Thanks for the walk through. One UA-cam mechanic yanked the entire filter housing off without draining the oil filter housing first. It created quite a mess. Glad you showed us how to remove the filter the way the Toyota engineers intended.

Sir. You did a wrong. NEVER check engine oil level while the engine is running...always check engine oil with the engine OFF for at least a few minutes...why? Because you want to wait til all the engine oil drained to the bottom of the engine pan oil...

Pretty good video, until almost the end. Hope you don't mind some constructive criticism: the the oil capacity on this engine is 4.6 quarts. Most if not all oil jugs have quart markings, right? Not too hard to get close to 4.6 qts without needing to check the dipstick. But if you do check the oil level via the dipstick, you need to do that with the engine off for a few minutes so all the oil that's been pumped throughout the engine when it's running can drain back down to the pan. As it is, checking it with the engine running gave you a lower-than-actual reading and led to you overfilling it by that 0.4 of a quart. (It's trans fluid that you want the engine running to get an accurate level reading.)

Comments and criticism are always welcome. Someone else had mention that the engine was should be off when checking the oil level. The engine was off. Your other comments were on point. Thanks.

A Toyota technician told me not to remove the bottom cover he said prodding around with those plastic drain tubes could damage the pressure relief valve.

The procedure is from Toyota. But the technician does make a good point.

Check the toyota manual first, for the correct amount of oil . When you check oil when engine is cold it should be between full and 1 qt low. Not full. Reason being oil will expand when hot. So check it after engine is warmed up to operating temp. Turn off engine, The oil should be at the full mark then.

Good man you use a new crush washer... I put in comments for other video creators telling me that it doesn't matter. I always tell them to refer to their vehicle manual you can do as you please sure.... I own a 07' Honda Civic Si and my manual says to replace it, not keep re-using it...

I think your oil capacity is something like 4.7 quarts. You shouldn't overfill it. To get an accurate reading the oil should be at operating temperature. If you fill it to the full mark with cool oil then when it reaches operating temperature it will be overfull.
It's good that you provided torque specs. Would have been a bit better to actually used a torque wrench but you seem to have a feel for how tight it should be.
    Thumbs up.

Actually I believe the 2.5 engine first appeared in the 2009 Camry.

      You are correct...
2010 was the first year for a 4 cylinder Camry.
2009 was the first year for a 4 cylinder RAV4.

4 or 6 will work for the Camry, but he is using a 6, which is more universal for Toyotas.

You warmed oil for 10 seconds? Try driving for 20 minutes next time, then wait atleast 5min after shutting off before checking
