IMO, many companies are avoiding getting in too early. Too early in the Phone game would have created features that became blockers in the progression of the iPhone. There will always be issues but it is amazing how long the iPhone has iterated forward. Early creators have a higher risk when their solution is pushed to production as a technology leader.
The development of VR glass/headset is the next generation of AR glass. more tech involve, will giving it lighter and lighter and thiner. By that time. Adding a shutter frame or electron transition frame or a black magnet sunglass frame. Can transfer into VR or take off become AR glasses. Because they both different is the "total black or non total black". Human will discover and make it work after few years time

Higher fov on a mobile chip currently is damn near impossible. Maybe 2035 that changes. Apple may have a leg up using a laptop chip, but it may need severe throttling to manage heat and power consumption, so don't get your hopes up.
Yeah miniaturization is key here no one wants a clunky heavy headset on their head all day long. Another key component is providing comfort as is the case with how does it make your eyes feel. Is AR glasses a device that'll provides just entertainment or will it do things that a normal PC does by generating tangible output to enhance our lives. Examples; if I want to make a zoom call, can AR glasses make zoom calls fabulously convenient and effective?
Most mobile companies have AR/VR comming out at the end of this year, the tech had a big boom 3 years ago (latest android phones can now do raytracing and even have raytracing cores), Apples AR/VR was held back due to the increase in A.I, no doubt they are upgrading theirs before release.
Unless you have a beak for a nose, having a nose cutout extended that far from the face is plain ugly and awkward. At that distance, it should just be a simple rectangle with no cutout.
I can imagine many ways this is useful as a consumer. I bought the Nreal Air glasses and they're already pretty good. Great for if you're on an airplane and want to work or watch a movie as well. I watched the whole LoTR trilogy on them on my last flight.
I love my nreal airs.. I use them for Pc sometimes and mirror my iphone at night in bed and when i am in a plane.. Feel good enough on the face that they don't bother me

Until the day arrives that the "Glasses" element of the design is not purely there to hide the fact you have a headset on I'll be giving these a pass. Nobody has really made any advancements on these things sitting way out in front of your face. As you said until they look like real glasses they are gonna look weird.
Currently teamed up with Google and working on a pair. All of big tech is shifting this way, tho it won't be legit mass adoption until some time in the mid '30s.
It looks strange... The public would never go for it... Apple won't bring AR glasses to market until they can refine the form into something non-tech geeks would wear. They will bring out a VR/AR headset marketed for pro users, not general consumption... Apple understands wearables, Xiaomi doesn't, at least not for the US culture. Xiaomi doesn't even have a presence in the US market, they have to partner with a US vendor like they did with Oculus for the Go.
Looking at the latest chunky Apple vision pro, I can see how well Apple understands wearables, perhaps meant for Americans. 😂 I'm pretty sure it doesn't look strange for fanboys as long as it has Apple label on it. Xiaomi makes and sells tons of wearables in China and still make better looking smart watches than Apple. Xiaomi intentionally didn't bring their products to US, they don't need to since they are selling well in Asia.
iirc apple wasn't going for clunky, this aint it chief. tech isn't there yet so its been delayed indefinitely. I'd rather have a slim headset than "glasses"
I would rather they make them thicker & hide the tech cause I just rather not see the layers. The mistake they’re making is that they want to keep these things look like glasses & that’s not the way to go.
If you want to know wat is the real future of virtual reality, I will tell you! If we live long enough we will see the merge of AI and VR directly in our bodies , but not as an implant! The maximum that we can reach is modifying our genetics to be able to: -rearrange the function every cell in our body so it serves the purpose we want at any given time -be able to absorb materials that are needed to build a biological machine inside us so it can be in use according to our needs -be immortal as far as age and diseases are the reason we die So if we can get that ability, we will be able to have input and output, build a connection to a super computer naturally and even have our whole mind stored for backup if something destroys our body, so we can reset and live forever :)
