A good thing to note for raids: the catch rate is 100%. I have yet to fail a catch in raids even in 5 and 6 star raids, so even if it’s not shiny you can feel free to catch it in any Pokéball you want

I always use premiere balls in raids! 😂 never anywhere else though

Is it 100% for everyone, or just the host (like in SwSh)?
Long story short:
1) Turn off Auto-Save
2) Check if raid is shiny via solo raid.
3) If shiny, back out and manually save.
4) Host raid/etc.
5) Finish raid all the way until you're back to overworld .
6) Force close game, and reload game to do raid again.
People who did raid with you keeps pokemon, but you get to redo it to get it however many times you want

Everything about shinies is a lot harder to see in this game. I wish there were sparkles in the overworld like in Arceus :(
Right! I don't understand why they removed it. It's hard to tell shiny from regular on some of these pokemon 😒
@@bnblawnco tried to shiny hunt haunter... Gave up after a few resets... First of all only thing you can tell them apart is their fricking tongue... And also as soon as day comes there won't be any more there even if there is a haunter breakout 🙄
You also can’t hold don’t R or L to quickly move between boxes. You have to move between them one at a time. Pokémon just love removing basic functionality and being anti-consumerist.
Harder??? You can literally find shinies in under 30 minutes. It's not necessary imo

Not sure if someone’s mentioned this already, but I just discovered that the rewards are determined at the den’s generation, not completion. So if you’ve saved in front of a den that drops ability patch or salty herba, you can repeatedly host & share the goodies. Found my second patch today & got 5 more out of the same den.
I've only found spicy herba mystica unfortunately
How do you do this? Do you just beat the raid and reset after to beat it again?

Unfortunately you can’t keep any of the rewards since you’re not saving after, but if you have a buddy that will share the patches / host the shiny sandwiches it makes everything easier. Also having them eat a lvl 2 raid boost for whatever type the den is grants even greater rewards.
My brother found a den that dropped 5 herba mystica we were gonna farm it but he accidentally saved
I caught a shiny Frigibax from a den without knowing at the time. Only later when I sent it out in battle did I realize it. I saw sparkles and heard the sound effect but was surprised that it came from my team. Looking back at it, Frigibax's shiny is notably different, but I found the den at the start of the game so I had no idea how it was supposed to look like. It's now on my team :)
Just found my first shiny raid. It was a shiny klawf. It is a great shiny.

Found a shiny Finnizen in a tera raid battle, I was so happy about it but couldn't share with anyone cuz I battled it alone and didn't want to risk resetting it. I was so happy, I wanted it so hard and it happened in the most unlikely way possible :').
This happened during my hunt of Bombirdier and I didn't even want to do the raid, but then I saw it was a Finnizen and changed my mind
I was doing random online battles and I came across a shiny Palafin(what ever the evolution is called) raid, i noticed it when the eyes were a different color. It was the most random raid I had ever done.

Shinies are strange in this game.
I got a shiny Psyduck basically right after the tutorial and then a shiny Toxel in my first raid (which i did with my wife, so we both have it :D). We both were like "...wait, that thing looks kinda brighter than normal.. or does it?". Some time after this this my wife got a shiny Marril and i a Garados. Just yesterday my wife got a shiny Psyduck herself. All full odds.
Ya I saw a shiny venomoth at the start of the game accidentally killed it and didn't find another til after I beat the game so yeah shinies are pretty weird in this game

I was wondering whether they did the "shiny animation" or not. Good to know for future dens. Sometimes it's difficult to see the colourations with all that crystal in the way lol. I'll be Google-ing the shiny variations of these new mons with every den now to make sure.
You don't need to look up shiny colors to know if it's shiny. If it's not looking normal, it's shiny.
@@ItApproaches But some pokes have really slight variations in color that aren't noticeable at first glance, so looking at a comparison pic could definitely help. Tandemaus, gengar, armarouge, ceruledge or blissey for example :x
@@ItApproaches that is true for the players who have completed their dex. I am, however, still in the process of completing mine and am not familiar with every single Pokemon's shiny varient and regular colouration. I wish I was that good lol 😂

My 1st shiny in this game was a Terra Raid Pawniard. Also within my first 15 Raids. Didn't realize it until after I caught(just mashed A during the entire raid)

Congratulations on finding your game's first shiny Pokémon! Me first Terra Raid shiny was a ditto. And managed to share it with some fortunate strangers by working with them online.
Perfect timing for the video! I just found my first shiny raid den yesterday. It was a 3-star Zangoose 😁
You definately hear the shiny sound upon entering, but it's easy to miss. I know this because I was on my phone not paying attention and then looked up once I heard the shiny sound. lol
I got a 1-star shiny Hattena from an online raid, which is a shiny so difficult to notice (with only the tip of its hat being slightly different which I think is obscured by the tera crown) I only found it when my trainer card didn’t match the shinies I thought I had and I double-checked my boxes. If the person who hosted it knew it was shiny, total MVP.
By far the most informative channel I have seen when it comes to pokemon scarlet/violet

Thank you so much for posting this! I just learned about the shiny pokemon battled stat on your profile card (I never check mine) and was devastated to see that it said 1 more than I thought I had. I happened to watch this just for fun, so then I went through my boxes and learned I apparently fought (and luckily caught!) a shiny eelektrik in a den! Given how minor its shiny is and that it's a 'mon I don't know very well I don't feel too bad about it, but I would have felt much worse to realize later that I released it without even noticing haha

one of the first raids I did (on the first day of the game being public) was against a shiny ralts. That shiny Gardevoir has gone through the entire rest of the story with me

I got my first shiny of the game in a random tera den! Didn’t know how crazy lucky that was until after I had caught it and moved on.
You got extremely lucky to find a shiny Pokémon in a random Terra Den! Shiny Pokémon are colour variations of regular Pokémon that differ from the standard versions of the species. It's always exciting to come across a shiny Pokémon, especially if it happens unexpectedly, because they're usually quite rare. Finding a shiny Pokémon can be a difficult and time-consuming process, so it's fantastic that you found one so early in your game. I hope this fortunate encounter has set the tone for your Pokémon journey and that you continue to find shiny Pokémon. Best wishes for your gaming adventures!
I always drop everything when I see a upload from the goat himself. All this information has been incredibly helpful and the videos are always a big help and well put together!

I got a Clawitzer 6* raid as my first. Never had one in SnS and I was so happy.
I didn't know you could go back to the day of the find to respawn a raid!
I spent 6+ hours resetting and giving out 6IV Dittos the other day and figured once the day was over it was over...but now I gotta remember what day I had it set at 😅
Another thing to note, you can change the time back and keep the same date (not necessarily the same time) to maintain your outbreaks as long as you close your game in between and auto saves are off. I’ve been doing this for the past week with a few outbreaks. Even if I forget to change my clock back before opening the game I close the game then change the date back and reopen. Not sure if it works for these dens (not including the promoted event raids AJ mentioned) also but might be helpful to someone😊

I found a shiny Rotom yesterday while I was soloing 5-star raids. I was so confused because I didn't see any animation/hear stars or get a good look at it, and it was a bit harder to tell with the tera crystal effect, but I knew what shiny Rotom looks like and I could swear it was redder/orangier than it should be and I was kind of just squinting at it the whole time I was fighting it.
I feel both lucky and unlucky at the same time. My first shiny raid was an Eevee during the limited event. Ty for the video and keeping this in mind

I did a Corviknjght den and because of the terastalization, it looked like it’s shiny and I got excited haha. It was just a regular one 😅
absolutely crazy coincidence that i saw this video in my notifications and found a shiny Honchkrow in an online tera raid soon after! It’s a fairy tera type so i was constantly doubting if i was tricking myself with the pink crystals but alas, it is neon magenta! I called her Princess :D

I found a shiny mimikyuu in a 5 star Tera raid den while trying to unlock 6 stars, I didn’t notice that it was shiny until after I caught it 😅
My first shiny in violet was a pawniard. Got him in a luxury ball and he was found with the adamant nature 😎. My best shiny find ever. I love this shiny kingambit.
Same, tho pawniard is my fave in the line so keeping him like that
The last shiny founded are one iron valiant (modest) and three iron bundle (one timid😍)

I was able to catch a shiny annihilape from a tera raid. I had no idea it was shiny until a couple days later while going through my box😅
It's ok. I'm sure nobody would blame you. Most of the gen 9 shinies suck because they dont change anything.
I found the functionality online raiding awesome, very rarely you will run into a troll who runs healing wish and is literally there to ruin the raid. Easily spotted though, just don't smash A to start the raid when people join instead wait for them to ready their Pokémon and if it's ok by your standards you can start the raid or if it's a troll just disband and re invite.
Watched this video yesterday, got home and my second Tera raid I didn’t notice until after but got a shiny mankey! Of course didn’t have a hard save with auto save off so couldn’t share it but pleasant surprise! Thanks for all the super informative vids 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Unless I am mistaken you actually *are* able to rewind time to preserve raids and outbreaks. Like how Porto Marinada's auctions work, you need to close the game after saving *before* you change the time, and it can only be for the same day (no date change). Please correct me if I'm wrong. I was doing 5 Star Tera Raids for the first time, so I joined one and it ended up being a shiny. It was too strong for me to challenge alone so I lost it and was very upset.
You might have been able to run from it, save, go online for backup, and then try. Sorry you lost it!

I got a shiny Noibat in a Tera raid battle so I’m now building a team around it
i was catching every terra pokemon in the wild i could find. i ran into the floette right above levincia and when i caught it, i noticed it was shiny. i had no clue because there was no animation and i couldnt see its slight color change as the crystal texture stopped me from noticing. im just glad i decided to catch it instead of killing it

I am a math teacher, and thanks to you, I been able to find so many shiny pokemon that I use to motivate my struggling students. If they improve their grades to at least B’s, they get a shiny paradox!

Easily the best channel for Pokémon content.
The one thing I hate about the raids is that literally EVERY text box wastes time. If you have any status effect it will need to remind you every turn and it wastes time. It's even more annoying when there are multiple effects that cause text to appear like held items or the enemy having a status effect.

I genuinely did not think could find shinies in raids side from events and hacked mons ftom swsh, but I found my shiny goodra and a frigibax in the tera raids so now I always check as many as i can
I got a shiny Axew in a raid, but I didn't realise it was shiny until the catching animation, and I hadn't saved in a little while since the date rolled over so I wasn't able to preserve it :(
So yay I got the rare thing, but I wasn't able to make the most of it.
