Love Tony, what a guy ❤
This tournament and seeing the reaction of my dad, uncles and cousins after the penalty shootout against Spain is what got me hooked on football
For me, 1996 was the best EURO tournament.
I'll never forget the semi between England and Germany and the skirmishes between Andreas Möller and Paul Gascoigne.
And Southgate had Germany shot into the final.
Another game in my mind is England against Scotland and the brilliant move from Gascoigne against Colin Hendry.
Mr Arsenal ❤🤍
Most apps for England in the Old Wembley
No player im history has won the League in three different decades as a captain like tony Adams (1980's,1990's,2000's) ❤👏
Honestly Euro 96 was the best tournament England ever played
If I'm honest, we were terrible against Switzerland, got a slice of luck against Scotland, and were brilliant against Holland (although Bergkamp missed a one-on-one with Seaman at 0-0, the game could have been very different). We should have been beaten by Spain and the Germans were much better than Tony Adams admits to in the semi, although I concede that England shaded the match quality-wise.
Sky Sports News, This was really good. Wanna collab and create something even better?
Gascoigne, mcmanaman impressed me most at euro 96...
Skipper
All this epic on a 2 wins and 3 draws tournament. Move on after 30 years cmon
I know, as an Englishman it's embarrassing how we commemorate so-called glorious failure as though we're a tiny nation of 3 million not expected to get to semi-finals let alone finals and winning the damn thing.
