I love how happy it makes him too lmao, it makes me happy too I love it. It's one of my favorite parts too to see him whack the brush around with a huge grin on his face. You can really tell how much he enjoys every aspect of what he does and he is so wholesome. Truly just one of the most wholesome human beings to walk the Earth, I can't imagine him ever being mad or upset, I mean I know he is still human and I'm sure he gets emotional sometimes as well, but he is just so damn positive that I feel like it's still not too often. And painting and going out into nature contributes to that for sure, dude was living out his dreams and got to do what he loves for a very, very long time. Truly inspiring, we all miss you Bob!

Just came home from running errands and noticed the sky directly in front of me was pthalo blue but the distant sky was a soft Prussian blue. And dancing all around were happy little clouds.

Yes, I'm starting to clue into Bob's colors, too! In the last "Campfire" episode, when he was adding tree trunks to the painted background, I suddenly realized that the colors of forest fires are alizarin crimson and cad yellow... I'll never be able to watch a news report on forest fires without thinking of those two colors from now on. 😺💕🐾
I'm grateful to know that people like Bob Ross existed/exist. Just like Fred Rogers. I hope future generations will have their own versions, and many of them.

And you cannot capture that beauty in a painting, because every little bush is unique. So you have to create your own beautiful bushes.
I always wait for him to say "beat the devil out of him" but even when he doesn't say so, his smile while cleaning the brush makes me smile.
Limited time can be so stressful. He's so talented, he talks, paints and keeping an eye on the time. Always making sure he end exactly on time.
Actually when he's looking to the right, he has a painting already done and uses it for reference to the painting he's doing now. It's how he's able to complete it in less than a half hour.
It’s my understanding he painted 3 of every painting he did for PBS, & would choose the best to televise. Makes sense & that certainly helped him go quicker
Razors Edg3. Wrong! No he didn’t. My dad worked in the studio that taped his shows in Indiana. When he looked off camera he was looking at a clock to see how much time he had left. He did paint scenes in advance of the actual tapings to determine how much detail he could go into for a particular scene in the allotted time, but he was not painting from a reference copy when shooting an episode in the studio. Not sure who told you that, but whomever it was they are talking out their ass and just making stuff up.

Last two comments above me are complete rubbish. Bob Ross’ family literally admitted he had a painting out of sight to use as a reference. No one is talking out of their ass, and no one is making stuff up.

it looks easy, but is not. one has to practice this technique to get the same effects. This is a nice way to learn how to paint. I am practicing Mr. Ross. Thank you and the people that uploaded the videos to share with the rest of us. You certainly left this world more beautiful and helped others. Not too many people can say they left a legacy of beauty and are helping other after they have passed away.
Thats whats so amazing about bob. Even after passing away, people still watch his videos to practice painting, that is if they’re motivated or not haha
In all 30+ years of Bob painting for us, he did not do a lot of pictures of cabins, barns or water wheels.
But Bob did say in an earlier episode, "I'm trying to show you the different techniques you can use to create your own designs and images."

Just WOW! Although I do not do hand painting like this. I have learned quite a bit about colors with Digital art from Bob Ross. I wish Boss Ross had a Joy Of Photoshop.

everytime he says something about time...i remember he's gone...i forget while i'm listening to him...he was great....in many ways...
I didn’t see him using thinner, but he can always layers the paint and brushed through the pictures like he didn’t do wet on wet. The pictures always came out so perfect. So genius🤩
So, these episodes are before the brush "beat the devil out of it" fun was born.

the nice thing about Bob is that he knew that rivers and lakes need to have bushes and trees at the water's edge. Otherwise this water turns dead.

If you look closely, you can see that a narrow portion of the right side of the painting was copied to extend it a bit further during the credits. It's most noticeable in his signature because part of the last red 's' got copied along with it.
