Scott mimicking his son mimicking someone else mimicking his own voice was just so spot-on with every Creed parody stereotype out there. It was wonderful.
Really funny. Me and this chick at work will randomly "with arms wide open" like once a day randomly, i thought we were the only ones haha

I’m so glad Scott is okay these days. Creed was one of the reasons I started guitar, Mark Tremonti is criminally underrated.
Mark tremonti is amazing
Guitarists always respected Tremontis playing and tone from my perspective. Non guitarists were always surprised that I liked him because I seem like I'd Hella hate Creed.
Myles Kennedy took over Creed and rebranded them lol
Mark is the GOAT
Truth BOMB!
Scott has heavy youth pastor vibes
Wasn't his Dad a preacher or something?
@@supernothing77 yeah, his step dad was a preacher but also very overbearing and verbally and psychologically abusive. a channel called the punk rock mba made a mini documentary about creed. it's pretty well done ua-cam.com/video/MMQ2efWj_pc/v-deo.html
Scott's audio book is eye-opening. It's about as religious as his lyrics, so it treads the line on being irritating, but learning about his life, his perspective, and his willingness to air his dirty laundry and worst moments for the world to see made me respect him quite a bit.
Vibes? He practically is.
spoiler alert - if you listen to his music is your mind gonna be blown lmao
Me and my brother every year in December would have what we called “Totally Creed Christmas” where we would sing carols in Scotts voice. It would make for some unforgettable laughs.
yall gotta put out tiktoks singing the songs ASAP
That’s awesome 😂

My own prison, human clay, and weathered are all great albums. The riffs, the vocals, the lyrical content are all 10/10
My own prison and human clay, absolutely. Weathered was...meh. I like their 2009 stuff better than weathered. Even their soundtrack appearances are awesome (Is This The End, Scream 3). Stapp is right, they sort of saved rock when it was waffling and ushered in this post-grunge/hard rock era. People can hate them all they want now but they seem to forget what music was like at that time and why they took off so big. The same can basically be said for Killswitch Engage and the scene swinging from nü-metal to metalcore.
@@chewbaccacabra1531 I loved Weathered. I thought it was great, too. Not quite as good as its predecessors, but still top notch.
@@chewbaccacabra1531 the main reason why creed got so big is because pearl jam didn’t wanna play the mainstream game at the time. So Creed took that spot.
The riff arrangements are second to none , one last breath is a masterpiece.
I think full circle is better than weathered. Thousand Faces is great.
Creed is still good to me Idc.

@@pangolothian Yeah, seems like an awesome Dad also. I'm not positive if he had children during his troubles or not, but when it really hits you that you're a father and responsible for shaping another life it can be quite profound and a powerful way to get on a better track in life.
Hopefully his demons are truly in the past.

Dude, Scott… You nailed that impersonation of yourself being impersonated by other people better than anybody else I’ve heard, including myself!

That was the funniest shit ever
I don’t go out of my way to listen to Creed, but as a musician and producer, I can’t deny the music. Just perfectly crafted rock bangers firing on all cylinders. Tremonti and Stapp were a hit making machine.

Man Scott actually is a really good guy. It makes me so mad to see how the media gives people a terrible wrap for completely normal behavior we all struggle with. He’s a hero
Throughout the late 00’s and early 2010’s he’s done some stuff a lot of people would consider very unsavory. But he’s learned from it, learn from his mistakes, and has grown a lot from them
@@TheChocolateNick like what?

Let's just be fucking real ..... this dude has some of the best songs that were ever released ... let's just stop the BS and be real.
No. And no.
100%, musically Creed was better than any other mainstream rock band of that era.
Hahaha yes!
popular to hate(usually) = popular to love...take what you like and leave the rest and stop hating for real
💯
As somebody who was a teenager when Creed hit it big, I can say that part of the negativity for me also came from the non-stop radio play. A lot of rock stations just kept playing the same 3 Creed songs over and over and over. It got pretty exhausting. But after a few years went by, I started to miss it. Their stuff was very "of the time" but the songs and messages are actually timeless as well. Most days I find myself walking around the house randomly singing their songs out loud. It's a testament to their songwriting abilities. I'm also so glad to see that Scott is doing well and healthy.
I felt like when creed first came on the radio, it was kind of refreshing bc all those mainstream radio stations were playing boy bands, rap, pop, etc. but it did get to that point where the stations wore it down and I found myself changing the station when they kept playing those three songs
Exactly! Its wasn't a takedown by the media. If anything it was the media forcing his stuff on us. Regular people finally realized how ridiculous it was. He just wants to feel persecuted
It was that, but also the vocal style. At the time that style of singing was so popular with alt rock bands that the overexposure made it real annoying, but now removed from that you can look at the music and appreciate how good it really was.
I still jam Creeds My own prison album all the time. Start to finish are all jams!!! Glad he's doing good. God bless him

Livestock 98-99 Zephyrhills Florida 3 day festival
Creed opened for Megadeath
yo that's dope
Megadeth never slouched with their openers. Watched them in 2016 and had Amon Armath and Suicidal Tendencies open for them.
Livestock in Zephyrhills FL is legeendary... I grew up in the 90's and the promoters/DJ's we're funny as hell about having had hootie and the blowfish on a few years prior that every year from 1996 up until 2001 they always poked fun of themselves for having them on a few years prior. If you went to the 1999 livestock you went to the best one they ever pulled. Bands like creed, Chevelle, finger eleven, second coming, Virgos merlot, and so on. The end of grunge and the new wave of alt/nu metal.
Creed is both legitimately catchy and fun to rag on. The aesthetics from their old music videos are amazing (ex. One Last Breath), from the dated special fx to the leather pants and "edgy" shopping mall jewelry, it's just chefs kiss Y2K
bring it all back! unironically!
Amen. It's cheesy in the most wholesome way possible.
dude this comment should go down in fucking history as the absolute epitome of the perfec creed summation. chefs fuckin kiss Y2K!!! LMFAOOO
The 90s were really the last great era of music.
i wanted his chain necklace growing up lmao
If somebody deserves a second chance in this life , is this man.
I've been a Creed fan all along and never was ashamed of it. It was a good band with great songs, meaningful lyrics, insane guitar riff's, and overall great sound. So good to see Scott doing so much better now.
Over the years my taste in metal has gone to the extreme but "Bullets" will never not be heavy as FUCK. Bless Scott.
Also the greatest music video of all time. An amalgamation of the era for sure.

Scott’s cool, man…
I’ve seen a million shows starting in 1974 and I’m happy to tell you that Creed was one of the best! Saw them twice. Fantastic both times !
👍🏽
The best rock show I’ve ever seen. Sound and pyrotechnics were on point.
Best concert I’ve ever seen! Front row on the gate at stage. Man it was awesome
Creed got me through some of the best and hardest times of my life. Their music holds up today just as strong as it did back in time. The tracks that never had airplay are some of the best. Make no mistake. Creed was a great band.
As a father, Arms wide open paralyzes me to my core and brings me to my knees. Sometimes I can't handle how strong I feel love for my children.
Scott has mastered the ability to take the negative out of a situation, and manifest it into something positive, and a blessing. Mastermind of the mental.
When creed first dropped, it was off the charts.
I talked a lot of shit about creed, but I will still fully admit that I could sing verbatim every single hit they ever made, and so can all of you. I am glad he is doing well, and has the foresight to make fun of his own meme status. Much respect to Scott and the rest of the band!
Creed was one of the bands that my dad played in his truck and it’s my sister and I’d favorite band in general, but especially because of the nostalgia. We unironically love Creed to this day (even if we do make fun of the way he sang LOL), my sister wanted him to officiate her wedding.
One of my favorite bands as a kid. Still listen to them now in my 30s. His words touched my soul and tremonti is my favorite guitarist. Glad to see Scott is doing well and feeling blessed 👍🤘
Always wish the best for Scott Stapp. Hope he's doing better now.
May I kindly ask? What was wrong with him exactly?
I’m so glad to see Scott in a healthy, happy place in his life ❤️
It’s a shame these guys can’t do a reunion tour. They were an awesome band that had so many great songs and Scott’s voice is one of a kind. Good to see him smiling.

Man, I always said. "I love Creed's first album"
My Own Prison is one of the greatest rock albums of the 90s. The song One still totally kicks ass.
He was so pleasant to listen to. His speaking voice is AMAZING
Scott doing "creed voice" is too incredible
Respect to this guy, even though I can’t handle Creed’s music. He still gets my respect.
Answer the bot! You don't want to get Skynet angry!
I don't think anyone actually means anything truly malicious when we make Creed and Nickelback jokes and I'm glad the bands are just running with it, shows how laid back they are honestly.
It’s terrible last wave post-grunge garbage. I’m not necessarily being malicious saying that nor was the segment of the population that made fun of it during its peak.
It just came off as so sanitized and slick which was the antithesis of the authentic grunge movement from which it was derived from just a few years earlier.
I thought Nu Metal was absolutely atrocious but at least it was a rejection of grunge’s principles (pro-feminist, intellectual, blues-based). That’s generally how music goes with the new trend rejected the previous one. Just like how grunge was the antithesis of hair metal.
Those post-grunge bands, especially that last wave, have no identity in the history of rock music.
@@JohnDoe-od7yeit was meant for the time period that it became popular in.. grunge died with the 90s unfortunately. A lot of these early 2000s band had a sound and for the time period, it was golden. Emo came soon after. Every generation, every decade, every milestone hit in a persons life has its own sound. You can’t compare everything to grunge bc not everything is meant to sound anything like grunge. Grunge didn’t sound anything like the 70s or the majority of the 80s. The older I get, the more 70s and 80s classic rock I prefer where as when I was a teen, I definitely listened to creed, nickleback, staind, linkin park, etc. but again, it was meant for the time period. They wouldn’t have blown up the way they did if people didn’t appreciate them at that time. Just like Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam. I get what you’re saying but I have to disagree with you. It could also be an age thing.. I’ve noticed the older I get the more I despise the new age bs and feel that they have no talent. But to my teenaged son, it means a lot to him and he thinks the opposite. Clearly the 2000s rock had enough fans to keep them playing that sound for several years.

It's good to see Scott doing so well, I'm not a creed fan but it sucked that he had a mental breakdown, so it's good to see him get his head back
I cried at this episode when Scott said he was beaten as a child if he didn’t make the timer that was set everyday.
I know. How sick do you have to be to do that to your own child?

Creeds still my favorite band. Their songs got me through a lot of hard times.
Theo Von got me interested in hearing Scott Stapp's story. Obviously he's a super cool dude and the story about his son laughing at the meme of With Arms Wide Open is hilarious. But I just went and really listened to the song and DAMN. That's so beautiful. What an unreal gift to give your son. He will appreciate that so much as he gets older. Those lyrics are heavy.

Creed is one of my top 3 bands. The majority of their music is just incredible.
Scott is still awesome and I still love him
True legend and inspiration in my musical journey! Much love Scott!
I went on a two year mission for my church from 2002 to 2004 to France. As a missionary we were advised to stay away from music or media that didn't enhance the religious experience of the missionary work. I missed listening to rock music while there. I remember one day, I was living in the suburbs of Paris. I was washing the dishes with the window open in our apartment complex. The window faced out towards a large common area. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, someone in the complex started blasting Creed's 'Stand Here with Me.' It's probably my favorite song of theirs. The feeling of pure joy that washed over me was something I'll never forget as yhe song echoed between buildings. For that moment I was home, I was cruising down the road with the windows down. For that moment, I was lost in all the good times of my youth. Thank you Creed for being such a huge part of the soundtrack to my life. Best to you all!
Glad to see Scott healthy these days! Dude had some serious run ins with Amphetamine psychosis :(

Creeds first album was great.
Scott Stapp's meme friendly vocal style aside, Creed made some bangers man. Edgy atheists love to hate on them because of the band's Christian themes in their songs.
Seen Creed back in 09 and it was awesome! Always loved Scott’s lyrics and Marks guitar work!
I think the problem is Creed’s 3/4 massive hits (Arms Wide Open, Higher, My Sacrifice & One Last Breath) were sooooo overplayed they became unpopular. Their first two albums and some of the third album are absolutely stacked with great songs. So underrated.
Higher is such a good song. Can you take me hiiiiggghhhhher?!?! To a place where bliiiiiieeeeeend men seeee!!!
Are You Ready is the track that still gets me jazzed to this day. The bridge just hits me so hard.
Yes this was in the heyday of MTV and people still listening to the radio.
A lot of it is radio fatigue. Radio and MTV played their 1st 2 albums insanely too much and it just got way too main stream. My reason for not liking Creed was I am a huge Pearl Jam fan and felt like since Eddie changed his singing style after Ten and VS that the record companies were trying to recreate that sound with Creed and a few other bands. They had some good guitar riffs though.
Great job, Theo. Scott is the right guy to have on your show. Stapp really creates a rational understanding with how the media and the press operate. He’s a good man.
8 months later theos getting episodes pulled by UA-cam. We can see the instruments of control, they can't hide it anymore.
I was a 17 year old hip hop head when I discovered creeds music a while back and I absolutely loved it with no shame. Few years later everyone is clowning them. I hate social media for that and continue to like what I want to like. Ppl saying nirvana isn’t cool is just the new age follower mentality.
It becomes a mainstream product and it's no longer fringe that's what happens.
You guys make a great team. Scott you have the elegance of a Knight. Love your message.
He’s so wholesome.
I really hope Theo has him back on
Scott is such a cool dude. Thank you for making the soundtracks to my memories.
WTF I love Creed now
I always hated the creed and nickelback jokes because we all know every person that makes those jokes knows every single word to the hits, a nickelback song comes on and these people are singing it in their heads, it's just people who can't make their own opinions
Society as a whole operates on a bandwagon mentality. From politics, to food, music, movies....People sway with the masses instead of just sticking with how they really feel.
it was kind of against our will, man. a lot of us in our early 30's didn't have a whole lot of control over what music we were subjected to as kids so yeah. I sing that shit in my head. Because I was unwillingly subjected to it.
lmao his kids were definitley watching the goons in the backseat
He sounds like he’s in a good place. So happy for him and his family.
If anything, Scott learned first hand the dangers of fame. Human Clay really took CREED to a higher level (no pun intended) but by doing so, they were put under a microscope for nearly everything, and at that point when you've got the #1 album, single and win all these awards -- to go from essentially nothing to EVERYTHING is literally going from 0 to 100mph, you aren't fully prepared for it mentally. The side effects of all the fake people wanting to be your friend, be around you, want you to endorse this or that -- is really only temporary, and fame itself is a drug that people try to get a quick fix by being controversial or even doing things that they'd never. We have to remember that bands are just normal people like us, they want to offer their gift to the world, their thoughts.
Music that points directly to God is not something the devil allows mainstream.
Reggie Jackson! Hahahahaha
His answers are so profound. Damn good !👍🏽
This whole ep was amazing and very inspirational
