New Camshaft Position Sensor from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ACP...
This video shows you how to install a camshaft position sensor on your 2001-2005 Honda Civic. For vehicles with electronically controlled timing, a camshaft position sensor relays important information to the computer to ensure the engine is running properly. A bad sensor may relay incorrect or no information, resulting in poor running conditions and trouble codes.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
    2001 Honda Civic
    2002 Honda Civic
    2003 Honda Civic
    2004 Honda Civic
    2005 Honda Civic

Screw a bunch of that!!! 1.Place jack/wood block under oil pan 2.Remove motor mount 3 nuts. 3.Remove ac lines bracket bolt in valve cover for wiggle room. 4.Pry off round sensor dust cap and reach inside and disconnect elec connector. 5.Remove 3 upper timing belt cover bolts(hardest part) 6.Use flathead to pry lower rear of cover from its backing piece(it separates near where that rearmost bolt was).7.Carefully wriggle the cover slightly downward then back, up and out. 8.Replace sensor ..
    one bolt. DONE shaka lacka.

I just cleaned the sensor connection with contact spray and plugged it back up. I pulled the batt cable to reset the code and it has so far worked for me.

He doesn't mention replacing the valve cover gasket but looks like he did. It looked red at the beginning, then black when replacing the cover. He also mentions not having to remove the power steering pump, but looking closely at the video, it looks like he did.

Never mentions removing engine bracket. Never mentions replacing valve cover gasket…..annoying

For an older car like this, might as well do a valve adjustment, clean EGR valve, replace EGR gasket, replace seals on valve cover bolts, etc.

Thank you. very accurate video for what i went through except how long and how many tries it took me to get the sensor back in place. my only comment is in regard to not dropping the sensor's bolt. in removing it i bent a cheapo magnet on a stick and fed through my deep socket to turn it into a magnetized socket. and in replacing the bolt, i used the whole finger from a glove and covered the entire deep socket and it came out with the socket.

Since the valve cover seal is being broken, how important is it to replace the valve cover gasket? I didn't see you put on a new gasket so I figured I'd ask

Another advantage to this method is that(after you replace the sensor) you can connect the elec connector and immediately start up car and see if error code vanishes. (Maybe replace motor mount just in case?) Cant start it up with valve cover and 15 million hoses disconnected... lol.

Do you have to take the valve cover and wiring harness off too or can you just remove the 3 bolts on the plastic cover and get to the camshaft

@@MichaelMosesHammer Since you are still lifting the valve cover on one end will this cause the valve cover gasket to be uncompressed and loosened and thus leak later on. Hence you will need to put on new gasket anyway???? What has your experience with leakage like????

Why don’t car manufacturers just designed things so they are easier to get to? Design to upper timing cover to just pop off? Doesn’t seem like it would be too hard to incorporate in the design.

You didn’t mention that you removed the power steering lines now I’m screwed. They’re right in the way and I’m unable to move forward after ripping my car apart. Ugh.
