Best teddy video ever. Not over produced, overly slick. Real an raw and fun as heck. I can’t watch teddy the past couple of years because of the thin veneer of trying to be a polished UA-camr. This video was authentic. And I literally laughed a few times in between the fascinating watch talk.

Awesome interview! What I took away from this is Archie's really in depth and extensive knowledge of watches and watch collecting, and his genuine love for watches and the whole watch collecting hobby.

Whether you agree with him and his views or not, doesn't change the fact that Archie is no charade, no bullshit, just speaks his mind. I feel like you don't know what down to earth means. He believes that people aren't poor if they live in the "Western World" which is the most disconnected from reality thing I have ever heard from a youtuber who deasl with watches.
@@sublimer2091 He didn't say that. Of course there are poor people everywhere. But for the vast majority of people in a western country, it is indeed possible to save up an equivalent of $3000 and buy a watch for that money.
I go between hating and loving this man, but with his comments around the whole joke that is Archie Luxury I now get a much deeper appreciation for his shtick and must admit he is a shrewd genius. He is base, crass, and sometimes downright nasty, but he knows what he is doing.
I felt the same way. When he shared his schtick I really was taken back by it. I underestimated him. Thanks for watching, Mike.

Seiko watches are of good quality. Just don't expect market value when you want to sell it. The point here is what is your purpose for collecting timepiece. Me, I'll just simply wear and keep it. I agree with him, hold out for a decent watch, I'm doing that right now. I also agree with him that if you are a Westerner, it's much easier compared to how expensive it is to other countries such as mine, the Philippines.
Squale is one of those brands you recommend to people who you don't like.

Same here. I thought there's no way I can handle an hour of Archie, not that I dislike him but I only like him in small doses. This was great and I love his sense of humour, especially when he's relatively calm. Smart guy too.
When you talk to him as Paul he really has a ton of watch knowledge. I have been collecting and flipping for over 20 years, and he still impresses me with his knowledge.
His honesty is so refreshing. Down to earth with good intentions in a lot of things. Also an amazing watch collection too

Great video. Archie is a complicated character and you were able to draw parts of him out that many newer viewers have not seen. Archie deeply cares about watches, has great knowledge about them and has a passion that many other You Tube ”watch personalities” are lacking. The interview itself is classic Gen X’er v Millennial.

The best interview ever! Archie might be controversial but he's really knowledgeable about watches and on a lot of things he has a good perspective. I think that a lot of people disrespect him due to his bad language and private life details but talking about watches he is one of the most knowledgeable UA-camrs for sure.

Archie can be crass and at times too much for me, but in full candor he was the one that got me into watches. I had a passing interest and found most online reviews boring and unoriginal. Archie made me laugh and sometimes cringe...borderline uncomfortable, but he does have some quality content and is very knowledgeable. Your interview was great and I love that he opened up. Those that have only seen his crazy stuff will have seen a different Archie. Congrats on your channel as well. I’m a subscriber to four or five watch channels and do enjoy your interviews and reviews. Best of luck to you!

This was one hell of an interview, bravo. Squale is definitely shit. I fell prey to it. Thankfully I made a decent trade on a Planet Ocean 8900 (which I cherish) and didn't getting completely screwed. Still lost about $300. TGV is a shill.
ooooh yeah he's the hugest damned shill out there... for him it makes perfect sense to buy a squale or any other shitter as his bread and butter is reviewing a wide range of shitters... but he needs a big DO NOT BUY warning on most of his videos...
don't get me wrong no problem with buying a squale if you only want one watch and don't care about value retention, it will certainly do the job
Alien Hatz He did introduce me to Marathon. My GSAR is still one of my favorite watches. They may be overpriced, but I will never sell it and it is one of the best beater tool watches out there with an actual history and military track record. Otherwise, TGV should be tar and feathered, or burned at the stake.

Hard to say a brand like Hamilton doesn’t give you amazing history and value for money. I don’t know about their resale value at all, but I also see his point about saving for what you really want long term. Depends on how you view the watch you’re buying I suppose

In many ways, I think Archie is a good person at heart, and he's more honest than TGV.

TGV was the main reason why many people got into the hobby, including myself. Regardless if that accusation is true or not, he still plays a huge role in many people's journey in the hobby.

@@Baxham1 If you watched any of his videos or followed him at all, you know he's a big proponent of Squale. I bought of a bunch of their watches because of his videos, and it was a huge waste of my money. It really misled me as a first time watch hobbyist. I learned a lot by making these mistakes and fortunately I was able to sell them. The guy he deals with personally in NY is also extremely shady and sketchy. I don't need to justify anything to you. You can follow him, watch him, and spend all of your money and find out yourself lol. I don't care. I was able to get some of my money back and buy beautiful speedmasters, and now I'm very happy.

I'm an older guy and I have always been disgusted and disappointed with my generation's subjective, narcissistic views and undisciplined use of facts, created history and B.S. based on broad rash unsupported generalities for making a point that really should not be part of an adult's mindset. That being said from my self produced soapbox I adore your videos that are really informative and not based on a materialistic subjective base but more of a value approach.
