Hope for the same in our future. Liveable wages for all, sustainable products being more affordable, reusable packaging being a regular habit, and making more green spaces such as gardens.

Regarding reintroducing jaguars into the US we could start with saving the endangered Florida panther. Really like your videos!

I had a milk man in Belgium for years. He would bring any dairy product I wanted. I would leave an envelope with money and he would leave my charge and receipt. I also had a drinks man who delivered water and sofa pop in glass bottles. He would also deliver beer in glass bottles . I loved it, it meant I didn’t have to carry all those bottles and it created jobs! Bakeries there also deliver. It’s so nice to wake up to fresh baked goods in paper bags on your doorstep. ❤️

YES! I love this so much. When I was visiting San Diego a few years ago, they have a local winery with refillable wine bottles and a little electric truck, where they drop off full and pick up empty wine bottles to be sanitized and refilled. Just so cool! It should be everywhere.

That was the first time I ever saw a plant based food option offered cheaper. Glad you made another video here and its nice to see some positivity.

We have a milkman (UK) and we get our oat milk from him. You don't need to buy dairy nowadays, to use a milkman

Food production - food forest and vertical farms
Transport - active and micro-mobilty within cities and PT between cities.
Economy - material use and re-use. Products designs for deconstruction.
Rural space - rewild monoculture fields.
    - communal micro energy and water grids.
    - change of perspective for where we live. Co inhabit cheerfully rather than remove wild and replace with human.
    - CO2 neutral goals for people and local businesses being the norm.
    -
    Just a few ideas.

    Loved this video.
My dream for the future is
    - a price on green house gas emissions
    - Rewilding of spaces, enhanced connectivity and protection of these natural spaces
    - yes the inclusion, protection of traditional ecological knowledge and native people as protectors of biodiversity!
    - Reworking of the supply chain to close-looped circle
    - Focus on use of native and edible plants in landscaping
    - Increased understanding of and protection of water resources
    and so much more!

St Pete in Florida is becoming an absolute beacon of supporting small businesses and walk-ability! Some of the things they’ve done to help people get away from cars is offer electric scooters and bicycles, and also in downtown bikes can use the whole road. Some of the infrastructure that they’ve changed is they added traffic lights but for pedestrians crossing only to make it super safe. It’s also the home of my favorite zero waste store!

In the area of Australia where I live there is a company called Green Caffeen that runs a reusable coffee cup program in the local cafes. There is an app that you use to check out the cup which you then return to any participating cafe within one month. Very useful if you forget your keep cup.

Making cities more walkable is genuinely just reclaiming existing roads and this will be so unique to each location. It can be really hard to work around existing cities, but in my public health degree we looked at the layout of different cities around the world and how we could repurpose existing roads and infrastructure.

I love that! Just read an article about how Lancaster CA made their downtown more walkable and amenable for events and generated 273 MILLION in revenue and added a bunch of new jobs, supported small businesses and more! Truly amazing what good design can do! www.smartcitiesdive.com/ex/sustainablecitiescollective/how-retrofitting-california-suburb-walkability-spurring-economic-development/108556/

Some cities will need drastic changes to make walkability/bikability a focus. Houston is the first that comes to mind. Regarding rewilding of spaces, the Xerces Society does great work on that front, and they even have a certification for farmers that set aside land for pollination protection.

    • @GoingZeroWaste
      @GoingZeroWaste  2 роки тому

Interesting! Yes, our society definitely needs to have more conversations on infrastructure and how we'd go about changing things to make it more walk/bike friendly. Much room for improvement!

Thank you for another inspiring video for our sustainable future! I would like to a video on regenerative agriculture which includes pasture raised animals. There is a concept of good meat and bad meat that gets overlooked. As a recovering vegan of 15 years. I healed my health with this local meat!
Also, would like to see a list of the most eco friendly cities. We live in DC and it was just named the most bikable place plus we have hundreds of rain gardens and urban community gardens in every neighborhood, it does give me hope!
