Thanks again for having me out! Had a great time
excellent build buddy! what an epic afternoon !
For what it's worth you got a new subscriber!
My grandad possibly built that mini when it was in the factory and he would approve of this
Too cool man you've done well.
What a mint project 👍 love that sound of the turbo, well just that engine! 👌💚💛❤️
I think the fifth wheel with a camper for his family would be great
It needs to be able to tow something or it’s a waste of a Cummins.
Tows his body around!
@@winstonholmes5566I’d say having one on display without a front clip is worthy
Back in the day they made a fifth wheel camper for a vw bug had a ball hitch across the top, the bug could actually spin around and push the trailer.
That is just crazy. I love the off the wall thinking. It takes a lot of dedication to finish a project like that. there are millions of half done cars in garages all across the U.S. but you put your head down and got it done and now you have a head turner that you can drive. Awesome job Robbie.
What a great video, this has to be in my opinion the coolest guest vehicle you ever had on the channel, and it being a family and friends involved build was the icing on the cake and his wife won't let him sell it, awesome 👍
I definitely agree!
I love the classic minis and this is just awesome. I've got an 05 convertible. If I won the lottery, I'm not gonna tell anyone, but there will be signs. And a cummins swapped Mini would be one of them.
I passed this thing near Mount Forest a few weeks ago. What a unit
I smiled the entire time I watched this😄. Great build.
The family and friends involvement is so wholesome. Cool rig fella great work.
Dude, 5th wheel hitch on the roof was actually the first thing I thought of when I saw this! 😂 I for one would _love_ to see a mini hauling around trailer with trucks on it
This just makes me think of that guy in a rat rod at a red light and the showroom floor Mini next to him with a "live's too short to drive a boring car" sticker. 😂
Awesome build👍. I think you could easily put a gooseneck on the roof. Surely wouldn't have problems with jackknifing. 😂
Way back when the Bug had a roof-top ball or something for pulling a camper. There are videos of it.
Great job!
Thanks for having it on your channel Rich.
It definitely needs a 5th wheel to tow stuff.
Its fantastic!!
There was a limited production (or maybe conversion) of VW Beetles that had a 5th hitch on top of the car and a camper. The car could turn 360°. So, could be done!
@@Cantthinkofahandle117 yeah I've seen them. That's my mates plan for his bug. They're so cool
The way rich giggles like a little kid the whole time is awesome! What a cool build. Hoping I can get something soon and make something happen.
Mini guy here. Great build! The car is all about having fun.
just saw the car at the Cobble beach Concours de Lemons. So cool! Thanks for brining it out.
Sweet, every time I see something like this it reminds me I will need to do something with my 12v 5.9 Cummins cause the Ram body is rusting off the truck. My truck also has the HD package with 5 speed and 4.10 gears so its a beast in need of a body to match .
This car won a award at the Concours' de Elegance in 2023 at the Cobble Beach Show in Owen Sound Ontario Canada!
I won 3 awards at that show
RIP Ed Roth. The torch has been passed.
Totally our cup of tea! Super cool!! Check out the 49 Ford body swapped BMW we built!!
Only a true basket case car guy would be happy to hear "this is the worst road car I've driven". That thing is super cool.
Of course it's the worse when your over 6' and barly fit ahaha but for short guys like me it's a blast to drive
I meant worst for me fitting in it. I loved it, just was the most uncomfortable for me.
@@DEBOSSGARAGE i know, just funny to hear.
Great ride! Big Cummins guy in training here, DeBoss looked 7' tall getting in that mini!😂
Rich's laughter is like Dr. Frankenstein,
being shown how to make the Invisible Man shoot. lol!
Pure Joy!
Oh! Who did all the stickers? lol!
Me and the wife did the stickers, lost track of how many hours to peel and stick them all
@@Bobsratshop
I just thought what a great ideal.
Thank you.
What a monstrosity... I love it.
😂 I wanna hate it but it seems like it would just love that more..
This is one of a kind. I’d almost do something similar but I might do a smaller engine, like the 4BT or the R2.8.
I thought the same about a 4bt as soon as I saw it
10:56 'You wanted to keep it as original as possible?'!! That gave me a laugh!
What a wild range of viewer rides you get Rich. Love it!
Pretty epic! My 9yo son is obsessed with Mini's so anytime I find something new I show him.. I'm sure when his older he will come up with his own crazy mini contraption.. although in Australia this wouldn't be allowed on the roads
What a great idea...the 5th wheel...prob have to make it dually? Idk...good idea though
The comment about the knees above the window sill is a classic!
Btw what ever camera you use has really good audio👍
That turbo wissle is crazy!
Great build 👏, thanks for sharing 👍🏻 love that it's a manual trans ! YES ! ❤️ the fith-wheel 💡 idea, with an R.V. on the back, as big as the brakes can handle 👌🏻 .
👍🏻✌🏻 🍁- Ontario 🇨🇦.
Most 5th wheel campers also have electric brakes these days. So that would help too.
😎👍🇺🇲
Definitely the most unusual Mini build I've seen.
I guess if you're going outside of the box. Might as well go as far as you can.
I have a 71 Mini S.
Was told it belonged to Sig Handson of the Deadliest Catch show but I haven't been able to confirm it yet.
More or less a resto'mod project.
Cheers from Seattle WA area 🤘
the engine weighs about the same as that mini did when it rolled off the assembly line, its absolutely wild
Roof mount fifth wheel is a must..
You can tell this is a winner, with Riche having a smile from ear to ear, constantly that says it all. make it into a fifth wheel hell ya, hauling a camper, perfect idea. who can resist that?
I was subbed to this channel on my old device, maybe 5 or 6 years ago? From memory less than 20k subs.. haven't watched since the yard truck/snow plow episode. The production skills and even presenting has definitely leveled up.
Apareces con este mini engendro en España y te cae cadena perpetua. Buen trabajo 👍
This is the craziest build I have ever seen!
I like it!!!
Sick as build
That’s pretty wild!👍😎
I’d go with a gooseneck vs a 5th wheel. That way you can still keep that sick roof rack on top and the ball and chain hooks would be recessed down under the wood slats
Now that's what were talking about. Way to go Robbie, super cool rig. If she's that tough, I'd say fifth wheel it with something vintage
Thank you for the great content and education !
A big salute from Azores,
Portugal
that is awesome! a 5th wheel camper/ flatbed would finish it off nice
Looks like you boys need to hit up Finnigan and cletus for a road trip.
The Coolest Build yet!
one of the coolest cars ever.and go for the 5th wheel, but you have to come back on and show it
I guess it is the built that did make you smile and laughing the most😄🙌🙌🙌
There was a fifth wheel set up that was used on the VW bug in the 60s, very rare. There is a video of it some place on UA-cam.
That thing is absolutely ridiculous, and I love it.
Really enjoying this series. Just watched the Gold '73 video and couldn't help but come over to this one.
You can buy whole bodyshells for minis, so I don’t get why anyone would get mad unless they were after the vin number and title from the shell.
There a site in the uk called Ruined Minis ,a definite contender !
I'm honestly surprised this is still legal in Canada, I'm happy, but surprised!
depends which cop pulls you over
Sick build. Hard to go wrong with a Cummins, and that's so damn unique it's great. Love the open downpipe. Fifth wheel setup would be money!👍 Should do up the camper to match the car. That would be so cool, and definitely will give you more attention, not that it doesn't break necks already lmao 😂 Of course Rich had to get his Timmy's!!! LOL 😆 Thank you for sharing this awesome build! 👍
5th wheel to haul 1 or 2 autos. Then build an RV to retro fit in place of 1auto while still having room to haul 1 auto behind the RV. When you need the full 5th wheel flat bed the RV can be removed. Same build principal as a slide in for pickup trucks
I first thought it was dumb, but after seeing Rich's giant smile the whole time, I figured it can't be that bad, lol, awesome video guys, and thanks for sharing.
Incredibly awesome build!!
Like taken straight out of a wet dream for me! :D Awesomesauce!!
I have a Classic Mini with a V-Tec Honda 5spd.............this is fecking awesome.
This is such a ridiculous car. With the engine outside the body, it's like Honda Ruckus but a car and with a diesel. Love it so much.
Fifth wheel trailer with a 60s-70s slide in type 12' camper, with a 18' flatbed behind it. The type of camper that has a sleeper that hung over a pickup cab. You could haul bikes or a car on the flatbed.
6:25 You're in the office baby. Going up
You could buy a new vette and not smile and laugh like this! Awesome machine
The oil pan was the best part! Talk about getting it to fit.
So awesome. What a winner. 🧡
LOVE the gauges! I worked in design and build projects at Water Plants for bout 2 years and collected a good number of liquid filled fancy Gauges. I really wanted to use up to make steampunk industrial desk lamps. Used a few making potato guns 😂
5th wheel on the roof is a BRILLIANT idea!
5th wheel,
Yah! Baby!
Austin power's style!!!
I like the fact he asked him about the radiator one thing I know about those engines. It takes a long time to heat them up. I’ll try to get one up to temperature how to remove coolant drive it for almost an hour to get it up to temperature
really nice job it works well ....
AWESOME! You guys are my kinda people. 🤣
That thing is cool as hell!!! I’ve got a Scion xB that I wanna convert into a crazy little old school hot rod
Reminds me of the cars you used to see in the old Cartoons magazines and Rich fit the bill for the driver. They were always oversized for the car.
Ive always kinda liked when they make a trailer out of another matching car
No 5th wheel. I’m not a diesel guy, but I Love this thing!
had to look it up, Ontario is one of the provinces that has a law that says you cannot drive with headphones, he might want to keep that in mind.
Great job brother nice ingenuity, I bet it’s the only one like it out there
The trailer Idea is a great idea.
Outstanding!
I built a 47 dodge coupe 24v 5speed this year. Cool build
Check out tinman 2 customs. Luke built a bagged 1931 chevy sedan Cummins powered that pulls a gooseneck trailer with which hauls his 60s bagged lwb c10
just needs duallys
Very cool indeed. I would consider a modified sump (less deep) and sump guard to ensure you don't leave all your oil behind one day?
This is amazing. And I love that you're only 1" shorter than me. Now I know I don't want an Austin mini.
2K Hrs plus he forgot the 500 hrs just thinking about it. lol I like it. Rich is 6'3" but his legs are 5' of that.. lol What a great family he has including that construction company he works for. 5th wheel is a must! lol
The mean streets of Haldimand county, you never know what you'll come across.
i too agree the fifth wheel idea is pretty cool!
hell yeah to the fifth wheel. i live next to grand bend... one day i will hopefully meet you guys and maybe have a beer or 3 lol
Hey Rich, waiting to see the Apache get a 3in diameter driveshaft, the exhaust straightened out, longer shocks on the front, and a proper box floor and interior finished.?
I love the viewer builds.
Kinda crazy how that mini body looks like one of those OLD SCHOOL rat rod tubs
Great mini thanks for sharing the video but I don’t know what’s wrong with people in the US they seem to think every mini is a cooper and that’s not the case
Something you don't see every day for sure. Just when I thought I had seen everything.
Wooww id love to see this here in Australia
That is awesome
decades ago when I lived in Ontario, the Highway Traffic Required that a vehicle MUST have fenders !\
It must have a fan shroud & it MUST have numerous other things. How the Hell does this man get away with these deficiencies ? All that aside, I LOVE IT. I have my 97 Dodge 2500 4X4 with a 12 valve in it. A REAL by God diesel.
Rules are different for a one off vehicle.
Everything about that is awesome.
Well done.
Fifth wheel would be awesome and practical. Go baby go.
The Beetle could mount a camper on the roof with a fifth wheel system, so why not? :) It's awesome!
Awesome ❗
Mini Rat Rod ✌🏻😊
Once I paint my 89 f250 should come check it out in Minnesota sometime got a 12v out of a old international
