With the thread zapper, you could gently separate or close the two prongs so that you create more friction to hold it in place. This might stop it from falling out.

Ooh good idea! They might be too rigid but I’m going to try this!

I too had the battery powered Thread Zapper and it really ate batteries so I purchased the pink one and love it. Great investment.

I'm glad you showed the pink thread zapper. I have the other one and it is hit or miss whether it even heats so I quit using it. I willl say that I found out that I could "cut" the curves area on zipper tape using the Thread Zap II (when it worked. The pink Etcokie does the same. I draw out a line on the tape so I won't accidentally "make too deep of a cut. While I am here, I want to tell you that I am really enjoying uour quickie videos. But I love the long ones and am waiting for new ones. Thanks.🤩

Oh that’s a great tip about using it for curves!! I am going to try that!! Thank you!
I am hoping to get my next longer tutorial filmed this week, the pattern release videos for other designers I have done lately have been fairly labor intensive so it has taken a bit longer to get another skill builder out, but I promise I’m working on it! The quicker videos are obviously easier to get filmed & edited between bigger projects but the longer videos are my preference too. ;) Thank you for the feedback!! ❤️

Thanks! That’s a much better alternative to a lighter. Looking forward to more favorite things 😊👏👏

Glad to help!! It is such a handy tool that I get asked about a lot, but I don’t want to keep sending people to get the one I no longer use, even though it’s what has featured heavily in my tutorials!! Best to have all the info. ;)

Thanks for the review. Have you ever tried them on sealing the zipper ends? I am petrified of open flames, and would never use a lighter. Just curious. Thanks again

Hi Mary! I have tried it, and unfortunately I didn’t find it to be effective enough, it’s such a small filament. If you don’t want to use a lighter have you tried fray check on your zipper ends instead of melting them?

I was thinking that would be an issue, but great to hear from someone who has tried. 😊. I have FrayCheck, but have not used it yet! Thanks so much

I was still thinking about your question so today had a bit of a play with this and will have a quick tip up soon that you may like, but long story short I have changed my mind on this and think that you actually could use it for a zipper end!

It comes up a lot so I thought this is a good resource to direct people to so they can decide for themselves if/which!
