All I really needed was to see how to remove the bench seat so I can install custom seat covers and you showed me how to do that so... Thanks Very Much!!
Unlike a lot of videos, this one includes a picture of the clip that you need to unfasten prior to removing the bench portion of the rear seat. This video also illustrates where you need to feel for these clips, prior to unfastening, so that you don't have to just start prying in different areas, possibly damaging something in the process. Very helpful.
Just a quick note if you have a hybrid model. The back seat isn't removable. If you pop up the seat cushion you'll see right away that the battery is mounted there with a big sticker reading caution high voltage. You can however still remove the back rests if needed. Also the bolts on 2021 are 14 mm, or if you have a 9/16 that will work a well.
Hi, great video but i have a maybe stupid question...if i just need to remove the bench should i go with all the procedure or i can go straight to the last parr?
Again, it depends on the seat cover you are installing. I cannot advise anything without knowing the seat cover. Most likely you pull around the seat with some stretching bands.
I see you have made thorough job with noise insulation. What thicknesses of noise insulation have you used and what would you recommend in the different areas?
I’m trying to do this to my 2021 Nissan rogue platinum, but can’t find any info to how to do it. Would this be similar? I have heat warmers on the back as well.
@@pault4908 Hey. So you actually don't need to remove the A Pillar to send wires up. Take the wire up between the A pillar and the door seal. When you get to the top, you can push the ceiling a bit and pull the A pillar a bit to route the wire towards the window. I have the video, I just hate doing voice overs and that's what takes me so long to make videos (lazy) but I wanted to give you an update because dash cams are important. =]
The 2022 Rav4 Adventure in Europe doesn't have a spare tire, only repair kit, can you please tell us the exact size of the tie down bolt, will try to get one online and I want to make sure it's the same size. Thanks.
What trim do you have? Mine is adventure so only gas. Might be different for hybrid/prime since there is battery there. But I think it can still be pulled up. Pull the cushion up a bit to see the corner and how it's installed.
I got 2021 Rav4 and tried to install rear seat bench cover... But I could not take off bench cause something is bolted to the rear bench seat. Please update for 2021 rav4.
If you only want to remove the bench portion of the seat do you still have to take the back parts off? Or can you just pop the bench part off by itself?
Hey. The sound deadening helps noise from the road and anything else that can vibrate. I applied to all doors, rear cargo and under the back seats. You can check out other youtube videos on how effective they are.
I'm interested in doing this because I do delivery work on the side and need the extra space for large wholesale club orders. I only wish to remove the backrests. Will there be an annoying alert noise without that seatbelt sensor plugged in that you have to remove to get the backrests out?
I did not record the process. Applying the dampening is as difficult as video recording for me. lol. But I have many other videos you can follow to tear apart the Rav4 so you can expose the sheet metal or frame of the vehicle to apply the deadening material.
I believe my ring fell in the opening where the right seat belt handle is housed. Will I be able to get to the bottom of the seat belt clip by removing the seat?
Thanks for the video. I noticed that you installed Kilmat sound deadening to the floor. Did you do your entire car? Where else did you install it? And how long did it take you to do? Thanks!
I did everything except the floor under the carpet and the ceiling. Took about a couple of days because of weather and I took my time. Needed about 50 sq ft of material or 1 and a half boxes of the kilmat 80mil.
@@williamsitton I did not analytically measure it but will say it feels to my ears better. I think some people said it reduced noise by a couple decibels (which is huge). It makes the audio sound more strong without having to go up on the volume especially after the amp and sub.
I pulled up I heard something breaking and now my seat is loose from the one side. So I stopped and didn’t pull any further. 😓 I tried pushing it down and it doesn’t click back in.
That's a good question that I did not test out. I'll follow up if I disconnect the sensor for a project (I have one coming up to re-wire my subwoofer). I am certain the warning light will display but cannot comment on the airbags. I would hope they still deploy regardless of occupancy.

Thanks
No issue for warranty. You can remove bench without removing the back rest. Uninstall should be the same. 2 clips at the corner then slide out. I think I saw somewhere that I this the same for hybrids.
Thank you for your reply. I spoke with my dealership and they said if I remove the back seat bench the warranty will mostly be void as its not supposed to be removed other than the dealership. Also, for any add-on (example if I have to use a dash cam, fog light, HUD etc) and need to plug it to the fuse box or touch th le wiring then again warranty will become void apparently. So now im thinking of oem dashcam and no after market add-ons just to have piece of mind of warranty being intact.
You can undo a lot of those modifications you are describing before you go to the dealership for a claim. They’re being dumb, but up to you. They were successful in selling you another product at the end of the day.
Yeah I did think about it...but if something were to happen and im not in a position to get all the extras removed before taking to dealership then its going to be a strain.
