has out done herself yet again with those flowers. Stunning. Oh, yes...I've succumb. I have a package from Above the Tie coming with a cooper Windsor razor. Further, I went out antique hunting and found a 1959 Gillette Fat Boy ($25) and a 1929 Gillette Tuckaway ($12.50). Plus there are blades and soaps coming. I like this comparison. I find my ideal razor weight is 80 g. I prefer a compact razor...lengths over 4 inches (101.6 mm) I don't find maneuverable. I tend to compare shave quality, in terms of closeness, to the Muhle R41. I have never had another razor pickup after the R41, but the R41 will pickup after all my other razors...so far. The Ming Shi seems to do the job. I am surprised at the quality of fit and finish. Lets see how it holds up over the years. I really wanted to get a brush from Graydog. Alas, he hasn't responded to my inquiries. Hoping I can get lucky with the give away or a reply from the man himself...either way I am happy. Enjoy you Sunday roast dinner! "More gravy please". Take care.
Thank you Todd, yes great flowers aren't they, love the colours too.... Above The Tie is excellent high quality, your razor sounds amazing, nice on the vintage razor hunting too....the R41 is a great razor, again it takes no prisoners with the whiskers...lol...or skin if it gets in the way. strange Graydog has not replied, I hope he has not been overwhelmed with people contacting him, I'm sure he will respond (hopefully)...or yes you may get lucky with the brush...each one is unique....hope you have a great week Todd.....all the best....Paul.
If you go two number 6 with the mean she and pinch the top of the razor with your thumb and turn it past the six, you'll end up with the Merkur settings.
Good comparison. Have used Merkur for five years. Problem is the torsion bars inside the head can slide. Put several coatings of clear finger nail position to hold them in position. Otherwise no problems. A quality product. Than you. Recommend Aftra blades very cheap and sharp.
Paul: Great video and great comparison. The heads do look almost identical. Might have to look into one of those. Also, thats a big brush but bet it will work great
I'm sticking with the future,im sure the ming shi is a great razor.my brush is thavma synthetic, lil pricey but its holding up pretty good after a year of using it
Great review Paul on two pretty similar razors. Almost aesthetically the same and decent shaving results from what I saw. Moral to the story, just because it's cheap doesn't mean you'll get a worse shave. Most of the credit would have to go to the Wilkinson blade. A very good blade indeed. Love the brushes by Graydog. Nice handle styles and knots. Great soap and aftershave combo as well. Always enjoy your videos. Very informative and a joy to watch. Have a great day Paul.
Thank you Frank, yes a very good razor the Ming Shi, did have my doubts, but it does the job, and a fraction of the cost, you can't beat owning the Original, but this is as good....all the best and thanks....Paul.
Great Sunday Shave.. Was wondering if a $10 knockoff razor really worked... Thanks for that. TOBS shave cream , still the gold standard of performance to judge all other shave soaps/creams.
I enjoyed the comparison. It’s funny how scents are so personal preference. This was my 1st TOB since I have a sensitive neck I figured it would be amazing. I didn’t like the scent and found the lather thin and weak like is seems you got here. I didn’t find it slick & left my face very dry. I was going to try it one more time & give it away. I have a Futur & dig the black look the clones come in. I’ll grab one of these mingshi as my road trip/travel razor. For $18 USD on eBay hard to beat!
I've had the ming shi for a couple of months now but haven't used it. I'm going to use it tomorrow morning now. I bought it and put it aside and forgot about it. :)
Great shave as always Paul and them flowers are beaut tell Mrs H 👍 Ive been fancying a merkur futur for a while now but at the moment cannot justify paying so much for it, so instead i just ordered myself a ming shi and i will see it as a tester whether or not i will buy a futur in the future 😁 cheers for the great video, all the best, Ashley.
Hy, i have for one year the Progress, and now the ming shi got to my hand, and i use it on seting one, like the progress, and its very good, i am glad that now i have the 'Future' too :) Thanks for the confidence for the chinese product! It feels very good quality.
Hi Paul, I got a Ming Shi a couple of weeks ago and really enjoy using it. I haven't ventured above setting 3 yet but once I feel totally confident handling it I'll ratch it up. Currently I'm waiting for a Wilkinson sword blue stick to arrive and I'm very very close to ordering a candure shavette - the itch won't go away so I might have to give in and order one - it's a terrible addiction 😅
Hope you enjoy the Ming Shi Neill, great razor, I love the Wilkinson Sword blue stick...oh and your thinking of the Candure too...lol.....welcome to the Wet Shavers Addiction Club :-))....all the best....thanks...Paul.
Hi Paul. Great comparison, I've been considering purchasing an adjustable razor. Btw, if you really want to get the best Williams Mug Soap lather, simply hold the puck in your dry hand and use a very damp, barely dripping brush. Just let the thin, runny lather drip off and keep going for about thirty seconds, then add only a few drops of water if necessary. Works a treat for me everytime, enough for five passes. No need to soak the puck. Let me know how that works for you, as I fully expect that technique to work well for you too.
Hey Paul, you have perfect timing since I will be giving a friend the Ming Shi for his birthday tomorrow! I am also giving him your favorite, the Wilkinson Sword Classic razor with blades too. I got the Ming Shi a few months ago and really like it but glad you did a review since I have never shaved with the original Futur. Cheers, Mark
Hi Paul . Great shave. I have the Q shave which sounds like it's similar to the Mingh. I don't have the futur but I think the Q Is probably my favourite out of my small collection.
Hi Kevin, I have been told the Q shave and the Ming shi are the same razor, good aren't they...the price is very attractive too......all the best and thanks.....Paul.
Paul, with the adjustable's, try pass1 on a low setting like 1/2 and turn it up a stop on each subsequent pass. Tried it the other way round but was more impressed going up for BBS on or by the 3rd cleanup pass. Cheers, enjoying the videos still, love the wifys flowers and wishing you the best from downunder! PS: Love the thinner, lighter ming myself. Was surprised by the blades that came with it as they didnt suck unlike other cheap blades Ive tried.
Thanks Steve, yes will try that method too, nice to have a change....looking forward to trying the Nacet blades which came with this and the Ming Shi blades....all the best and thanks.....Paul.
Good video Paul , Taylor of old town soap is my #1 soap of all time and I have tried a few soaps in my time and the future is my #2 razor out of #5 in that order lol Keep up the good work on the videos maybe do some more Taylor of old town soap reviews so some of your other Watchers can see how good TOBS soap really is. Thank you Wade
Outstanding comparison of razors Paul! I've checked on getting a Merkur Futur but it was out of my budget range, although I think it would be well worth it. I'll check on the price of the Ming Shi for I would like to try an adjustable razor. I agree with you that if everyone could have a relaxing shave with Mrs. H's beautiful flowers there would be world peace! Too much greed and hate in the world! My back has been giving me trouble again, but I'm able to take strolls around the yard and watch the leaves turn with Autumn's approach, so life is good. A few peppers left to pick, the one's I grew in pots. I brought the Habanero's inside and can't wait to try them, they might be too hot for me so I'll easy my way into them. Hope to watch your hiking videos today, much better than Sunday football madness in my book. Take care, Ossie P.S. Thank's to Gray Dog too!
Thank you Ossie, hope your back is better soon, glad you can still potter about though, the chillies sound great, hope you enjoy them, I have an update on mine to do too.....I quite like Autumn, all the colour changes and nice crisp air...hope you enjoy the walk video too when you watch it.....Graydog has been very kind, I really appreciate it too.....all the best Ossie.....regards to Mrs W too.......Paul.
Hi Paul, just ordered the razor from e-bay, they call it a "QShave" and only $14.00 w/free shipping, but it's the same razor, just sent through and inspected in the U.S., I can't wait, should have it by Friday!!! Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the video and, as always, thanks to Mrs H too for the beautiful bouquet. As some of the guys who posted before I bought a QShave branded clone, even though it's plain ugly to me, just like the genuine, it performs pretty well. I enjoy every razor I use, be it cheap or expensive, but I'll enjoy this one even more when I learn to shave With my back facing the mirror. Just a matter of personal taste anyway, I use it often and agree with you that it's a good purchase. Have a nice start to the week
Amazing shave yet again and a very interesting comparison! I just had a really good shape today and I also used a Taylor of old Bond Street product the sandalwood cream! :-) I went back to my Merkur 34C because it still had a blade in it, a Derby blade on its Second Use so I decided to use that on 3 days growth and it worked out really well. Unfortunately I am going to miss your Wednesday shave as I will be on route to Ireland for my 2 week stay over there! :-) and I'll probably miss your Sunday shave as well but I will definitely catch up with you as soon as possible! Cheers Paul!
I'm so happy you are doing this comparison. I have the Q-shave futur clone and love it. I'm even getting one engraved lol. I hope the Chinese make more clones like this.
Paul have you got your T-shirt on backwards, noticed the logo on your back right shoulder lol, the Ming shi for the price is a dam good razor, gives me good shaves all the time.
Lol glad there is someone else who bought that knock off future and I did not mind it so glad I'm in the club with you Paul it's a big club I think Cheers
Great shave Paul, if you just shaved with the Ming Shi without the Merkur to compare to,do you think you could tell i difference. A very nice brush to give away. A excellent chanel keep up the good work.
Hi, Paul. I bought a Mingshi recently and I have very good results too. The Mingshi blades were nice too. No complaints here, this one is worth trying. I would like to see it with a shorter handle with good knurling for grip...that would be awesome. Those brushes are beautiful, throw me one across the pond, ok? Lol. Great review, thanks. Ty H
Interesting shave Paul, the clone looks exactly the same, I own a futur myself but very seldom use it as I'm a daily shaver its too aggressive for my skin type so i usually get it out every now and again, and your new soap sounds interesting so look in the futur to seeing it. -All the best Mark.
Thanks Mark, yes it is a good clone to be fair, with a couple differences that's all, yes the soap is very different, look forward to using it, all the best Mark......Paul.
Great video Paul I'm sure many people will appreciate the comparison shave. I have got both this and the Qshave from amazon and so far cannot fault the quality Strangely they are tempting me to invest in the genuine futur for comparison. Mrs H has done a wonderful job with the flowers again beautiful and colourful. Enjoy your weekend all the best.
Thanks Steven, yes good razors to be fair, but I still am glad to have the Merkur Futur....good solid razor...all the best and have a great week ahead.....Paul.
Great comparison video Paul, do you know if you lift head and turn it gives you another 6 settings? I'd love to see a video on setting 12 😁 I darent try it
I have been using the clone since July, its a fantastic razor, close to being my top razor and I have more than 30 razors to choose from, would love a gold version. Great vid as always paul
Hey paul great sunday shave i have the ming si 2000s i have used it once i should go back and use it again i think i will. Have a great weekend look foward to the mid week shave
PaulHFilms I just got a 30mm boar (whipped dog knot) and put it into a rubberset handle. Looks and feels amazing 😋 take care Paul. Sorry I'm lacking in commenting. But I've watched every video mate
Completely awesome video Paul. Fantastic products and very informative. TOBS Jermyn Street is also one of my Favorites. Take care my friend. SHAVE ON!!!!
great video. i own the edwin de89 and ming and prefer the ming. do you mind trying the cold water method to break in the new boar of yours? i have seen a few videos on it and am curious what you think about it.
Paul, outstanding as always! You always make it fun and I just love the fact That I can always count on 2 shaving videos a week from you! Thanks for your commitment. (And love 007 channel also) That big boar knot is from the Omega pro. The size of the handle is a attempt to make a brush that is easier to hold for someone who has worked with their hands all their life and has trouble holding onto a smaller handle instead of being small and hard to grip ,my idea was to give it some girth. The wood is called Jobilio from central America.
Thanks Graydog, great brushes, really like them, someone will be lucky to have that two band badger....lovely.....I thought the boar brush resembled the Omega Pro.....nice idea that , helps with big hands, and as you say working hands....thanks for the info on the handle too.....all the best, very much appreciated as always......Paul.
ADDICTION of ordering stuff !!! Im now buying shaving gear on E bay via click and collect,, ,so the wife doesn't know . I love my Ming Shi, Had it months but only just started to use the blades in my 89L and 26C l was surprised how good they were ! but l cant seem to buy them anywhere. Just started on Euromax blades ,WOW. good .
I have a Ming Shi as well as a QShave, which is the same razor. They are great razors. I don't own a Futur, but I've read that its handle is thicker which probably accounts for most of the weight difference. I thought getting under the nose would be a problem, but it's fine.
I have both and purchased a stand for the Ming Shi 2000S. The handle is thicker on the Merkur Futur and it sadly won't fit into the Ming Shi stand. Also, the numbers are pressed into the Mekur Futur handle, while only printed on the Ming Shi 2000S (undoubtedly to keep the price down).
Great shave Paul... I bought a Ming Shi to try and I have to say I must have got a duff one. The blade edges 'smile' a little when loaded so couldn't get a really good shave from it- the blade was just a little bit bowed, I think if you can get lucky with a good one, it is well worth the cash though. I see you got some Nacet blades with your purchase ...love 'em! Quite a nice blade them.
That is a shame, and probably what can happen with clones too...yes a good value razor all the same....yes Nacet blades and look forward to using them....all the best and thanks Mark......Paul.
Great shave comparison mate, lovely flowers as always ! I have the Qshave, an awesome razor for the price, gives a great shave and I'm really pleased with mine. One day I'd love to buy the gold Merkur Futur, that is one good looking piece of kit. Hope you enjoyed the Scrumpy Jack, a lovely drop of cider. Cheers for the video Paul 🍺
Thanks Mick, yes it's a great razor isn't it, and the price is very nice too.....the Gold Futur is amazing...always wanted one....all the best....Paul.
The Ming is tempting and I am glad you did the review. I just have this uncomfortable feeling about purchasing the clone when the original is still made. If I buy the Ming I know, like it or hate it, I'll then have to have the Futur. Buy the Merkur, curiosity will insist on trying the knock off. On second thought, I don't think your review was helpful at all. All the best my friend.
Hi Paul, great video and comparison shave - thanks for doing it. Can I ask a favour please, can you let me know (message me to keep your comments clear) which video you mention / how you clean old razors you have bought. I just received a Gillette 1962 Slim adjustable I a mdying to use, but want to give a good clean first. Many thanks, Brian
Hi Brian, yes no problem, what I do with a razor, is clean it first with hot tap water and either shaving soap or hand soap, to get the dirt off, rinse in hot water, then get a toothbrush and use a anti-bacterial hand soap, and give it a good clean, then rinse again with hot water, you can also use barbicide, but I don't like using that on old razors just incase it harms them.....(too harsh)....that normally does the job, you can also get some surgical spirit and dip the razor in that, then rinse.....all seems to work fine, making the razor safe to use.....hope you enjoy your Gillette Slim Adjustable....Paul.
Hello Paul, you cracked one about the addiction, I left Gillette. No more said. I wasn't a big shaver, once or twice a week if the world was lucky and used a Mach3 which to be honest worked for me. Last mach3 blade was going to see Gillette out. Meanwhile I had looked for something reasonably priced with good reviews, I bought a Rockwell 6C, the price kept the wife happy. Watching you and other shaving youtubers and the nice shaving gear you promote drew my attention to the Merkur Futur but thought "Na, too much for a razor.............Blah blah. Now I have the Ming shi, Merkur Futur 702, Dovo Solingen Stainless Shavett, Rockwell 6C and thinking about the Leaf Shave. OOOh! dear. When will it end?
I have both razors and lean to the Ming Shi. Mostly because I like the lighter weight of the 2. Also, I beleive the head is a tad thinner which helps for under the nose. The Ming Shi is the best value in the razor world right now. You want a R41 like shave crank it up to 6. You want a smooth Tech like shave dial it down. Over all the best valued adjustable razor in my book. Enjoyed the video.
Hello , I don't own a Chatworth Barley, but I should think the Merkur Futur will be much more aggressive, so depends what you want out of the razor......thanks :-)
Hello Paul I know it's an old video but do you find the ming shi still shaves as well as it did when new. I have the qshave version and I find the head feels loose when shaving but wasn't expecting much for the price. I am waiting on a new razor from the States a Viking Blades The Crusader, a new adjustable razor with butterfly opening can't wait.
I am not only well informed by your shaves but incredible enough , I am somehow comforted from the flower opening sequence to the banter , to the review and the menu ! Thanks for sharing your quiet time Sir!
That's nice to know, many thanks :-)
I love the shaves I get with my Q-Shave (the other clone). My matt finish goes the length of the razor. I've been testing blades and Journaling my shave adventures in Badger & Blade and the Q-Shave is one I use in my rotation of razors for testing blades.
The wife has been hounding about what i want for Christmas so I handed her a two-page list of different razors soaps and brushes she will never understand that I will never have enough shaving supplies until I have them all
Exactly, you can never have enough shaving supplies Michael....Christmas list is a good idea, we do that too :-)
oh i have the same problem haha
My MingShi finally arrived and had a test drive this morning, what a fantastic piece of kit!. Also tried a cold water shave with green proraso all round, I love this beast, started on setting 2 but ended up on setting 4 which seemed to be the sweet spot for me.
Fantastic, glad you enjoy it, and hope you have many more great shaves ahead Craig.

What does the adjustments do?
@@legendeagle6211 changes how much the edge of the blade protrudes which changes how smooth or aggressive the razor feels and shaved 💩
Damn got this thing just abt 3 euro 💀
I've recently bought the Merkur Futur and am so impressed with it, it will be my only razor for the rest of my life. Great vids btw :)
Yeah right
Same here, love the Futur a lot. Works great, feels great and shaves excelent.
What a lovely Shaving Altar on background ;)
I've got Ming Shi with a plastic travel box. The case is good, but have one disadvantage - Feather blades in plastic case does not fit in Ming Shi box.
Great comparison Paul enjoyed the video. Wonderful arrangement of flowers hats off to Mrs. H. See you Wednesday.
Many thanks John....all the best....Paul.
Gorgeous flowers. Love the colors. Great comparison/review video Paul. 3+1 Futurs, wow...
Thanks, yes I don't need anymore in the Futur...lol.
Hi Paul . Thank you Mrs H . Nice side by side shave Paul . Gray dog makes some gorgeous brushed . Very nice shave . Have a wonderful day Paul , and fantastic week . Thank you
Thanks Michael, yes he makes great brushes, very gifted chap and kind with it too....all the best, hope you have a great week too....Paul.

Thanks for the review. I have just bought Ming Shi 2000s and I'm loving from the look of it.
I just bought the Ming Shi through Ali. I am growing fond of aggressive razors. Thank you for doing this video comparison!
Thanks Paul, great shave. Have a good week. All the best Nick
You too Nick, thanks.
I have the q-shaver (same unit). I agree, itt works very well.
Good razors aren't they....thanks.

Great shave, fantastic comparison video of the Merkur Futur and the Ming Shi. Well done sir! 👍🙂👍
Many thanks, hope you have a good week ahead....Paul.
If your thinking of buying a Futur in the future, buy a Ming Shi in the future lol! Great shave as always Paul!
Hi Paul. Can't beat TOBS for quality and scent, always a favorite. Interesting comparison, the Future brought the color.. the clone seemed ready. Thanks Mrs H for another stunning display, and for you sharing with us..
Great shaving cream isn't it.....thanks very much and all the best......Paul.
Thanks very much for sharing the video, Paul.
I purchased a Futur clone called the QShave for $15 (11GBP). That was money well spent.
In my experience, the razor provides a great shave.
Kudos once again to Mrs. H for the beautiful flowers!
Thank you, nice razor isn't it, very much worth the money....all the best....Paul.
I used Crabtree & Evelyn sandalwood shave soap for decades. They don't make it anymore, so I'm discovering other options.
4! Your futur is so bright, you have to wear shades!
Great consumer review.
It's a good razor isn't it, that is good service from Maggards fair play.....all the best and thanks.....Paul.
Today is a real holiday. Firstly, you will compare two popular razors. Secondly, a beautiful bouquet with different colors in video. And of course your cheerful humor.)

Interesting video about the production of the сhinese manufacturer Baili:

Excellent looking razor. I love the Futur and would buy a Ming Shi. That brush is a beautiful thing to giveaway. Someone will be honored to win that. Great Shave Paul and gorgeous flowers Mrs. H!! Best wishes to you
Thank you Darin, yes very pleased with it, always worry about clones being cheap and nasty things....but no good job on this one....hope someone will enjoy the brush yes, all the best to you too......Paul.
Darin Glisson the Q Shaves is better than ming shi and the same price check it out thumbs up
Great shave and comparison Paul. Cheers!
Thanks Duane.....all the best....Paul.
they have a new one out with a fancy handle and shiny plating, pretty much same head though
I love that shave cream you would never get sick of it it's one of the best
It is a very good shaving cream isn't it....the scent is one of my favourites....thanks Michael.
Happy Sunday Paul! Mrs. H has out done herself yet again with those flowers. Stunning. Oh, yes...I've succumb. I have a package from Above the Tie coming with a cooper Windsor razor.
Will try that, many thanks :-)
Great review, i like you're sense of humor and energy you put in the video's.
Thank you very much....all the best....Paul.
Also, thats a big brush but bet it will work great
Thanks Thomas, hope the video helps people a bit...yes great huge brush..lol can't wait to try it..all the best...Paul.
Thank you, yes it is a great razor for the price too....amazing.....TOBS was nice...all the best....Paul.
*Ahhhhhh. Some NCS for the intro music.*
*Excellent choice Paul.*
Yes, a godsend when it comes to copyright free music :-)
I enjoyed the comparison. It’s funny how scents are so personal preference. This was my 1st TOB since I have a sensitive neck I figured it would be amazing. I didn’t like the scent and found the lather thin and weak like is seems you got here. I didn’t find it slick & left my face very dry. I was going to try it one more time & give it away. I have a Futur & dig the black look the clones come in. I’ll grab one of these mingshi as my road trip/travel razor. For $18 USD on eBay hard to beat!
Hi. Paul. Greetings from Miami, Florida in USA. Great video. Very informative!. Excellent comparison between the two razors. Great job
I've had the ming shi for a couple of months now but haven't used it. I'm going to use it tomorrow morning now. I bought it and put it aside and forgot about it. :)
I enjoyed it, and really like the finish on mine too....hope you enjoy your shave Dan....all the best....Paul.
Great shave as always Paul and them flowers are beaut tell Mrs H 👍
Ive been fancying a merkur futur for a while now but at the moment cannot justify paying so much for it, so instead i just ordered myself a ming shi and i will see it as a tester whether or not i will buy a futur in the future 😁 cheers for the great video, all the best,
Ashley.
Thank you Ashley, hope you enjoy the Ming Shi, very much worth the money.....all the best....Paul.
Hy, i have for one year the Progress, and now the ming shi got to my hand, and i use it on seting one, like the progress, and its very good, i am glad that now i have the 'Future' too :) Thanks for the confidence for the chinese product! It feels very good quality.
That's great, many thanks :-)
That's great, I hope he enjoys it and has a great Birthday...all the best Mark and thanks.....Paul.
Nacet blades are excellent, Russian made Gillettes. Will have to get my hands on one of those Ming Shi's they look great.
Look forward to trying them blades....all the best and thanks.
Good video Paul ,
Taylor of old town soap is my #1 soap of all time and I have tried a few soaps in my time and the future is my #2 razor out of #5 in that order lol
Keep up the good work on the videos maybe do some more Taylor of old town soap reviews so some of your other Watchers can see how good TOBS soap really is.
Thank you
Wade
Great shave Paul. Is the Ming the same as the Qshave? I have just been sent a Qshave.
Another great video. Enjoy your Sunday. Looking forward to Wednesday's video in the futur or should that be the future?
Thank you Paul, Futur or Future, I can never decide either...lol.....all the best....Paul.
Take care, Ossie
Thank you!
Yes it's the same razor, so hope you enjoy it Ossie, a good razor for the cost of it....all the best....Paul.
A great review and comparison Paul. The Ming Shi seems very good for the money. The best of health to you too bud. Thanks.
Thanks Brian, you too mate.
Thank you very much, hope your shaves go well too.....great razor isn't it.....all the best.....Paul.
Hi Paul, Again, you did a great video. have a good day and see you on mid week.
Thank you very much, you too have a great day....all the best....Paul.
I bought the Ming Shi for £4.99 from Aliexpress & consider it one of my best razors.
Can't beat it at that price can you.
Thank you Kieran, hope you have a nice time in Ireland, wonderful part of the world, and the people are great too, all the best....Paul.
I'm so happy you are doing this comparison. I have the Q-shave futur clone and love it. I'm even getting one engraved lol. I hope the Chinese make more clones like this.
Nice to have it engraved, nice touch that....all the best...and thanks....Paul.
Great review Paul, I just ordered mine after watching your review and can't wait to try it out. :D
Paul have you got your T-shirt on backwards, noticed the logo on your back right shoulder lol, the Ming shi for the price is a dam good razor, gives me good shaves all the time.
I hope not...lol...not the first time if I did...all the best Paul....thanks.
Great Video As Always Paul, Cheers Mate, Dan!
Thanks Dan...all the best....Paul.
Lol glad there is someone else who bought that knock off future and I did not mind it so glad I'm in the club with you Paul it's a big club I think
Cheers
Yes it is a good razor, and when you look at the price...wow...have a great week Steve and thanks.....Paul.
Great shave Paul, if you just shaved with the Ming Shi without the Merkur to compare to,do you think you could tell i difference. A very nice brush to give away. A excellent chanel keep up the good work.
I can tell it is slighty lighter in weight yes, but the shave is very much the same Paul....all the best and thanks....PaulH :-)
Ty H
Thank you, yes great razors aren't they, nice brushes yes, I will throw it across, hope you can catch ..lol....all the best....Paul.
I'd love to see a video on setting 12 😁 I darent try it
Thanks Richard, yes I have heard of it, never used it like that though, you never know in future :-).... all the best....Paul.
Are you saying my first shave with the Mind Shi might not have been on 3 but 9 ? no wonder l got some nicks :D
I have been using the clone since July, its a fantastic razor, close to being my top razor and I have more than 30 razors to choose from, would love a gold version.
Great vid as always paul
gold, lets hope they do one!
Interesting shave paul cool stuff👍✌😎
Thanks JB
Hey paul great sunday shave i have the ming si 2000s i have used it once i should go back and use it again i think i will. Have a great weekend look foward to the mid week shave
Thanks Joshua, hope you have a good shave with it when you use it again.....all the best ...Paul.
I love the much happier flower music!
we need a " AA " kinda thing for wet shavers " DE or Straight " that is products takes over the whole apartment space lol
Very true :-)...lol.
Excellent comparison!
Thanks Peter.
Omg that boar brush is killer!! I'm obsessed with my boar brushes :P they're awesome
It is, great for big hands or working hands as it's intention was by Graydog.....looking forward to trying it....all the best....Paul.
PaulHFilms I just got a 30mm boar (whipped dog knot) and put it into a rubberset handle. Looks and feels amazing 😋 take care Paul. Sorry I'm lacking in commenting. But I've watched every video mate
That sounds great, no worries with comments, I fully understand, same for me really, I need 30 hour days...lol.
Wonder if the ming Shi is same as the q shave and other knock offs
Completely awesome video Paul. Fantastic products and very informative. TOBS Jermyn Street is also one of my Favorites. Take care my friend. SHAVE ON!!!!
Thanks Kirk, all the best to you.....Paul.
Very nice video and I love your personality :)
Thank you.
Think I`d go with a qshave one, this one looks like the head is from another razor, BIG gap there :o
Scratches on it too
It goes to show you. Don't knock it till you try it!👍
Very true :-)
great video. i own the edwin de89 and ming and prefer the ming.
do you mind trying the cold water method to break in the new boar of yours? i have seen a few videos on it and am curious what you think about it.
Two good razors, yes I can try that method, when I use it.
i mean to keep in refrigerator for 2 days in cold water to break it in.
Just started on Euromax blades ,WOW. good .
Thanks Paul you have answered my question a Ming ship for me, then may be a futur for christmas
Great shave as usual. :-) I think Alibaba is a b2b seller and Aliexpress is for customers. Too tempting site by the way .. better keep away. 💰
Ah right, yes very tempting site...lol. :-)
Since I have a Ming Shi and you recommend it; I am Shaving in the Big Leagues now....woohooo :D
Lol....your at the top of the tree :-).... have a great week.
I have a Ming Shi as well as a QShave, which is the same razor. They are great razors. I don't own a Futur, but I've read that its handle is thicker which probably accounts for most of the weight difference. I thought getting under the nose would be a problem, but it's fine.
Yes it is a good razor isn't it, and the under nose works fine for me too.....all the best and thanks Mark.....Paul.
Min shi 3000s is also good please review it sir.
Sorry Paul if I am annoying you with my question, but if you have to choose between QShave and Ming Shi which one you preferred?
No problem Richard, however , I don't own a QShave so can't answer sorry....but the Ming Shi is fantastic.
What's your favourite razor Paul,I bought a merkur 33c but thought it was crap, the Parker 60r done a far better job, good video mate, well done
I really enjoy the Gillette Slim Adjustable (vintage) , many thanks :-)
The Ming is tempting and I am glad you did the review. I just have this uncomfortable feeling about purchasing the clone when the original is still made. If I buy the Ming I know, like it or hate it, I'll then have to have the Futur. Buy the Merkur, curiosity will insist on trying the knock off.
On second thought, I don't think your review was helpful at all.
All the best my friend.
Thanks Dennis, I know what you mean, it could lead to buying the two in the end....lol....all the best.....Paul.
I love that Nivea post shave balm.
Great isn't it John...thanks.
such a joy from a shave ;)
Thanks
Paul, you are a legend - thank you
the mings head was crooked.
The road to a second morgage...lol...many thanks :-)
I have both razors and lean to the Ming Shi. Mostly because I like the lighter weight of the 2. Also, I beleive the head is a tad thinner which helps for under the nose. The Ming Shi is the best value in the razor world right now. You want a R41 like shave crank it up to 6. You want a smooth Tech like shave dial it down. Over all the best valued adjustable razor in my book. Enjoyed the video.
Yes it's a good razor, and does the job well, at a good price....thanks and all the best...Paul.
Hello Paul. I would like to know, is it worth it to buy the Merkur Futur when I already have the EJ Chatsworth Barley ? Cheers from Romania
Hello , I don't own a Chatworth Barley, but I should think the Merkur Futur will be much more aggressive, so depends what you want out of the razor......thanks :-)
Thank you sir. Have a great week, looking forward for the Wednesday Shave. You take care.
Hello Iain, yes my Ming Shi still shaves like new, I don't use it regular so we will see as time goes on.....hope you enjoy your new razor :-)
Hey there, wondering how you liked the Viking butterfly adjustable razor?
