    Thank you very much !!!
    I didn't watch the entire video and I should have !!! Because the person that told me about this video explained that when the A/C is turned on and blowing warm air, you can actually test the sensor by placing a magnet on it. If the sensor is the reason your A/C is not working, start your car and turn on the A/C, then place a magnet on the sensor and wait a few seconds and the A/C will start working !! I tested it 5 times and it worked every time. I am getting my mechanic to try to switch the sensor on Sunday because I just can't do it without pulling the compressor, my circlip tool won't fit in the holes of the circlip on the sensor. But at least I can turn my A/C on any time I want using my telescopic magnet until then.
    Thanks again for this video.
    You solved a problem that I paid a Toyota dealership $169.00 to misdiagnose (they told me "all signs point to the Amplifier" which they wanted $1800cdn for).
    It was the A/C Flow Sensor all along. Those Toyota technicians really should know about this.
    Please keep up the great work !!

Couldn't tape it on with Kapton tape (heat resistant up to 400 degrees) cause the tape wouldn't stick, too dirty under my hood..... got to clean it. LOL !! Gonna see if it stays until I get the sensor swapped. !! Keep up the great videos!! I'll be waiting.

      @@donttrip7656 I can't post a photo here or I would. The top of the sensor is circular. Shine a light down and on the front of the compressor and you will see the top of the sensor. I just looked at photos of the compressor and the sensor so I knew what to look for, then I put the magnet right on top of the sensor wherever it would stick and wherever it would be right on top of the round part of the sensor (you can't get it exactly on top because the sensor has a ridge in the middle. Just do the best you can). As long as the magnet is sticking to the top of the sensor it will be ok. Then start your car and wait a moment or two, then turn on the A/C. After a few seconds the A/C compressor should turn on. My magnet is still in place a couple of years later (amazing) and my AC still works great (the new sensor is at the bottom of my glovebox because it's too tight to replace the sensor from the top. I have to take the passenger front tire off, then remove the wheel-well plastic cover, then remove the AC compressor, then put everything back together again. Too much work for AC that works fine. lol !!!)

    Are you able to help me diagnose a problem with my blower motor resistor that keeps burning out on my 2005 Scion TC? Replaced blower motor twice, confirmed it's working great. Replaced 3 resistors, and now the 4th blew out. No idea where to go from here. 4th resistor was working fine for 3 months, then it would only work on the high setting (no matter where the control was, on level 1 speed or level 5 speed, it was always blowing at level 5 when it was on). It was working fine, then one day it started turning on and off by itself (while the blower was in the ON position), and then it just blew out. It won't turn on now. No idea why resistors keep burning out on this thing

    I had a Canadian Toyota shop check my 2013 tC. Sometimes it blows cold, but the rest of the time...warm air. Over 5 hours in the shop - Compressor fine, they emptied and recharged the system with dye, no leaks and all ok. Did a bunch of other tests. Everything fine. Mechanic is scratching his head. Cost me $170.00 to be told it MIGHT be the A/C Amplifier. Want to charge me $1880.00 plus labor but can't guarantee it will work. I found 7 from USA Toyota shops for under $400. I found an amplifier from someone parting out a 2014 Scion tC and I'm going to try it when it arrives. If that doesn't work I'll try the Flow Sensor like you did. Thanks.

    A little trick with a magnet is mentioned here. I bought some 15mm x 5mm round magnets from Amazon and I placed one on top of the sensor. It sticks there but I didn't know how well, but after driving around doing some shopping with my wife, it is staying right where I put it and it's holding strong. So now I can turn my A/C on and off at will, until I can replace my sensor. I tried to do it with the compressor on the car but it's too difficult, there is no room to work and it's been impossible to get the circlip out because of the angle. So I have to get my Freon vacuumed and take out the compressor to replace the sensor, then go back and have my Freon refilled. Got a shop that will vacuum and refill it for $100cdn. Better than who knows how much at Toyota, who couldn't even figure this out. I can't thank "G Auto Repair" enough for this video. I really can't. Please keep putting up videos like this. You really are helping a lot of people.

      Could you please tell where to place the magnet exactly?

    • @jameshydra1031
      @jameshydra1031 2 роки тому

      @@Lendwithtj I can't post a photo here or I would, but the sensor gets locked on to the compressor with a circlip (circle-clip). The top of the sensor that is held in place with the circlip is circular. I just put the magnet right on top of the sensor wherever it would stick and wherever it would be right on top of the round part of the sensor (you can't get it exactly on top because the sensor has a ridge in the middle. Just do the best you can). As long as the magnet is sticking to the top of the sensor it will be ok. Then start your car and wait a moment or two, then turn on the A/C. After a few seconds the A/C compressor should turn on. My magnet is still in place after running around shopping today, and this evening I went up highway 400 for more shopping, and after hitting all kinds of bumps, and cruising at 140kph, it is still holding in place and allowing my A/C to work whenever I turn it on. The magnet has to be a strong one though, one of those strong rare earth magnets. But this is just a temporary fix, I have no idea how long it will work. You have to replace the sensor to fix it properly. Good luck!!

      6 days later and the magnet is still there and my A/C works great.

    • @jameshydra1031
      @jameshydra1031 Рік тому +2

      A month later and the magnet is still holding strong. I have the new sensor, but it'll cost me $100cdn to vacuum and refill my A/C, then it'll take me a couple of hours at least to replace the sensor myself (I'm not a mechanic and have never removed and replaced an A/C compressor before, but I am really good with my hands and I believe I can do the job. It'll just take me longer than a mechanic would), so I haven't done the job yet. The A/C is working so it's not a priority. And don't believe anyone that says it can be replaced on the car. You need the hands and arms of a very small child to replace this sensor without removing the compressor. I tried for hours and couldn't do it. But thanks again for the idea of using the magnet to test the sensor and have the A/C working temporarily!!

      @@jameshydra1031 I had this problem with my 2014 scion tC back in 2021. I had placed the magnet and it was working fine until this week May 2023. I thought to myself great now its the time to replace the sensor i guess. but no! i took a look at the magnet and noticed it was dirty with some other metal stuck to it (possibly brake dust). I took it out cleaned it and put it back on and the AC is back to working again. So if your ac stops working just take out the magnet clean it and place it back on before you decide to replace it.

    My 2010 Corolla LE with 126k, has an AC issue. Turn on the AC on a hot summer day even all the way on high setting and it blows warm air for five minutes. After five minutes i can feel the cool air starting to blow. My mechanic replaced the AC refregeriant but doesn't resolve the issue with the delayed cooling. So I looked up the Dorman flow sensor 926818 and it's not compatible with the 2010 Corolla. I searched and there doesn't seem to be a flow sensor for the 2010 Corolla. Any suggestions?
