And if I start to clear faster to avoid this it just ends with us both fast pushing and waves crashing in the center. Punish your laner. If they are focused on fast pushing you can hit them for free, with the next wave you can slow push since they are too low to risk you hitting them like that again and they can’t hit wave as much with you in it.
I love it when all my opponent does is fast push. It lets me know that they're clueless about wave management and it'll be an easy lane. You missed one important fact - minion buffs. You cannot effectively freeze if your team is ahead(not like you are looking to do it, only in very rare cases). Once your team is ahead your minions get buffed so that it's harder to freeze and the winning team gets punished for not pushing the wave. So for example - if your minions have a buff, in a neutral state it will ALWAYS create a slowpush for the enemy, thus, resulting in you losing xp and gold while enemy gets a stacked wave crash for "free". Of course, there is a downside where enemy has the freedom to roam, but you should already know that after watching the video.
I guess I slow push in a lot of games without being aware of it. The only problem I have with it is diving an opponent under tower. As Garen when you’re autoing the tower and you want to Q your opponent, it will end up Q’ing the tower. The same happens when you’re autoing a minion.
I didn't quite understand how to practically set a slow push, the freezing is very specific and easy, fast pushing even more so, but what is the correct time or zone to start a slow push?
Start a slowpush if- 1) You want a roam timing- if you slowpush, the enemy is stuck last hitting and cant follow, and you wont miss cs 2) You want to recall for an item 3) You had a freeze set up and its breaking 4) You think you can dive the enemy 5) After a wave hits your tower you can't freeze so you should slowpush it back
If the minions are even in the middle, just make the lane uneven by killing 2-3 minions and then only last hit. If it's on your side, having them even and last hitting is more than enough.
any of these four criteria can work for slow pushing 1.) Is there an objective on the map to fight for? (herald/scuttle for top lane, dragon/scuttle for bot lane) 2.) Do I have kill pressure in the lane right now? it can be that your jungler is nearby or you think you can solo kill them under turret 3.) Do I have an important buy soon? say you're 300 gold away from your item powerspike, you want to slowpush to return to lane without losing cs 4.) Is my jungler invading?
i got two questions. 1) do i last hit the melee minions after killing the castors if i slow push or do i leave lane after i killed the castors so im not even able to last hit the melees? 2) do i only kill the castors of the first wave and last hit the following waves or do i kill the castors of the following waves too?
When you want to created a minion disadvantage, does it matter what minion it is? Like a caster or a tank, or is it only that you need to have the (dis)advantage of caster minions.
Generally what you want to have is 4 caster minions to keep a freeze that way you take the minimum dmg from them and also keep the freeze difficult for the enemy
I was wondering for some time, but can you influence the neutral minion aggression? I have had some cases of a freeze, when suddenly a normal creep said "YEET!" and attacked the caster backline (and thus got nuked by tower). Can I prevent this without breaking the freeze or is it slowpushtime?
When a minion of your side dies near you the enemy minions act like a turret taking aggro to whoever is closer to them. The only scenario when what you just explained happens is when enemy minions get aggro on you and you pull him towards your backline
Or when there are even minions on the map and you hit the caster minions.Whole wave runs towards you. That tactic is the way i set up bounce back on huge waves by just slapping a caster minion and dragging the whole wave a bit behind the middle of the lane
Honestly just don't freeze in gold or below. Doesn't matter how many times you ping your laner missing. Your team will disrespect it and the enemy will gain a bigger advantage than your freeze created. Slow push and either dive if you can or roam if you cant. Every time.
U can t do freezing alone, it is a mix of freezing and slow push a repeat cycle of slow push (the wave bounce back u freeze 2 waves znd zone him then slow push again and dive him or if jgler is there too just shove the wave and go b or roam)

When I play as yorick my 1 trick for 2 seasons. I’ve gotten much better at fast pushing and abusing bad enemy jg players. I hard push with maiden then roam to their jg. I’ve gotten better at knowing where the enemy jg is so if I know his top side is free I take Krugs and maybe chickens if i have the time. This gives you a great lead and you counter the enemy jg in the process. Most hard pushing tops like garen or Darius can do this as well. You’ll probably be at a 8-10 cs per min and just stomp through levels and gold. This is risky though because a good enemy top can counter this and a good enemy jg would farm his entire jg so you have less chance to abuse them. Around plat 1 to diamond you start to notice jg players get better. So they are harder to abuse. And not every game goes this well. The best you can do is just try to get 8cs per min every game. If your jg doesn’t farm their top side. And they are bot take their jg because most likely the enemy jg will take it anyway. I peaked diamond 3 last season and I’m plat 1 now with a 76% winrate in 50 games. So i hope this helps someone.
What is the most optimal thing to do? Obviously push and maintain pressure, correct? Obviously, there are times to switch up tactics. What do I do when my enemy laner is consistently MONKEY PUSHING and straight up maintaining fast push? How do I punish that?
So my question -> i‘m a fiora main, often i kill my enemy on my side and then i dont know what to do. Do i set up a slow push? freeze or fast push? fiora is rly bad at fast pushing. often times i try to fast push and enemy mininions apear to early and if i go back i lose a lot of exp because my minions kills their minions faster
Yes, or if the enemy is dumb and starts pushing first (Like many Yasuos) You can just thin the wave and freeze straight off or Katarina for example can´t farm with Q without pushing passively But most of the time yes like you explained
did you know Guinsoo's phantom hit works with EZ Qs now? pretty insane. Rage Knife + 4 Agility Cloaks. When finishing Guinsoo's buy another Cloak, then full buy ER\Galeforce. Should still have 2 agility cloaks left for whatever. I like getting LDR/BT and then replacing Lucidity Boots with BotRK. It's also possible to skip out on replacing the Agility Cloak that finishing Guinsoo's consumes, so that you can buy other component items or get BotRK earlier...would depend on when you're at the shop.
i'm a low elo player and only play league from time to time and i was playing league with high elo friends, i got top and i was again a darius that kept freezing all the game and i didn't know what to do cause he got fed at the start from me lagging. had i watched this video i think i would have known what to do
7:40 Isnt this just wrong? If you decide to freeze when youre likely about to get dove, youll just make it easier for them due to the bigger minion wave
Indeed this why you should keed just 3 to 4 casters right out of your turret range.Even in the worst case when they kill you, the price is just and extra 4casters experience and gold which is equal to 2 melles's gold and 1mellee's exp
Depends if the enemy top is able to push in the wave and if you're diveable. It is much harder to do all this than if you have a normal lanestate and the enemy jungle can walk up and gank you. Freezing is considered to be playing safe since you're closer to your tower.
Just a rough estimate its not correct about the gold indeed but still you get the idea. Its like gambling while knowing u can lose ur money so you just minimise the lost amout
@@henrikhillemyr4894 the price of bein killed is equal to whole wave deny.In order to return ur loss you freeze once u get back while they're walking back to lane from a recall and deny them 3melles.Now the trade off for your death is 7 caster minions exp & gold or half wave to be exact.
@@lmripper3659 idk what you're talking about. It's barely readable, but you don't freeze with the exakt same minions every time. Every freeze is almost different. When freezing you need to ward in your tribush so you can see a dive incoming and backing in time. Just try and soak exp. That's how you play weakside. Safe near your turret with wards.
I don't get wave management... I know when it's time to fast push, but i can never do it, in the early game it's too hard to do it effectively. And when i can finally manage to do it because i've enough dmg, the laning phase is over and tower are already crumbling. Because games are faster nowadays (15-20 min for me most of the time), the best way to win is to get camp by your jungle, snowball and get fed. It feels like this season is less about farming than the others, idk !
If, and this is a pretty fat IF... IF I can manage to remember all this AND apply it in Normal Draft, I MIGHT gain the confidence to start playing ranked. That's a huge IF, and I learned early that you can tank your elo so hard you can't carry your way out without a coach or a lot of practice. :-/
i say just go for it if u havent already, i started playing league when you made this comment and i am already above 50% of the players rank wise. i say you can do it
I confirm i already get like 75% of that. Now, how do i teach that to my pre-ranked training bot ADC (low silver) who just a-move the whole game, get us both killed (ganked at the pushed tower) then blame me the support for it, even if i begged all game to not push the lane, and this very scenario already happened like 5 times in a row. This one of the most frustrating thing for a support.
If they hardpush all the time ask for a gank. U also can look for a fight/trade when All Their abilities are on cooldown. If they hardpush u can also towerfarm and ask for top teleport mid roam or the jngl gank
You can't make a slowpush against champions with much more waveclear than you; heck, you can't do anything about the wave against champions with more waveclear than you. Of course you can abuse their CDs or make them choose between using their skills against the wave or against you, gaining in mana advantage, etc.
they can last hit but that comes at the cost of you damaging them, and possibly even killing them. and they are aware of that and will generally stand back and do nothing, or come close and get 1-2 minions tops before being hit by your attacks again.
So uh... you had a point about breaking the freeze by asking your jungler to come over and gank you. You had a but there, you said "but you will share the gold and experience that way" So please tell me how that is worse than not getting anything at all?
That sion should have died in the wave and clear it as soons as he can so the push would give him time to come back , death as sions is a resource that you can spend, especialy since irelia into sion is such a pain
In my elo junglers are decent or idiots, you tell them protect the lane when I used teleport to help bot lane, they will farm enemy cs even, and allow enemy to get back into the game by taking towers and plates That is plat elo

Lost toplane as Shen vs Teemo (first time Shen and Teemo is pure cancer) so I couldn't really do much in lane so I decided to instead just gank mid/toplane a lot
10:35 No no no no no. You are wrong. He gonna blame the jg for no gank and spamm jg diff in all chat. Then when you try to take your raptors he come up and try to steal as muvh as he can.
If your opponent has kill pressure then it wasn’t your freeze. If you can’t punish them for trying to crash the wave effectively then you don’t have the advantage to commit the freeze, as the video stated with the syndra example, Your freeze just became their slow push.
Yeah me to, but just practice vs bots. I think it's use their map for how much minions you want to have depending on the place where you want to hold the freeze. And when it comes to your turret you want to tank some caster minions too make the wave not crash. But just practice and watch this video daily 2 times, and in 1 week you can dream this

I guess I slow push in a lot of games without being aware of it. The only problem I have with it is diving an opponent under tower. As Garen when you’re autoing the tower and you want to Q your opponent, it will end up Q’ing the tower. The same happens when you’re autoing a minion.
There is a setting that allows you to only click champions called "target champions only"
He literally never specified how to slow push, only listed it's advantages.
I didn't quite understand how to practically set a slow push, the freezing is very specific and easy, fast pushing even more so, but what is the correct time or zone to start a slow push?
Start a slowpush if-
1) You want a roam timing- if you slowpush, the enemy is stuck last hitting and cant follow, and you wont miss cs
2) You want to recall for an item
3) You had a freeze set up and its breaking
4) You think you can dive the enemy
5) After a wave hits your tower you can't freeze so you should slowpush it back
If the minions are even in the middle, just make the lane uneven by killing 2-3 minions and then only last hit.
If it's on your side, having them even and last hitting is more than enough.
any of these four criteria can work for slow pushing
1.) Is there an objective on the map to fight for? (herald/scuttle for top lane, dragon/scuttle for bot lane)
2.) Do I have kill pressure in the lane right now? it can be that your jungler is nearby or you think you can solo kill them under turret
3.) Do I have an important buy soon? say you're 300 gold away from your item powerspike, you want to slowpush to return to lane without losing cs
4.) Is my jungler invading?
i got two questions. 1) do i last hit the melee minions after killing the castors if i slow push or do i leave lane after i killed the castors so im not even able to last hit the melees? 2) do i only kill the castors of the first wave and last hit the following waves or do i kill the castors of the following waves too?
I've watched almost 10 of these in a row and I feel like I'm gaining braincells!
*I can almost hear the fan running in my brain.*
FOUND IT! THANKS FOR UPDATING THIS!
My Targon-building Soraka has never heard of this "slow push" you speak of.
Every time.
I actually freeze 24/7 when smurfing xd
@@lmripper3659 weird. I normally play top and its almost always better for me to slow push to draw pressure and 1v2 when I'm smurfing. What position?
U can t do freezing alone, it is a mix of freezing and slow push a repeat cycle of slow push (the wave bounce back u freeze 2 waves znd zone him then slow push again and dive him or if jgler is there too just shove the wave and go b or roam)
Wait ppl normally honor the person with the highest kills??? I always honor the person who was the nicest in game.
Well you’re alone 🤡
@@austinflores7185 Well I'm not changing my ways. "KDA" isn't what the types of honor are. Good leadership, team player, and keeping cool are what the honors are listed for. I'm not gonna lie and just put whoever had a high kill count.
@@AwwesomeVal do not listen to him, only toxic care about score...
Thanks for sharing this :)
what number would be an ideal big wave to crush?
also if my opponent has great waveclear wouldn't that deny me from slow pushing?
Who remembers the good old time SRO teached us the way of the 3 waves? ...
It was a better time .. it was a simpler time ...
What is the most optimal thing to do? Obviously push and maintain pressure, correct? Obviously, there are times to switch up tactics. What do I do when my enemy laner is consistently MONKEY PUSHING and straight up maintaining fast push? How do I punish that?
The most important push is the slow push, but this video is not explaining how to do it.... I mean it's pretty vague to slow push a wave, what is it ?
So my question -> i‘m a fiora main, often i kill my enemy on my side and then i dont know what to do. Do i set up a slow push? freeze or fast push? fiora is rly bad at fast pushing. often times i try to fast push and enemy mininions apear to early and if i go back i lose a lot of exp because my minions kills their minions faster
"Slow pushing is pushing the minion wave... slowly" Great video! Could be useful against bots, but probably useless against iron4+
You forgot about the most important tip “Don’t expect your enemiesto be bots, they might know these things equally to you.
Good video!
7:32 more often that not this decision depends if your enemy laner is Irelia
Thank you for this, now i can finally get out of gold 2 after 300 wins
SKILL CAP IS LITERALLY THE PLACE FOR MACRO HANDS DOWN
Bro lol is so safisticated and I love it
5:00 - so to freeze you first have to fastpush, so the wave crashes, then you can freeze on bouce back, am I getting this right?
Yes, or if the enemy is dumb and starts pushing first (Like many Yasuos) You can just thin the wave and freeze straight off or Katarina for example can´t farm with Q without pushing passively
But most of the time yes like you explained
This video doesnt explain anything about how to slow push effectively.
im a little late, but thx. I'm feeling a little smarter now xD
did you know Guinsoo's phantom hit works with EZ Qs now? pretty insane.
Last time I was this early my top laner didn’t afk yet
i'm a low elo player and only play league from time to time and i was playing league with high elo friends, i got top and i was again a darius that kept freezing all the game and i didn't know what to do cause he got fed at the start from me lagging. had i watched this video i think i would have known what to do
7:40 Isnt this just wrong?
Awesome insightful video ty
I don't get wave management... I know when it's time to fast push, but i can never do it, in the early game it's too hard to do it effectively. And when i can finally manage to do it because i've enough dmg, the laning phase is over and tower are already crumbling. Because games are faster nowadays (15-20 min for me most of the time), the best way to win is to get camp by your jungle, snowball and get fed. It feels like this season is less about farming than the others, idk !
Me a top Teemo: Slow push is my passion.
I wish all of this made sense to me😂
Can someone explain me when to push in early game when to freeze howro decide depent on what?
Slow push into tower : enemy has to stay
Me a "support" main : I have no such weakness
That Zed player at 10 min mark is the most casual Diamond player ever xD “I want kills, but my team is pulling me down!”
i say just go for it if u havent already, i started playing league when you made this comment and i am already above 50% of the players rank wise. i say you can do it
and just so you know if you learn all this and become good at it you are already better than most
I confirm i already get like 75% of that.
Looks like you should play a role to Carry instead of depending on another you can go back to support in high plat or low Diamond
I think diving Xayah Rakan duo requires at least four people past level 6. Change my mind
how can i create slowpush when enemy ADC is nonstop hardpushing ?
If they hardpush all the time ask for a gank. U also can look for a fight/trade when All Their abilities are on cooldown.
If they hardpush u can also towerfarm and ask for top teleport mid roam or the jngl gank
You can't make a slowpush against champions with much more waveclear than you; heck, you can't do anything about the wave against champions with more waveclear than you. Of course you can abuse their CDs or make them choose between using their skills against the wave or against you, gaining in mana advantage, etc.
Could someone explain how freezing denies your enemy cs? Can't they just last hit too?
they can last hit but that comes at the cost of you damaging them, and possibly even killing them. and they are aware of that and will generally stand back and do nothing, or come close and get 1-2 minions tops before being hit by your attacks again.
I do all three of those game-losing mistakes and that's why I'm still in bronze
ITS OK LOOOL
So fast push beats slow push, slow push beats freeze and freeze beats fast push?
I like the part when they tell you how good a slow push is but don’t actually tell you how to set one up
I don't like how everything is around top lane. I need these guides for mid :(
So uh... you had a point about breaking the freeze by asking your jungler to come over and gank you.
You had a but there, you said "but you will share the gold and experience that way"
So please tell me how that is worse than not getting anything at all?
9:48 I winced as I saw that jinx rocket just barely miss because of talya knockback
Never mind, that was the enemy jinx anyway
so i cancel my sub and i dont get a refund and i email support and no one answers ? what should i do??
That sion should have died in the wave and clear it as soons as he can so the push would give him time to come back , death as sions is a resource that you can spend, especialy since irelia into sion is such a pain
In my elo junglers are decent or idiots, you tell them protect the lane when I used teleport to help bot lane, they will farm enemy cs even, and allow enemy to get back into the game by taking towers and plates
That is plat elo
Neace froze the wave against a Darius and Darius was hard stuck lvl 2
when u want to activate a slowpush, kill the ranged minions
how to create a slow push wasn't explained very well beyond "fast push but slower".
Until they introduce minion damage reduction..
Just me or there is a lot of background noise? Edit: ok it's music lol
The red border in the thamnel looks like i already watched it
Can you make this video without explaining, what a type of push is used for. Just in short, how to do each. Would help me freaking out. I´m close to download this video and cut it for me.
Thanks for your work!
Lost toplane as Shen vs Teemo (first time Shen and Teemo is pure cancer) so I couldn't really do much in lane so I decided to instead just gank mid/toplane a lot
0:54 azir vs wall
Lol wait if you freeze a wave while enemy jungle is on your side won't they just break the freeze and dive you?
Shouldn't you freeze if you're OWN jungler is coming to your lane?
10:35 No no no no no.
You are wrong.
He gonna blame the jg for no gank and spamm jg diff in all chat.
Then when you try to take your raptors he come up and try to steal as muvh as he can.
Everytime i freeze my wave my enemy laner just dives me how do i avoid thos
If your opponent has kill pressure then it wasn’t your freeze.
If you can’t punish them for trying to crash the wave effectively then you don’t have the advantage to commit the freeze, as the video stated with the syndra example, Your freeze just became their slow push.
You can't milk those
POV: you already tilted and want a win again.
Mon reuf, tu voulais nous faire passer un message en morse en spammant ta touche ou bien?
One year later. From Latin America!
super
I’m still actually pretty dam confused
My duo and I got tired of getting ganked bot lane so I learned to slow push and gank mid after. Have a taste of your own medicine stupid mid laners :D
As a mid laner, there is nothing more tilting then getting ganked by bot lane. It feels really bad.
You shouldn't freeze cuz Zed just wanna have fun U,- U
I have trouble Holding a freeze
Yeah me to, but just practice vs bots. I think it's use their map for how much minions you want to have depending on the place where you want to hold the freeze. And when it comes to your turret you want to tank some caster minions too make the wave not crash. But just practice and watch this video daily 2 times, and in 1 week you can dream this
Wait whaaa, fast pushing isn’t the strongest?!
13:26 item advantage... surr
who is this? I only know mcbaze and hector from SC but I dont know this one
