"So I made a call" 😂 those MORR shirts were perfect.
I had a friend that had a bunch of problems with fuel pumps in his Jeep wrangler. In a years time he changed 4 fuel pumps. He finally had the problem fixed at a off-road shop. The tech said that the problem was excess mud and water on top of the fuel tank causing the pump to short out due to his body lift. Removed the body lift and cut up the fenders 7 years ago. Never had another fuel pump problem.
First thing I thought, was that emergency fuel shut off switch
I’m a girl, and it was my thought. Google is my friend. Sorry. 😉
My first thought was typical Ford
That's why I love Matt's team✌🐃
Ya'll have some sweet rides glad you got rescued n got it fixed. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun enjoy ya'lls time together
Fun times, my fuel pump died at 5,000 miles. Sat at the dealer waiting for parts for 3 weeks during the summer when the top should have been down. At least you called the right tow service :)
That bronco looks pretty new to have a fuel pump go out, glad Matt was able to help
Brand new or not Fix.Or.Repair.Daily =ford 💩
my brother and I bought a stock 1974 cj5 that was beat up, and only a 4 cylinder. very poor condition and no frills and still somehow we made through a weekend roaming through that area. Of course the jeep was stolen shortly there after, but we had a very cool weekend, once in a life time.
Fun fact : A lot of fuel pumps burn up the fuel pump relay before the fuel pump actually stops working. Many times you can change the relay and the vehicle will run again for several hours to several months before it dries another relay !!!!
So Wise , Thank You , Another fine rescu
If you hit a little hard, you may have Tripped the roller over switch , emergency fuel cut switch. Depending upon brand. Most vehicles have a reset switch in the rear of the vehicle.
I suspect you have damaged critical wires next to that left front tire. Most likely, there is nothing wrong with the pump.
Those on Fords are in the Right Front Passenger compartments well in the side panel below the Glove box my old Ford f-150 used to trip on a bump took me 2 fuel pumps and a few mechanics to figure it out replaced that sucker the minute we knew it was the problem!
@@Chaplain_GM no cut-off switch in that location on these new Broncos. In fact, not sure there's one you can control - owner's manual mentions a cut-off but says to just attempt to start the vehicle twice to reset it, before giving up and calling for help. Strange.
Just confirmed in the service manual: "Should the vehicle shut off after a collision due to this feature, the vehicle may be restarted by first turning the ignition to the OFF position and then turn the ignition to the ON position. In some instances the vehicle may not start the first time and may take one additional ignition cycle."
The fault code says it all! Pay close attention to the verbiage! Fuel pump control module control circuit. Not a pump but the control wire to the fuel pump driver module which Ford loves to put on the frame just ahead of the fuel tank on drivers side frame rail. That way it get full of road shmeuooo. Yeah that is a technical term. Lol. The drivers control circuit runs from the ECM to the fpdm on the frame
First time watching your content 😜. Because you guys know Matt I'm going to follow you for a while 🐱. Thanks 👍 for sharing.
Awesome video... Found you through Matt's off-road recovery . I'm a subscriber now!!
Welcome sir!
Awe man! The moment I saw you guys pull that harness out I was thinking you pulled or frayed a wire. Hope that's it and it's a simple fix!
Yes, that’s what it was and it was fairly simple
My thoughts exactly!!!!
@Questing Vagabond I agree I don’t really love the location
@Questing Vagabond it came that way, but we are relocating it
thank matt for me being here heard of you, but since Matt is coming after you I subscibed
Love the port and starboard nails😊
Love Matt 💛💛💛💛💛
Wow; just found your channel because of Title of Video’s & wearing Matt’s sweatshirt.
Sorry you couldn't give me one of those new Broncos nothing but problems and you're making parts for him you're a brave man😂
Almost 19k miles on my 2dr 2021 with no issues at all. Love it.
I might suggest to add Dual Snorkels to your rig. It is all the rage in Bavaria.
My buddy bought a new Bronco and in just 1 year it has been back to the Stealership 37 times for various recalls and just last weekend his fuelpump went out.
I'll stick with My reliable Toyota 80 series and new 2023 4Runner TDR
These guys are still no different from us. ❤ Trial and error. It does look like Gilligan and the Skipper tho! 😅
to see how versed one is driving off road, i watch Thumb Placement on the steering wheel, knowing better, to not grasp steering wheel with thumb inside the steering wheel...I noticed and it looked very sub conscious, yo don't put your thumb inside...👍👍👍👍
the MOORVAIR is a beast, love that thing
There should be more wheel well clearance with those tires.
At street pressure it's OK.
But aired down you got to see how that tire and suspension works.
Probably what killed the pump was frayed wires. Alot of stuff is negative switched. That would explain the code of open circuit.
So not only are you a fan, you’re also a client!
Fuel pump went on my 22 Bronco this week.
First-time for everything point is officially proven.
Seriously. He had another bronco there with him. Just pull him out. take your time and have fun with it. I see winches too. He just wanted to get some Matts MORR screen time.
Well first off my wife wasn’t comfortable trying to steer without power. Second Matt is a friend and a phone call away to help.
Interesting video, hope it's an easy fix. Look forward to the result. Please watch your audio levels.
MATTMANs outta the cave and onto the save😊
They just recalled the 2.3 Ecoboost on the Ranger, explorer and bronco 22-23 safety recall.
While we love companies ran by great people like Matt's off-road, I'd recommend a yankum rope and always promote self recovery first. You had a winch on your other bronco, and a tow rope would have done the same as what the morrvair did.
Well, first, I agree Matt is a great guy and a friend! Second, I do sell the Yankum Rope on our website it is called the BroncLasso. Third, my vehicle is a manual transmission and my wife won’t drive it., and no matter how hard we tried we could not get it to steer. If you watch the entire video, it took Matt who is a very big, strong guy everything he could do to turn it. In addition, it took my vehicle in the rear and his vehicle in the front to winch it back-and-forth to get it in a spot where we could go forward. Yes you’re absolutely right if I spend enough time at it, I probably could’ve come up with something. But hey, it was a lot more fun Calling a friend. 😊
Matt's rope is made by Yankum, they just yellow dye for his branding.
I WAS wondering if the problem was in that damaged harness (after you discovered it, of course!)
Yeah try the fuel cut off switch first 💪
Glad you guys are using them for what they are built for. Even though I drive a Jeep I respect the culture.
Thanks buddy likewise. I do love a little bit of a jeep versus bronco banter, but at the end of the day, I just love people that go off road and are part of this community. In fact, it drives me nuts when I get together with people that say oh no, this is just a bronco event, etc.. and on that same token, I’ve been excluded because I wasn’t a jeep. Fact, is they all have their shortcomings?
Those new Bronco's are pretty dependable...😁😁
Yes they are!
Until the tierods break and the valves drop and the backup cam fails....ect.
Moral of the story if it rubs simple trimming won’t work. Gotta look at the bigger picture and not risk damaging electrical. I need to see where my wiring is on my gladiator so I don’t make this mistake I don’t rub on 38 but when I flex out the tire does tuck in there . Better safe thank sorry. Thank you for the eye opening learning experience. I’m a poor working under middle class average guy . i don’t have the extra dinero to just fk it. Thanks again for the video keep us updated. Just when I was thinking hmm maybe trade for a bronco but I’ll keep my gladiator for a little longer it’s been good to me with all the adventures we throw at it. Safe travels .
Exactly what I was thinking. Tires should clear the fenders and wheel wells under all circumstances.
We've been where you are ourselves, except at night. 😮
While they were waiting for Matt, I wondered about an impact switch or damage to wiring. Doesn't the Bronco have electric power steering assist?
Back when, they had a switch up under the dash that tripped after a tilt of so many degrees.
Do they still have that switch?
Maybe put tires on it that clear everything!
Gotta love them Broncos boy, brand new 4x4 and all kinds of things breaking all the time..
What Matt and them didn't give you a shirt😂 😂😂
Need the fix those wheel well clearances…
I like this video up to the point you started blasting the music :\
There's a first time for everything.
Awesome recovery. Awesome looking vehicles that aren't yellow (LOL) but audio was perfect until the 20:11 mark and then the music kicked in so loud I had to grab the headphones off before it deafened me. Other than that really good video.
And the morvair is a beast
The Busted Bronc channel
It's all about the adventure. 👍
So unless it's a work-in-progress I don't understand why you have the oversized tires that can rip off your fenders I think you need to either lift the truck or put some kind of bump stops in or put on smaller tires.
The next thing I don't get is unless it was for scratching reasons why do you need the soft shackle when you have a d-ring and a metal hook? (When you attached to the rear)
What am I missing it does not seem like you needed the soft shackle?
All in all have fun 👊
i am agree with you for the fender and curious about the soft shackle too, maybe just he is comendit, maybe its juste a little faster XD
My assumption would be that the soft shackle can absorb some of the potential energy and shock loads better than a solid D-Shackle, so if/when it breaks, it presents less risk of injury. Sort of similar to the switch from steel cable to nylon/dyneema rope. More flex, with less risk of injury when it inevitably breaks.
Tires simply too big.
My husband what's to get those lights on our Bronco. We were wondering if they made any noise? We had a bar one and it was so so loud. Lol 😂
Very noisy 🤣
@@BroncBustertx oh boy lol but it looks so good lol haha 🤣 we are planning on going on alot of trip with her so I don't know how good it would be lol haha 😆
Matt l ows that area like the back of his hand
Knowa I neant to say
How new is that bronco? and the fuel pump went out? That is not saying much for Ford.
Often it’s a safety issue. The fuel pump is designed to not pump fuel after a serious accident. It MIGHT have read a impact from obstacle as damage. Often there is a manual reset.
They have had a lot of issues with the bronco’s, not sure Ford didn’t get in too big of a hurry to hit production date and didn’t get enough R&D time in.
He commented in a different reply that it was a wiring issue due to his tire rubbing.
Ford hasn't exactly been known for their reliability as of late
The new bronco is junk
Music is twice the volume please adjust.
it went allot better because the morvair is a beast
Yeah , For sure , probably the harness , especially if that tire rubs the plastic hard enough , it will heat up those wires inside and burn the insulation off and create a short. Probably blew a fuse. Ford runs them well but when you start adding larger tires and you do not lift it much , this is pretty much a possible outcome. Body lifts do more than just give you room for your tires and articulation to work , they also move up the harnesses to be more out of the way of the tires. I ran my air hoses right a long with the electrical wire harness into the engine bay. DV8 makes panels that will protect the harness better , being that his tires are sort of stuffed in the wheel wells tighter. Good video though.
😂
Hi guys i am new to ur channel &i watch Matt,s channel as well as Robby,s channel toothat is when i am not working as i run a scrap yard i work all night cleaning up the yard & my trucks all old fords as well
Welcome 🤗
Was cool seeing Matt an them shooting was like a behind the scenes video ha. Heads up that music you guys play is tough an kinda annoying lol but awesome video. I'm a new subscriber now
First thing check fuel pump relay under dash or right kick panel
It ended up being wires
Eh, the fender liner is just there as a sacrificial lamb to protect the tire from getting cut right? LOL
Little suggestion - I use garden hose on some harnesses if they're exposed to possible contact points.
Wait, 2 vehicles. 1 running, yet you called someone else to rescue you? Walmart sells tow straps.
Thats what i was thinking....afraid of the views from breaking two broncos or no experience.
Check your fuel relay safety tip over shut off switch. My guess is its tripped and needs to be reset.
Use starter and periodic start/stop to power the steering pump till pointed the way you want.
It’s an electric steering rack!
@@BroncBustertx Yes. Same answer as it was starting for moments. and while cranking does assist some.
@@gannonfamily2000 nope it definitely does not work that way! If you watch my channel, we are the experts on the steering rack. The vehicle have to be completely started and running before the computer will allow the electric motor to engage.
engine immobilizer - it was probably tripped - this cuts of the fuel pump! installed incase there is a wreck which could cause a fire. I had a Ford Edge that I got in a wreck in- (the rear was damaged) . The switch was in the rear and I pulled it and I was able to move the car out of the road.
should have tried smacking it! LOL!
It looks like the front axle is moving about a foot from front to back. Is something broken?
did you remove the inertia switch it shuts the fuel pump off when in a collision. but rough wheeling can set it off also
Bronc Busted!
Ford usually locates theiur fuel pump impact shutoff in the kick panel to the right oif the passenger footwell. Feel over the top for a button that feels like the back of a flashlight. push it.
FYI, that code means open circuit. Means something isn’t grounded but should be.
😮
Most Fords have a fuel pump reset on them. most are behind the passenger kick panel
It ended up being a wire
Inertia switch would be my first thought
try banging on the bottom of tank thile trying to start sometimes pump sticks
With all the wiring on those things much like the Raptor Ford really should have done a better bit of routing tighter to the upper inner chassis rather lower down to where the tires and rocks can get at them.
Call Chad's Fab
What is the clicking noise from the bronc buster? Going to look how to get out it's clicking horribly.
It’s my CV axles
Have you had lots of problems with the Bronco.? I’m nervous about buying one because it’s a new Ford model.
Well if you'd had a old school Bronco you would have had that problem. I know cuz I had a 68 Bronco. 46 years under 60,000 MI..🤷🏽♂️✌🏽👍🏽🙋🏽♂️😊😎.
I've owned my '69 since 1981, almost 100K mi on it. I think I'll stick with mine rather than a newer one.
Use only non ethanol fuel. all others leave dirt on the fuel sock. It works wonders for mine and I do not have fuel pump issues any longer
Nice video, curious what caused such a new ride to have issues. "P025A Fuel pump open circuit" often times in just a blown fuse.
It actually was a short in a wire, and a blown fuse
With the rain that was coming down I’m sure when that wire got nicked the moisture than caused a short
Why does that bronco make so many cracking noises as you are scouting the recovery? It sounds like it’s on the verge of snapping something. I’ve always been told if it sounds like something is binding or stressing it’s no bueno.
People like to Ghost, off of Matt's off road recovery.
I noticed that too, they use Matt’s notoriety to make their videos more popular.
And of course had open the fenders up and re-seal everything
I know on some of the vehicles there’s a reset for the pump?
It's probably not the fuel pump, Ford likes to put control modules for the fuel pump somewhere under the back of the vehicle.
Broncbusted😂
Run the proper tire size!
Hope you now have enough arch + wiring clearance. Guess you damaged the harness with the tyre rubbing on it?
That’s what happened
By disconnecting the battery will that cancel the trouble code? Or would cancelling the code on your code reader be more thorough, Incase the computer has a backup battery.
Normally the code reader would do it. But I tried both. Since it ended up being a wire and it was wet nothing would work until I fixed the wire and replaced the fuse
Its amazing how many channels can be formed off the back of heavily pushed other channels.
🙃ok this Chanel has and will continue with or without our friend Matt.
Most Fords have a roll over fuel pump cutoff switch in the passenger kick panel area. It can be triggered by a hard jolt, and it's easy to reset. I doubt it's your fuel pump.
Damaged wire! Fixed it once I got back to town
In my old bronco pull the passenger kick panel off and reset it
Fuel pump RUN fuse. That circuit by passes when the starter circuit is active that's why it runs while cranking. Just a simple Fuse replacement. Let me know if I was wrong.
It was a torn wire
Did you swap relays in the fuse block?
No just fixed wires and replaced fuses,
The newer fords might be different but did you hit a decent size bump right before bronco shut off ? I’d if your scan tool would show what it did if this happened but apparently a lot of fords behind passenger side kick panel have fuel cut off switch is it possible there one on bronco and it got tripped causing scan tool to say open circuit? Just a thought y’all probably out by now
Yeah I guess it wouldn’t try to start if it was the fuel cut off switch or was it just trying to start on what was left in the system up to point where ever gets cut to my understanding the fuel cut off switch cuts power to your pump in case of wreck
What power tank mount are you running in the rear?
broncbustertx.com/products/bronco-plate-4dr-power-tank-or-propane-tank-mount?_pos=2&_psq=Powe&_ss=e&_v=1.0
There might be a reset in the trunk...
Check the manual.
At least your not getting washed down to the bottom yet
Did anyone ever check to see if there was a fuse blown?
Torn wire
