I've died before and it feels the exact same way. When you're trying to hold on to your life and stay alive it's like trying to stay awake as you lose consciousness while you lose your blood. You don't even feel it is the scary part.
Randy is a very nice man, a real role model. I met him 3 different times hes always so nice and positive.

You always should hold the arm up the person you're choking out up in the air so you know instantly by their hand falling down that it's time to let go.... This is for safety purposes.

That has to be the scariest way to die. Tunnel vision, knowing the person isn't letting go, makes me shiver thinking about it and also makes me want to learn how to defend against that even though I know it would never come up in real life. Particularly getting choked, it seems so personal. This is why you shouldn't get into street fights, you don't know if the other guy can kill you also street fighting is a bad thing to have on your record.

If you keep fighting, its very peaceful as you are fighting and then all the sudden you wake up and people are around you and you don't even know you were choked.

If you don't fight and a friend is doing this to you... then it feels like you're drowning. I've did this as a test for a class I was running on the rear naked choke and I let someone choke me out.
It was pretty bad.... and I felt like I was drowning at the end. I didn't know it at the time, but on the video I was kicking pretty bad ... lol

There are tons of chokes from choking you out with your own jacket (like a Gi choke), to smothering you with your chin pressed against your chest with a darce choke... :)
My first class I was caught with a gi choke, then triangle, several armbars.

It definitely happens less but when you always have high level people to train with, you will still get tapped.
The situations where people tap you, learn exactly what they are doing, so you can do it to someone else... :)
If you don't have people tapping you out, you need to move on to the next test ... and go train somewhere else.
Also it sort of turns around at a point...
You start to realize how powerful your moves are. So then you can sit back and put yourself in really bad situations and not only survive, but attack...

I managed to tap once he let go fast but I was out, I recovered quick he did not even know. My instructor saw it though and he just smirked.
