    We have pretty much the same routine; just slightly different products. I might try the scalp oil. My hypothesis is that it helps lubricate the strand as it grows from the scalp. 🤷🏽‍♀️

    Sis how do you deal with single strand knots and split ends. Cause Lord knows I wanna wear my hair curly everyday

    • @minimalassembly7893
      @minimalassembly7893 7 років тому +36

      Speaking for myself. When my hair is well moisturized and set in it's natural curl with a gel or thick styling cream, I don't get single strand knots. If my hair doesn't feel slippery like seaweed when styling or if my hair is not clumping into its natural pattern, then I get knots. Sometimes preventing knots involves switching to different products or changing technique: applying a second application of product when hair is air drying, applying products on damp hair, minimizing detangling tool use, , applying products warmed up or sealing with cold water and a smoothing oil. After trying a bunch of new products this year, I realized the above and now use just a thick hair milk + Argan oil. No leave-in , no gel. I also use detangling tools infrequently and smooth like she demonstrated in the video, to keep my hair in its natural clumps. My hair is finally acting right and I have no knots.

    • @Jayariee

      yourmorningtea Honestly stretched hair and hair placed in twists/braids tends to have less ssn. Curly hair when worn loose and free tends to have experience more friction and rubbing with the environment (even the air) so it's more likely to curl around itself. I think it's obvious why stretched is better in this case, for most people the hair tends to move along each other and the air less. For why braids and twists reduce ssn imagine a rope, it's stronger and moves less when the strands are intertwined rather than when they are free. It's also more likely the smaller strands compromising it forms knots when free than the entire rope because it's more dense. Pineappling your hair, leaving your hair out or wearing a loose Bonnet at night also causes ssn because again, your hair is free to rub and move and get entangled. So scarfs and tighter bonnets (or scarfs with a loose bonnet over it) or pinning/braiding hair down are alternatives. And lastly (i know this is alot) weighing down your hair by using butters and creams

      The correct answer would be to get a proper trim. I promise the knots with fade completely.
