I just tried my son’s xreal glasses last night with my Steam Deck and they were pretty amazing! Much more light weight than I expected and very crisp and clear! Great review thx!
I bought the Xreal AR2 glasses. I liked them so much I returned them and purchased the AR2 Pro glasses. I love that dimming feature and use it all the time. Much easier than popping the blackouts on and off the glasses. I love the glasses so much, that I am seriously considering buying a Steam Deck, which seems to me like a mini Xbox! Time to start watching UA-cam videos about that device…
Glad to see you catch us up on these glasses Patrick. I bought the Xreal AR2 glasses. They were so good I returned them! And then bought the Xreal PRO AR2 glasses. These are incredible. The vision, the clarity, all of it is amazing. Now…don’t forget to buy the Xreal BEAM device to accompany them. You WANT to increase that screen to 330 inches…or my favorite, enable distance, and bring that huge screen CLOSER to you. That makes the screen incredibly large, like an IMAX. They are just incredible. Remember, buy the BEAM device. Without it, you are losing about half of the massive advantage that these glasses offer.
Hi! One note - Xreal recently updated the Air's firmware so sound works with normal HDMI adaptors! There's a button-press to switch between HDMI-audio and USB-audio. (Hold down volume- for 3 seconds!)
To be honest I’ve just watched Apple’s presentation about their new AR headset @ $3500 and god for 1/10th of the price I feel like those glasses are better in a lot of way ; -Form Factor -Battery Management (The battery is your phone , on Apple’s headset the battery is at *most* 2 hours) -Price -Compatibility -Future Proof (as the hardware is your phone / external devices , thus you’ll never lack power) I just feel like this format of AR is pretty much the perfect spot for now. I’m also located in Belgium but I’ll soon travel to USA , will prolly get one of those at the same time. Good presentation.
besides this is much more comfortable to wear for extended periods, I don't think I want that Apple contraption around my head for more than 30 minutes.
I’ve been into these for a while now, I had an idea for an interactive AR app that I think will be pretty cool. I will just say it and I can’t really copyright it because I don’t know if it’s being done already. But if not just remember That CodenameG thought of this on June10th 2023😅. Turning comics into AR, now if you know about Webtoons it’s all about scrolling down to see the next panel and normal comics you read each page and work with the art to imagine how it would play out. This would take the panels and animate them to play out what we normally have to imagine. It’s taking the orignal concept and making it 3D, I’d want it to be like you open the comic and the character jump out at you and follow the panel sequence. The reading element will still be there and you can set a speed to read it at or manually turn the pages to see the next scene. It’s a hard concept to execute I think and it will need tinkering but I think it’s a good idea.
Thank you for your review Patrick. It helped me to understand some points I wasn't clear looking at their website. An excellent excuse to get it for my birthday.
I'm glad you brought up the nausea issue. I've tried VR glasses and the experience was unpleasant -- I had no idea it may have been caused by flicker. Do you know how these AR glasses work for people like me who wear corrective lenses?
I realy love my xreal air glasses, worth to have one and price is very ok, the image is so clear and vibrant, i not expected to be so good before to get it...

I recently purchased AR glasses (XREAL Air AR Smart Glasses, Formerly Nreal with Massive 201") for my research, and I'm looking for a compatible Android tablet to enhance the experience. Since I use an iPhone 12 and can't use the Nebula app, I'm planning to buy an Android tablet or mobile device specifically for that purpose. Any recommendations for the best-fit Android tablet or mobile device to pair with AR glasses?

I've seen many reviews, but you're the first that has mentioned the adjustable arms. Great review. Thanks Patrick.. I am holding off on purchasing these though because they still look dorky to me as the lenses are still far from your face, so the glasses don't sit right as normal wayfarers do. The field of view is only 70% or so, so there's much to be desired in terms of immersive experience. I do really want them, especially with the Nebula app giving you expanded screen integration. Still, if there's anything that being an early adopter has taught me, it's to wait for v2. For Nebula to shine, more resolution is needed for text sharpness.
Combine that with smartphone /tablet like surface pro and cloud gaming and external battery you can add to belt with vr joystick and other accessories like vr sutit , gloves ,helmet or threadmill
I ordered the Air glasses and adapter. Is there anything else I need to connect it to my PS5 or iPhone? I have the Apple Adapter and of course HDMI cables and such for my PS5. Is it really that simple?
I just got my xreal a couple days ago to Indonesia. And i still can connect xreal from usb-c to windows PC using wired connection. But, with wireless connection its works. any solution i have?
@9:30 the reaction of the other guy walking - he is like WTF, is this guy blind and using a iPad? This would rock for productivity during travel, to have all that screen real estate in the palm of your hand... I would totally buy this, however I would want to try it out first. Unfortunately there is no place to test drive these.
I will never do business with Rokid. I ordered and waited 3 months. I emailed them over and over. Then they say it's shipping. Never ships I email them again. Nothing. Then I emailed them saying I wanted a refund, and then they responded and gave me a refund. Countless people with the same issue or getting broken/non functional glasses. They have terrible customer service.
I wonder if this has a setting to add multiple screens so that it would feel like there are 2 or 3 extra monitors in front of you that are connected to your computer or laptop. That would be a productivity game changer. No more multiple monitors, just a pair of these 😁
@@Gatitasecsii They do work on Windows. In fact I'm writing this comment on my Air set connected to my laptop. Once you connect them to the computer, they automatically install the driver & connect as an additional display.
It’s compatible but the features are neutered compared to android OS, on top of that you need an adapter that individual needs to be charged and both the phone and glasses need to be plugged into this adapter, you also need the apple lighting to hdmi adapter to connect the iPhone to that adapter. Fortunately there’s a solution but only available for pre order, as it only recently appeared. It’s a new adapter that’s called the Xreal beam, this will give that compatibility we need for iPhone users. In conclusion, at the time of this comment, the Xreal glasses are a super cool piece of tech, but are just awful and inconvenient to use in my opinion and with iPhone OS.

@David that's what apple is banking on tax season. Vsion pro brings entertainment and productivity together definitely is a magnificent device but my goodness $3,499 that's way out of my reach.
Do you feel this would be a good accessory for a productivity experience for work on the iPad Pro for example. I could see being in a hotel or airplane with these and not having to bring an external monitor. I am shocked how reasonably priced. If they would increase productivity. They could pay for themselves quickly. Just like any new product. I am sure the technology will grow exponentially over the next couple years. I would love to try them.
Would be cool to get an updated review on this product when the Xreal Beam device is available , which will make such a huge difference when using it. Universal compatibility to any device ( Any Smartphone / Laptop/ Desktop PC / Playstation / XBox / Nintendo Switch / Steamdeck / etc. ) and 3 different view modes will make the screen smoother in moves or simply fix the position or just reduce the size and put he screen to a corner, so that the surroundings can be seen better ( for example when using it as a head up display for navigation )
I suffer from neck pain due to phone usage and need to get physical therapy. I use twitter and reddit a lot which is my main problem. Is there any way to use text-based websites that require scrolling comfortably with these? If possible, it would help my posture. But if it is uncomfortable, probably wouldnt end up using them…
One question: Are these glasses compatible with flip phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G?? I want to buy these glasses to give them a whirl, but im not gonna spend the cash if they dont work for what i got.
How do multiple virtual displays on M1 / M2 work in conjunction with Wacom graphic tablet? Are they registered as proper external displays that Wacom can use
Depends. With the nebula app you can choose, so the image van stay put like it has its own spot in the air. Without the nebula app, the image is just a huge mirror of your screen and moves with your head.
The issue currently is that there is such a limited compatible phones and no windows.. it will give you the 1 static screen, but no augmented or multiple views.
How do you edit the screen capture at an angle like that?? I’m trying to do that to show the screen moves with the head but the overlay just stays flat
Depends on the editing software you use. In final cut I use the distort tool to shape it how I want. Edit : to have it move with the head, I add a tracker.
They just released a new gadget that gives 100% compatibility with all phones and consoles, even the Switch, without having to use a HDMI cable.. Just glasses-> gadget -> switch/android/iphone/mac/pc/whatever..
Does anyone know if I could play Genshin Impact from my phone with the XReal glasses? That would make buy them lol I at least know Genshin WILL come to switch eventually, but I don't wanna buy these and then wait for it
Do they work on their own? It would be nice to just watch movies on it all in one device. Im still really interested to get it and pair it with my phone but it'd be nice
@@PatrickRambles damn. Well I heard they have a wireless connection so maybe I'll get a USB power raspberry pi and use that to stream media to the glasses
It's hard for me to hear the name of the adapters you need for this in your video... probably it's my hearing. But can you comment here which adapters can be used to connect to the iphone, and what the connector is that is used in concert with the nreal adapter? I though initially you could only use this with an android phone or a macbook, but I see that you can use this with the Switch, the Iphone, and the PS 5 in addition to Xbox XS series My husband loves gaming and it sounds like if it's affordable, it may be something he would actually use if I can afford this for him. Heck , I want to use it too! But it's his BD coming up, so I really want to surprise him! I sure hope he can use this with his glasses though, because they have very thick lense. PS . I think you did an awesome job of making it look like we could see what you were seeing
@@PatrickRambles Ahh damn, I really love the idea of using them with my Steam deck/Switch/PC/iPad/iPhone/Android tablet/PS5/Xbox/etc... But really doubting if it's what I expect it to be... They say it's just like you have an 130" screen in front of you.... What will that do with the sharpness of the games, for example an 1080p on a 4K screen is douable, but on a that size of screen I can imagine you can count pixels, even more because it's that in front of you... I really would love to try, maybe you can help me get in contact with Xreal?
hmm... well the prescription lense frames don't look like they would work for my husband's prescription since his HAVE to be really thick... so I am guessing you can't wear normal glasses underneath. That is probably going to rule out getting this for him as a gift :(
Oh no, what a bummer. I'm not sure about the prescription part, it could be worth reaching out to Nreal to see what the range is on their prescription lenses.
App compatability is bad . I have a samsung galaxy S9 and cant use the Nebula app. Plus , there is no hook up to a standard USB port for these , just a Type C to Type C cable. Most Laptops dont have a type C port.
Which laptops are you using that don't have a usb c port in 2023? I do agree that app compatibility leaves something to be desired. It's definitely a work in progress.
@@PatrickRambles Luckily my LG laptop does have it. However , dont want it near my head while using glasses. Dont know if an extension TYPE C cable would work or if just a longer one would work with these glasses . Had to upgrade my phone as welll and I am on a waiting list for the Beam.
They have one shipping later this month. It's called the Beam and it charges as well as allows 6 DOF for any device thus removing the nausea from the fixed screens. Just pre-ordered one!
Haha yeah they do. I haven't tested the Rokid so I can't really speak on that, but it's the comparison everybody makes so I assume they will.be quite similar.
Speakers are quite unnecessary. Everyone’s going to use them with their headphones. They have to fix the problem of cables and adapters. It’s way too many things to connect this to an iPhone.

How do multiple virtual displays on M1 / M2 work in conjunction with Wacom graphic tablet? Are they registered as proper external displays that Wacom can use
Multiple displays only work on Mac, not on iPad (yet). No idea re the Wacom question, I've never used a Wacom tablet.
Wow! These looks really good!!! I wouldn’t mind trying these out :)
They really are awesome!
Is it possible to pair two glasses to a ps5 or tv
I don't think so.
lol the guy staring at you in the cafe.
Hilarious. Imagine my surprise when I watched back the recording 😂
Is there a way to charge your phone with it plugged in?
Wireless charging is fine
Is the image static? Is it locked to your head?
Depends. With the nebula app you can choose, so the image van stay put like it has its own spot in the air. Without the nebula app, the image is just a huge mirror of your screen and moves with your head.
I wonder how good these are compared to the apple vision pro ofc they vision pro is a lot more ofc but just curious
Yeah I think we are all curious about that :)
Planning to buy also but can i ask if this will work with the ipad mini 6?
Yes it does :) all iPads with usb c
The issue currently is that there is such a limited compatible phones and no windows.. it will give you the 1 static screen, but no augmented or multiple views.
Yes the software is very much under development.
This is 10 times better than Apple's
That shit laggy af. Gtfo. Vision pro way better
Great video ❤
Thanks!
How do you edit the screen capture at an angle like that?? I’m trying to do that to show the screen moves with the head but the overlay just stays flat
Depends on the editing software you use. In final cut I use the distort tool to shape it how I want. Edit : to have it move with the head, I add a tracker.
does it lag that much?
What do you mean
Amazon link is no longer any good. It says it is “ currently unavailable” When you follow the link you provided.
No they don't have built in system, that would inevitably make the glasses much bigger. You need a device to run them.
@@PatrickRambles damn. Well I heard they have a wireless connection so maybe I'll get a USB power raspberry pi and use that to stream media to the glasses
I'll be getting these until I can afford the Vision Pro lol. Thanks for this review
Haha yeah that’s quite the price difference.
@@PatrickRambles definitely lol
It's hard for me to hear the name of the adapters you need for this in your video... probably it's my hearing.
But can you comment here which adapters can be used to connect to the iphone, and what the connector is
that is used in concert with the nreal adapter? I though initially you could only use this with an android phone
or a macbook, but I see that you can use this with the Switch, the Iphone, and the PS 5 in addition to Xbox XS series
My husband loves gaming and it sounds like if it's affordable, it may be something he would actually use if I can afford
this for him. Heck , I want to use it too! But it's his BD coming up, so I really want to surprise him!
I sure hope he can use this with his glasses though, because they have very thick lense.
PS . I think you did an awesome job of making it look like we could see what you were seeing
to use with the iphone, you need two adapters. the one sold by XReal which is $59 and the apple lightning digital AV adapter.
Waiting for the AR glasses from Lenovo
Hey, I've heard in your video your from Belgium, where did you buy the glasses? I'm from the Netherlands, and only can find them in the US...
I'm from the Netherlands too, I live in Belgium. The glasses were sent to me by Nreal/XREAL.
In your underwear like a boss 🙂 0:25 LOL
LOL they're gym shorts, but I guess that's not much of a difference 😂
9:27 Man like are we in future?
🤣
What’s the price point?
Link in description.
Did you try the hand tracking feature?
XREAL NEEDS to release a dock to charge and use your devices at the same time.
They have one shipping later this month. It's called the Beam and it charges as well as allows 6 DOF for any device thus removing the nausea from the fixed screens. Just pre-ordered one!
Thank god it has ACTUAL buttons. Touch controls are the worst
Do you think the xreal better then the rokid max? 😮 they sure look better then the rokid max 😂
Haha yeah they do. I haven't tested the Rokid so I can't really speak on that, but it's the comparison everybody makes so I assume they will.be quite similar.
@@PatrickRambles would love you to do video side by side rokid vs xreal. I ordered the rokid for now peace out from uk ✌️
I want these :(
9:32 the guy in the right side
No battery what a deal breaker. Because of the tint you'd think these were made to be used outdoors but not with a wire running down my neck.
Even if it did have a battery, the wire is there for data transmission.
Does it play 3D movies?
Great question. I'm not sure but I don't think so.
Speakers are quite unnecessary. Everyone’s going to use them with their headphones. They have to fix the problem of cables and adapters. It’s way too many things to connect this to an iPhone.
This clip is kinda trying to be shown as a review even though there isn’t a single negative mentioned in whole 12 min.
11:03 well maybe except for diesel engines :DDD
LOL fair play
