Hi Everyone! I’m planning to shoot a ton of different skincare routines. This is a basic, nighttime routine for someone with oily skin. I’ll post one for those with clogged pores next! Let me know what you want to see for other routines! ❤️
Hi, I am confused with the way my skin feel right now. I've never been able to pin point the type of skin I have, it's been combination, somedays oily, specially when it's summer, and recently it's been very dry and dehydrated and I started to notice some flaky skin this morning. Although my nose feels very oily, it flakes. I'm super confused. :(
Try CeraVe products! My skin transformed after switching to their foaming cleanser and AM and PM moisturizers. I'm still oily, that will never change, but my skin looks so much better, and my makeup can control the oil better now.
Loved the shout out for us with oily skin: HIDRATE I'd like to point out that Salycilic acid dissolves sebum and in my opinion, since it's in a wash form, it should be massaged, because it would get into the pores and then be removed with the continuous circular motions along with the sebum.
I feel like everyone assumes that someone with acne has oily skin but this is not always the case. Can you talk more about this and what to do with skin that´s a bit dryer but is acne-prone, especially for people with adult acne?
Kacey Madsen Yes and also for eczema skin, I have seborrhea in the scalp and especially in the hairline around the sides of my face, making my jaw, the high points of my cheeks and forehead very dry, flaky and rough in texture. Even so I have large pores and a very oily t-zone, yet extremely sensitive and reactive skin overall. Would love if these issues could be incorperated in a future video!
I’ve been oily all my life! This is perfect. I have been double cleansing and removing makeup with a cream cleanser to break down the oil and makeup. Thx to you. It has calmed my skin down.
same i get VERY oily throughout the day, i dont wear makeup so idk what to do, its really annoying. 3-4 hours after washing my face in the morning my face is sooo shiny and oily. anyone know what to do? i dont wanna use blotting pads because its just temporary
I love a good double cleanse! I’ve got very oily skin and live in a tropical/humid climate. Never underestimate a good moisturizer, even if you’ve got oily skin. It does wonders to help keep your skin from over compensating and overproducing oil.
I’ve got combination skin and you’ve helped me even out my skin so much and balance out my oils. Also I love your cardigan or your jumper or whatever it is it’s such a gorgeous shade of purple.
I think that the Niod product is super interesting! Superoxide dismutase is an enzyme that basically fights radicals and reactive oxygen species so it should help the cell to fight against oxidative stress, which is the principal cause of cellular aging. I’m not sure if the enzyme on the skin will work the same as it does inside the cell but again very interesting and something to look for.
I have oily to normal skin and the moment I started doing a double cleanse with an oil first my acne has gotten so much better because one i wear makeup often and I wear sunscreen everyday so I need something to break it up and using an oil first has helped .
Yayy am I the only one that has a hard time finding good skincare products for oily skin? This was great! Unfortunately, the moisturizer has A LOT of fragrance which can be super irritating and clog poring so beware!
For the record, it doesn't say "fragrance" in the ingredient list but has a lot of "extracts" that pretty much work on your skin as fragrance EDIT: Susan is right! The extracts do have calming properties and are not fragrance as far as I can tell! It's the essential oils at the bottom of the ingredient list I am worried about. The ingredients are: Eugenol, Citral, Beta-Caryophyllene, Geraniol, and Limonene
Omg products that clog pores is a big no no for oily and combo skin. All of my products are noncomedogenic (doesn't clog pores) and it has helped my skin so much.
I have extremely oily and acne prone skin but ever since I started using the double cleansing method and starting with an oil cleanser before using a foam cleaners, my skin has improve so so much
And I'm guessing she didn't use the cleansing balm and said, "Some people are afraid to use this" because of the polyethylene in it which is apparently a form of plastic.
My oily skin routine has made my life so much easier: Morning: - cleanse only with water - zinc based mineral sunscreen - Maybelline fit me finishing powder (provides a bit of colour & absorbs oil but no coverage) Night: - Face Halo/Makeup Eraser cloth - hydrating balm cleanser - redness hydrating serum for sensitive skin - mid-weight moisturiser
I use micellar water for heavy make up and If have used only sun screen I have washed with shower oil (Eucerin) and always for 2. time La Roche- Posay Effaclar foaming gel.
If you are extremely oily like me, you know you have to use a waterproof mascara because our eye lids are so oily that normal mascara just runs down, so we always have to use a eye makeup remover like the Lancome one to remove our mascara first then we go in with the micelar water 😂 but thank you so much for the video Susan 😊❤️
Susan i learned so much from you about skin care. Everything you say and the way you explain it makes so much sense. You are so professional und very well informed.
I just saw today that Farmacy finally launched Daily Greens and I went straight to the website and bought it. It sounds amazing and looks like it has really good ingredients. I’m excited to try it! As someone that has dehydrated/oily skin, it’s a struggle to find a good moisture that will hydrate my skin without feeling heavy and/or greasy (at least without paying a fortune for it!!). So I really hope this moisture is as soon as it sounds and looks as good as it does on your skin! I love Farmacy and really want to love this moisturizer.
I'm super oily. I wash my face twice, but I use the CeraVe foaming cleanser both times. When you're oily, your natural oils are already lifting everything off of your face by the end of the day so a quick once over with the CeraVe washes off your makeup. Then I wash the second time with my Clarisonic. No toner at night. Next I use Differin, then Hada Labo eye cream, followed by CeraVe PM lotion. My skin looks better now than it ever has. It's hydrated, it's just oily.
Making your skin pink while washing is okay you are just increasing blood flow to the surface by rubbing. Your skin may be irritated if it stays red or stings or burns. It just bothers me when people act like u can’t wipe your skin w a cloth when you def can. Your skin can handle a damp cloth being wiped on the surface! You don’t need to be rough but some pink to the face is good your blood is flowing and bringing oxygen to the skin.
I have oily skin and I always use a very rich moisturizer at night and an oil cleansing balm, it has done wonders for my skin and I don't overproduce oil during the day any more :) For day time I would use a gel moisturizer, and just keep it light in general, but at night I treat my skin like it is dry/normal!
I used to VERY oily skin, but in December 2019 (June 2020 writing this comment) I started using neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer and my face since then, has been really good and sometimes not even oily
I use this as well, do you use the cream based or the water gel one. I'm using the gel one and seeing some improvement but nothing dramatic. My skin is sooo oily
I am using just bioderma micellar water and alverde green tea cream cleanser which in my opinion doesn‘t strip my face. On time to time I use argan and macadamia oil at night and 1-2 times a week I exfoliate my skin with garniere pure active clay or leave it as a mask. I haven‘t find my „non-clogging “ moisturiser yet. Sometimes when I wash I use dove sensitive soap .I prefer 2 or 3 steps routine and keep the things simple because I can’ t find the right combination of products that works for me. My skin is oily and acne prone. Love your videos ❤️❤️
People always get so surprised when I tell them moisturizer breaks me out, but it’s true it does. Not everyone needs moisturizer, a good hydrating serum or essence does the trick for me and does not clog my pores but keeps me balanced and hydrated day and night.
I’ve been using Sharni‘S Retinol Reform for a year ( dry combo skin). It’s awesome!! I think it’s the Lactic Acid that does the trick instead of the retinol. Why is yours yellow in colour and mine white?😳
I bought the farmacy cleansing balm because of you, and I loved it. So mine was over and I had to come back to Brazil for some time, until the quarentine is over at least, and turns out that I did not buy it in United States before I came back, and here they don't sell it, I am so sad :(
Susan your hair is beautiful natural! I know you do whatever works for you hair but I would love to see a curly girl method routine on your hair because I am always looking for great curly hair friendly products.
I think coconut oil is the best eye makeup remover for oily and normal skin , I’ve tried so many things and I’ve stuck with coconut oil for years it leaves no makeup residue , I wipe it off with a cotton round to remove . Try it!
Omg I love this! I’ve been needing an oily skin routine. I find that most people are dry skin. And I would love a morning oily skin routine. I’ve been using the Honest moisturizer because it’s so light. Thanks for this!
thank you for this routine! can’t wait for the clogged pores one! btw, would love it if you could review/talk about all NIOD products. heard so many good things about NIOD but they are soooo pricey. wondering if they’re worth the price tag. thank you!
Susan Yara, please post a video on sensitive acne-prone combination skin. I really want to know what ingredients to look for and also what to look in a serum, should it be retinol or Niacinamide or even something else? How should we build our morning and nighttime skincare routine?
Please do a super sensitive skincare routine!! I struggle so much to find great products with no essential oils or fragrance. Im allergic to citrus peel oils :(
I have oily combo skin. Dermalogic is the skin care that I use (the whole line) Bio Oil for scaring and dark marks and lancome Absolute Premium cream as my moisturizer. I have not found a sunscreen that doesn’t clog my pores or plays nice with my prep work or makeup.
I have always had really oily skin. I’ve never used moisturizers. I wonder if I have dehydrated skin... I’m going to try that moisturizer. Thank you Susan!
I love the videos coming for different skin types and what their routine should look like. I am a college student however and can't afford to spend too much money on some of these products and would appreciate adding some more affordable options. I think something like the niod mist is something I would be really interested in if it were more affordable.
This is a $230 skincare routine (not counting taxes or shipping) in case anyone's curious! You could try the Ordinary Retinol at 1% in Squalane which brings your total down to $125. Thanks for sharing Susan!
If your have sensitive skin I wouldn’t recommend to used a salicylic acid product and then use on top any kind of retinoids, that’s calling for irritation, probably used a regular cleanser and the next morning use the salicylic acid one.
I always have oily skin and I've kinda just become reconciled with it. If I dry out my skin, it takes revenge and becomes extra oily. If I hydrate and moisturize well, it forms an extra layer of oil on top. While taking care of my skin properly and using actives helps a lot, I'm still an oil-face. The only thing that's changed is that I barely get breakouts anymore thanks to my routine. My last straw is going to be tretinoin, but even if that turns out to be useless, while I'm still trying my best, I've come to terms with the shortcomings of my predispositions.
I've been waiting for an oily skin video! My skin is so oily, but also very sensitive and has rosacea 🤷♀️ I know Susan was likely very gentle with her skin during her first cleanse, but if I even did that much I'd look like a beetroot. I had a really bad experience with glycolic, so now I'm too scared to try another peel or retinol :(
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO. Ive had this video saved in 'Watch Later' videos ever since since it came out. From watching your other videos it seems to me u kno wut it talking about. Soon as I get a chance I'm going out to buy All of these products💚💜💙💚🖤💖 Again, Thank You❣
The video was helpful Susan. Thank you. I love the Inkey Salicylic Acid Cleanser. Works pretty well for my oily acne prone skin and I have the Farmacy moisturizer in my Sephora basket. Thanks for the recommendation 👍🏾
I like your routine...I have very oily skin and have more things added to my routine, but I liked the things you used too. I think I’m going to buy that green spray you said repairs the skin...looks like a good product👏🏾👍🏽
I have the worst oily skin idk when it's not oily to the point I feel like I had cooking oil lathered on my face but I dont have like 226$ to spend on products but this was a wonderful tip if one day I can afford these products
Hi Everyone! I’m planning to shoot a ton of different skincare routines. This is a basic, nighttime routine for someone with oily skin. I’ll post one for those with clogged pores next! Let me know what you want to see for other routines! ❤️
Susan Yara Please do (very) sensitive acne prone skin (&combination) Thanks ♥️
Hi, I am confused with the way my skin feel right now. I've never been able to pin point the type of skin I have, it's been combination, somedays oily, specially when it's summer, and recently it's been very dry and dehydrated and I started to notice some flaky skin this morning.
Although my nose feels very oily, it flakes. I'm super confused. :(
Susan Yara dry dry and drier please
Combo skin, please!
A routine for someone using a prescription retinoid/Differin gel, please😊
I would love to see a morning oily skincare routine
Michelle Lisveth yes please. Oily dehydrated
Yes please!
Try CeraVe products! My skin transformed after switching to their foaming cleanser and AM and PM moisturizers. I'm still oily, that will never change, but my skin looks so much better, and my makeup can control the oil better now.
please do a morning oily skincare routine!
Nichole D really? I always thought they weren’t ideal for oily skin, since they had a lot of fatty alcohols and coconut derivatives.
You should do an oily skin series! Would love to see a morning oily skincare routine, and an oily makeup prep skincare routine also!
JIMMYSTUDIES will love to see that
Loved the shout out for us with oily skin: HIDRATE
I'd like to point out that Salycilic acid dissolves sebum and in my opinion, since it's in a wash form, it should be massaged, because it would get into the pores and then be removed with the continuous circular motions along with the sebum.
Thanks for the tip
I feel like everyone assumes that someone with acne has oily skin but this is not always the case. Can you talk more about this and what to do with skin that´s a bit dryer but is acne-prone, especially for people with adult acne?
I used to have dry skin with acne, now it's just dry. Exfoliation and antioxidants helped my acne, also a tea tree clay mask as spot treatment 😊
Dry acne prone I’m learning in esthetics school needs to use a hydration acid
Lactic acid malic mandelic
Glycolic salycilic could dry you out
Laura Molteni tea tree and clay along with exfoliation sounds like a dry skin nightmare.
Even Normal skin can get acne!
I would like to see a skin care routine for sensitive and dehydrated skin
Kacey Madsen yessss pls 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
YES! Featuring products without EOs or Fragrance!
One word: *Y E S .*
Kacey Madse
Kacey Madsen Yes and also for eczema skin, I have seborrhea in the scalp and especially in the hairline around the sides of my face, making my jaw, the high points of my cheeks and forehead very dry, flaky and rough in texture. Even so I have large pores and a very oily t-zone, yet extremely sensitive and reactive skin overall. Would love if these issues could be incorperated in a future video!
I need everything in this video. I'm so oily I'm scared the US is going to invade my face.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
LMAO I need friends like you in my life
😂😂😂
😂 🤣
Same here 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’ve been oily all my life! This is perfect. I have been double cleansing and removing makeup with a cream cleanser to break down the oil and makeup. Thx to you. It has calmed my skin down.
My oil factory of a face and I are here for this!! Thank you!
I have oily skin and I love cleansing balms and being really moisturized at night! I do have trouble being oil free dying the day when wearing makeup.
same i get VERY oily throughout the day, i dont wear makeup so idk what to do, its really annoying. 3-4 hours after washing my face in the morning my face is sooo shiny and oily. anyone know what to do? i dont wanna use blotting pads because its just temporary
Luna Try Niacinamide! Works wonders for me! Ordinary one I recommend🤗
karan Check out my answer here. Hope it helps!
Sara Vargek I agree! It has helped my skin a lot :)
I would try niaciminide and salicylic acid, i tried the creaVe salicylic acid wash and i noticed a good difference
I love a good double cleanse! I’ve got very oily skin and live in a tropical/humid climate. Never underestimate a good moisturizer, even if you’ve got oily skin. It does wonders to help keep your skin from over compensating and overproducing oil.
You & Hyram have just given me my skincare routine in 24 hours...while I've been trying to figure one out for like 5 years lol 🦋
I’ve got combination skin and you’ve helped me even out my skin so much and balance out my oils. Also I love your cardigan or your jumper or whatever it is it’s such a gorgeous shade of purple.
I have very oily skin and I use Farmacy cleansing balm. it’s my favorite, my skin feels nourished and soft after 💕
Love that you do a skincare routine for a skin type that’s not your own ❤️
I think that the Niod product is super interesting!

What kind of oil cleaners do you use?
Your skin is so beautiful. I have oily skin so thanks for the video

The point is more that it’s a gel-based moisturizer. That said, these plant extracts are there to control oil and calm the skin.
I have extremely oily and acne prone skin but ever since I started using the double cleansing method and starting with an oil cleanser before using a foam cleaners, my skin has improve so so much
No cotton rounds? We stan an environmentally friendly queen 👑.
Towel is much more harsh than cotton rounds.
And I'm guessing she didn't use the cleansing balm and said, "Some people are afraid to use this" because of the polyethylene in it which is apparently a form of plastic.
Yes! I'm ready for dehydrated skin routine!!
that little asmr moment with the cleanser though
definitely need a skincare routine for oily acne prone skin!!!
My oily skin routine has made my life so much easier:
Morning:
- cleanse only with water
- zinc based mineral sunscreen
- Maybelline fit me finishing powder (provides a bit of colour & absorbs oil but no coverage)
Night:
- Face Halo/Makeup Eraser cloth
- hydrating balm cleanser
- redness hydrating serum for sensitive skin
- mid-weight moisturiser
Omg! I needed this! After my pregnancy my skin changed so much and now everything cause me to break 😢
i use a cleanser and toner and mosturiser and sunscreen and facial scrubs and sheet masks
I use micellar water for heavy make up and If have used only sun screen I have washed with shower oil (Eucerin) and always for 2. time La Roche- Posay Effaclar foaming gel.
This video was awesome! Thanks Susan💜
Morning oily skincare routine please!
I would love to see a routine for combination skin that is more prone to acne especially teens
Sai Luna try a “tubular” mascara. Changed my life.
can't relate my eyelids can get borderline flakey 🤧🤧
Susan i learned so much from you about skin care. Everything you say and the way you explain it makes so much sense. You are so professional und very well informed.

Would love a skincare routine for sensitive acne prone teenage skin!
My skin:/

People always get so surprised when I tell them moisturizer breaks me out, but it’s true it does. Not everyone needs moisturizer, a good hydrating serum or essence does the trick for me and does not clog my pores but keeps me balanced and hydrated day and night.
@Mariana which hydrating serum do you use?

If your have sensitive skin I wouldn’t recommend to used a salicylic acid product and then use on top any kind of retinoids, that’s calling for irritation, probably used a regular cleanser and the next morning use the salicylic acid one.
Morning and night combination skincare routine please ! 🙏🏼
I always have oily skin and I've kinda just become reconciled with it. If I dry out my skin, it takes revenge and becomes extra oily.
