@@MakeOrBreakSociety Thanks for the prompt update, seems entirely not worth attempting this on a 2GB Pi4. I've completed a new Pi4 build recently using one of the images from the Retropie download page, I've not sure if anyone has asked this, but I take it there are no PS2 emulators working/compatible with the Pi4 standard "retropie-buster" build? I'm happy to accept the limitations of a Pi4 anyway and not attempt to run anything that's laggy/slow etc.
I'm generally able to play it but sometimes it slows way down. Any tips/links you can point me to to adjust emulator settings or anything to make it better? Or is some slowness just to be expected when running a game like that on pi 5 hardware?
@@cwag03 some slowness is going to happen but you can get better performance by overclocking. DO NOT ATTEMPT UNLESS YOU HAVE ACTIVE COOLING! go into your config.txt by putting the sd card into your computer or entering sudo nano /boot/firmware/config.txt via ssh Scroll all the way to the bottom and enter: arm_freq=2900 gpu_freq=990 Then save and restart. If it doesn't boot put your sd card into your computer and reduce arm by 100 and gpu by 10 and try again. keep going down by 100 and 10 until it boots and try the game again. it won't make a HUGE difference but it will help!

@MakeOrBreakSociety all good, if you have issues send me a pm and I can send through the links etc. in addition do you have issues getting back to emulationstation after entering a PS2 game? Found I need to restart the system.
@@bryantm82004 i found two solutions, First one, to solve most issues is to get kernel8 running with zero issues is to update the pi's firmware/kernel. take a look at rpi-update, this will update it to the latest unstable build but has fixed the pagefile issues with nvme's (look at the official documentation as it will show you how to revert that and go back to latest stable). The primary issue is around the nvme needing more space for pagefiles and that causing audiodrivers to crash. Only downside to this, is we'll lose like i think 8%? of performance going from 16k to 4k pagefiles. I have links for everything but last time i tried to post them youtube said no. I'll try a seperate comment to include some links. There is another method to get n64 going, might be something similar for ps2 and other emulators.
