Everyone saying they can't do barr chords. Don't take the easy way out because the chords are crucial for other songs. You will eventually build the strength if you don't give up. Nobody said it was easy lol

Guys, it's not that difficult! I got my first guitar last friday. Now, after one week I can almost play half of this song. It's not perfect but I'm very proud of myself, bc friday was the first time I've ever held the guitar in my hand :) I was playing for about 30 mins everyday. Keep trying and you'll see some good results!

@@ellamarashi7615 oh i had the same problem. Remember to bend your wrist. How lond do you play? My father plays sooo many types of guitar and he always reminds me to bend my wrist, bc I still forget about it sometimes.. unfortunately I have prints on my fingers :((

You can use a flat index finger for the first two "D" notes, just remove your middle finger from the 3rd fret on the transition :)

Was I the only one who noticed he plays a completely different strumming pattern for G and A major then the one we said when he slowed it down? When I did DDU for both A and G it didn’t sound like the song so I’ve watched this video a thousand times trying to figure out the right strumming pattern. I think it’s DD for G and UUDU for A. If someone could please help me that would be great. Idk if I have it right or not.

you did a better job than 3 other guys that tried to show me. Where did they fail? They wouldn’t tell me what strings to strum, and they didn’t have a clear shot of the strumming hand. So i had spent quite a bit of time getting very angry that i had tuned my guitar, formed the notes, but wasn’t getting anywhere near the same sound. Perhaps now that i can make it sound as it should i can get a hang of the strum pattern by ear.

I cant really play B minor without my fingers getting into a very awkward position and once I do my index finger cant hold the 5 strings down hard enough. SEND HELP

there is a b minor you can do tht is not a bar chord! much easier!! 1st finger on high e second fret, 2nd finger b string 3rd fret, other two fingers d and g strings on 4th fret. boom. so much easier

Ello, I'm here in 2020 and I began guitar two months ago. This song I have come back to multiple times and I desperately wanna learn it but I cant get it down on some of the transitions. Any ideas to help me?

okay I'm confused with the strumming pattern. It seems like you are doing the down up while changing chords and not on the actual chord. So do you do the up on the next chord ? for the intro ?
I am so confused... It always sounds as you change the chords one beat too early (compared to what you sid when you explained the chords and rhythm slowly), it that on purpose to have the chord there on time?
Once u get the hang of it it’s quite simple

is it okay to learn the whole song with d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-u? will it make that much of a difference?
so I'm assuming its how you play it as a whole, but just a note, when going through slowly on the G and A part, you say down down up for both but when you play it whole, you go G-down down A-up up down up.

You should spend equal time on all parts i had to watch the video 10 times to get the last part down, because you only played it twice in the video.

Just keep practicing. Thats actually the easiest bar chord to learn for the reason your only playing 5 strings and 3 of them are played sith middle index and pinky so your pointer finger plays the B note than just pinch the high E string into the fret board with the bottom of your index finger. With a little practice youll get it
