WOW! Nicely done. Even the repair of the lid was accurate and professional. No one would know what you did but you showed it to all! I love this and will work towards replicating
I watched Alan Batty make one of there in boxwood years ago. He still has a demo of it on UA-cam even now that he's been dead for several years. I was fortunate to take a 5 day class from him about 15 years ago. He taught me much, including hand thread chasing. He was old school production turner. His friend, Bill Jones was a fourth generation ivory/hardwood turner. I watched Bill demonstrate but never got to work with him. Bill also was a very efficient production turner. Bill wrote for woodturning magazines and much was put into two books. Notes from the turning shop and further notes from the turning shop. Both are good books. I love watching you work. Your devotion to turning really shows in your techniques and products!

@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning I nearly gave up, but thanks to your & Richard's guidance I am trading in my Myford ML 8 for one like yours. Thanks again, Ron.
@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning Thanks to you, catches are a thing of the past. i'm now enjoying turning more 'tricky' boxes and bowls. Getting easier by the day. Thanks Tomislav. Pass on my thanks also to Richard. Ron.
Awesome! I turn Christmas tree decorations as gifts every year and its always difficult to come up with new and interesting designs, I know what I'm turning this year, thank you for the very professional video.
Awesome piece, not sure if i would have the patience or the expertise to something so intricate. i definitely don't have the skew skills you have. thanks for sharing.
Good save! I'm going to have a go at this one - the grand kids will love it, great palce to hide their jelly beans. Bit too late with the message though, I subscribed a while ago because you've got such a good channel.
No that's a awesome little project you explained everything so well I loved watching it now I can't wait to try making one at the weekend as yes I'm going to subscribe.. awesome 👍
Oh, I so wish I had the ability to make this one for my Daughter's wedding ring box, it would be perfect. I will try but I doubt I'll manage before November. Thanks for a great video lesson, as usual.
Very cool project and really interesting design. Nice recovery; it's always good to see ways to fix issues when they occur. Very difficult to see where the mechanism is after you finished it -- just the way one would want a piece like this to be.
Thank you, ☺️ Its pretty much just a slight taper hole on the ball, and the box fits in it😀.... its really that simple 😅... Once again thank you for watching
Thanks what a challenge, I try to make one of the 4 way challenge projects ya'll do . This will be a hard one i'm not very good at spheres but i'll give it a try.
Hours of work ahead for me trying this, there will be many failures ahead but lots of fun and practice. Thanks so much for the demonstration Tomislav, Very well done.👍
That was just awesome! This is now on my list of things to try. Love everything you do and really appreciate the way you explain your process, including the mistakes - I always say, it’s not always what you know, but what you can hide! Thanks!
Thanks Tomislav, I've made 2 of these now based on your video and want to make more! For your jam chuck to hold the spheres, is it in side- or eng-grain orientation?

That was amazing. The fix at the end made it even more useful to see how you could glue a new piece in for the final lid. Pretty cool.
